So I'm watching this show called Paranoia Agent by Satoshi Kon. I think it's really good so far and I'm on episode 3. Does anyone watch or has finished it? Uh, it's kinda weird so far but I still like it so far. ^___^ For anyone who hasn't watched it: Paranoia Agent (妄想代理人, Mōsō Dairinin?) is a Japanese anime television miniseries about a social phenomenon in Musashino, Tokyo caused by a juvenile serial assailant named Lil' Slugger (Shonen Bat, or Bat Boy in the original Japanese version). The plot relays between a large cast of people affected in some way by the phenomenon; usually Lil' Slugger's victims are the detectives assigned to apprehend him. As each character becomes the focus of the story, details are revealed about their secret lives and the truth about Lil' Slugger. -Source Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoia_Agent ![]() I thought episode 2 was funny because it revolved around this conceited little brat. I totally recondmend this anime, it's slow at first but you'll get hooked into it. Plus it has good animation that you'll like. It's well dubbed as well in my opinion. Also, there are 13 episodes. |

ive watched the whole seires and its amazing, but its a massive brainscrew, u will ghave to watch the whole series several times to "get it", for example, in one episode a group of friends try to commit suicide, but keep failing - only after watching a number of times do you understand why they fail (pay attention to their shadows) |

Cool, I'll remember that. : D I lol'd at Icchi in episode 2. "LOOK IT'S LIL SLUGGER!" Then Slugger comes and hit's him with a bat. He totally deserved that hit from him. He was such a conceited little brat. |

No, Ichi does get hit. I have this on boxset. Utterly genius anime /Kon fanboyism I really hope people who have watched it understand the symbolism though. People seem to just watch it and go "lulz it was liek, total acid trip, dis guy iz weerd" SHOUNEN BATTOOOO |

ichi is the popular one, right? when does he get hit? i thought it was just the fat dude yeah the symbolism is quite an important role, but i must confess a lot of it was over my head. can u explain the significance of the police investigator replacing the old man in the final prophetic vision and writing on the floor in the final episode? |

At the very end of the episode when he's hallucinating after his mother tells him he has to go to school Also, the replacement of the original old man with Maniwa in the very end of the series is supposed to show a sort of "life goes on" ending. Also, throughout the series, Maniwa continues to become more enlightened, yet incredibly misunderstood (ala Magnet Man), so at the end, he's taken the place of the old man as the enlightened social outcast whom nobody understands. |

yeah rings a bell the suicide episode was very very clever imo with the shadows, and the guy at the train station the irony of the condom machine is clever as well |

Yeah "Happy Family Planning" was definitely one of the best episodes. "Mellow Maromi" and "MHz" are my favorite episodes though. They're just the most disturbing |

the fucking dream world which traps the cheif is fucking weird what i dont get though is how the guy who he works with (the ex criminal) guides him there. what does that signify? that place was quite creepy. mhz is the one with the computers and shiz yeah? thats where maniwa starts to go insane (i think its him, cant remember) etc is quite disturbing too (the one with the housewives gossiping) |

I was sortof neutral on ETC it wasnt bad but I was just sortof laughing for most of it MHz is the one where they find and catch the Shonen Bat imposter and question him, and then at the end of the episode they find his cell open, him beaten to death, and skate marks coming from the pool of blood. And then Maniwa gives that creepy monologue over the AM radio to coincide with the title. But yeah, that IS the start of Maniwa's descent into eccentricity. |

*Covers eyes through comments* Jaykay. The animation of this show made me think about my standards with other animation in other shows. I really like this show so far. I also liked the anime, it was odd but really catchy to me at the same time. |

I'm starting to be a fan of his. I'm gonna look for more of the artwork he makes because they just turn out to be really good. And rofl, lemme guess which popular anime it is. Is it Bleach or Naruto? |
