Atlas [Male Machoke]: Atlas was befriended by Jeffrey when he first started training at the Fighting Dojo and joined his team. He is modest of his strength, preferring to use techniques in battle rather than to overwhelm his opponent with pure strength. The Superpower Pokémon is very loyal to his trainer and will fight alongside him if needed. From Atlas, Jeffrey was able to pick up on wrestling, his first fighting style. Ability: Guts Moves: Focus Energy, Karate Chop, Low Sweep, Seismic Toss, Vital Throw, Foresight, Low Kick Chan [Male Hitmonchan]: Chan was given to Jeffrey during his time training at the Fighting Dojo. Although physically weaker than the rest of his team, he makes up for that with his precision, rarely missing an attack. The Punching Pokémon is known to have a rivalry with Lee, one of the few Pokémon who can dodge his hits. From Chan, Jeffrey was able to learn about boxing, his go-to fighting style. Ability: Keen Eye Moves: Agility, Thunder Punch, Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, Feint, Comet Punch Lee [Male Hitmonlee]: Hitmonlee was given to Jeffrey during his time spent training at the Saffron Dojo. He is all about strength, putting as much power as he can behind his kicks to bring his opponent down efficiently. The Kicking Pokémon is known to have a rivalry with Chan, one of the few Pokémon who can endure his kicks. From Lee, Jeffrey was able to learn taekwondo, a fighting style he rarely uses unless challenged. Ability: Reckless Moves: Mega Kick, Double Kick, Meditate, Jump Kick, Rolling Kick

Jeffrey stands at six feet and two inches and weighs around 187 pounds with a somewhat bulky frame. He has above average muscles to achieve a balance between strength and speed. He keeps his hair shaved so it does not get in the way of his hazel eyes and to prevent any opponents from gripping his hair. There is a small scar underneath his left eye from his first fight against his bullies as a teenager. He will occasionally be seen with slight bruises or cuts on his skin that were inflicted during a fight.
Jeffrey prefers to show off his physique when it comes to what he wears. Normally, he wears a white tank top to show off his arms and a pair of ripped jeans. Surprisingly, he is usually seen not wearing any footwear at all due to his personal preference. He usually keeps an athletic, carrier bag hung around his right shoulder which contains his Pokémon as well as three extra sets of clothing each designed for one of the fighting styles he knows.

Jeffrey is known to be proud yet not arrogant. He does boast about his strength and fighting styles yet never claims he can do something he has never done before. He hates leaving business for others to do and will often step forward to help out with whatever he needs to do. His main reason to fight is to become stronger with standing up for others and protection being a very close second. He does his best not to be too intimidating as a way to befriend others.
Asides from fighting styles, Jeffrey seems to have a disinterest in learning. Yet he does strive to try to learn more outside of his fighting styles in an attempt to be open towards others. He is very stubborn and never backs down. Despite his pride usually being worn on his sleeve, he has his own self-doubts about himself due to being bullied, but he tries to use that doubt to push himself harder when training, hoping to truly overcome them one day.

Jeffrey was born in Saffron City to Al and Karen Haskell. Both of his parents worked desk jobs at the Silph Company and managed their schedules to have time to raise their son. When he started going to school, he struggled to class passes due to a lack of interest, and despite trying to befriend his classmates, they were quick to make fun of him. Years went by with the playful taunting soon turning into rough fighting in the hallways during his teenage years. Despite having hit a growth spurt, Jeffrey usually lost to the bullies. When he told his parents about this, they insisted that all he had to do was try to befriend his bullies. However, their pacifist way of thinking did not work, leading for him to seek out ways to defend himself.
When he was 14, Jeffrey found himself walking to the Fighting Dojo, having heard of the fighters there. The instructors tried to train him but he struggled to learn. Before leaving, he befriended a Machop, who encouraged him to keep at his training. So, with each day, he returned to the Dojo, training with both the instructors and the Machop, who would later become his first Pokémon. Soon, thanks to his training, not only was Jeffrey able to stand up to his own bullies, but he also protected others that were in his situation as well. Of course, this would lead to punishment at both school and home, but it did little to set the pupil off his path.
Jeffrey continued training at the Fighting Dojo for many years and was mainly seen sparring with Machoke with wrestling moves. When he was 18, one of the instructors thought of an experiment to allow for humans to learn fighting styles from Pokémon. To this end, Jeffrey was given his Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan to spar and train with. From them, he was able to pick up on two new fighting styles: boxing and taekwondo.
After years of training at the Fighting Dojo, Jeffrey soon discovered that he was running out of things to learn there. With that in mind, he decided to leave on a journey with two goals in mind. The first would be to learn more fighting styles from the Pokémon he encounters. The second would be to challenge the Fighting-type experts around the world and beat them in a battle. With his goals set in mind, Jeffrey set out on his journey with his Pokémon, prepared to both fight and learn.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" the instructor asked.
"Yeah, I am," Jeffrey replied confidently. "Don't get me wrong. This place has taught me a lot over the years. I just think I have more to learn."
The two stood across from each other on top of a mat within the Dojo. Normally, this would mean that a sparring session would take place, but that was not the case for today. Over the past few days, Jeffrey had made his intentions clear that he was leaving by telling his parents and friends. He had just now informed the Fighting Dojo of his soon-to-be departure. He learned so much from the instructors yet wanted to learn more while facing off against other Fighting-type experts.
"Well, on behalf of the Fighting Dojo, I wish you luck on your journey," the instructor calmly told him. "It will be a long journey for you, but if anyone can do it, it's you."
"Well, thanks," Jeffrey replied, smiling. "But this isn't goodbye for good. I'll be back one day."
The instructor nodded, stepping forward while extending his hand towards him. Jeffrey did likewise, gripping his hand in a firm handshake. Afterwards, they both bowed, and Jeffrey started to make his way to the exit, turning back briefly. It was a bittersweet moment, leaving the Dojo. On one hand, he was going to learn more about different fighting techniques. Yet, on the other, everything he knew about fighting came from this Dojo. Without his training, he would not have thought to leave Saffron City.
Jeffrey then reminded himself that this was not going to be the last time he would set foot in the Fighting Dojo. He would return one day, stronger than ever before with new fighting styles to share with a new generation of students. The dream he had would be one that goes on for years, maybe even decades. Yet, he would follow it without hesitation. With his final look at the Dojo, Jeffrey pushed the doors open and made his way back to the streets of Saffron City.
