Curt laughed whilst the boat whisked across the water, occasionally bumping a wave with a large splash. He'd met a ship captain in Vermillion, and was happy to spend a couple days in the Citrus islands! Especially with all that muggy weather on the mainland, it felt as if it had been raining for weeks. The teen was delighted by the clear skies, and warm sea air! At the moment Curtis was heading toward Rind Island, a deserted little island on the north end of the chain. Apparently, this place was well known for it's Gyrados population, thought it could be an interesting sight. Curt was leaning up against the railing of the ferry on it's second level deck, and had Sammy right by his side of course. She was thrilled, peeking her head out from between the rails eager for a good swim in these tropical waters. From the looks of it, Sam was pretty stoked with this mini-vacation as much as her trainer was.

Curt had left his Ranger clothes behind, because he was only going to stay a day or two. Instead choosing to wear his normal attire of swim trunks, and a plain black short sleeve. The teenager didn't even bother with flip-flops on his feet, he was in full relaxation mode. He couldn't help smile down at his Pokémon, before glancing up at the horizon. Rind Island was coming into on the horizon, and Curt pointed it out for Sam. "Check it out girl, Almost there!" He informed the water type. His statement was followed up by a chorus of joyful cries, "Eel! Eeeeeee, Seel!" "Someone's excited," Curt replied with a laugh, before reaching down to rub her forehead, "You'll be able to take a dip real soon, I know you want to."

Suddenly the boat's loudspeaker crackled to life, "..>CRRRSHSXX... Goodmorning Passengers, this is your Ferry Captain speaking. You've all decided to join us here at Rind Island on a beautiful day, and you couldn't have picked a better one!" Curt listened to the Captain's words in agreement, but was still more preoccupied with the Island coming into view. The speakers chirped once again, "Today just so happens to be a very important, and interesting ritual for the Citrus Islands Magikarp Population. They test their might by swimming up Rind's mighty stream back to their spawning grounds at the top. At which point, a large number evolve overnight before returning back to the sea as Gyrados. We'll be arriving at the River-mouth shortly, before letting passengers set out on Rind Island if they please. Enjoy the sights, raw beauty of nature, and remember to have a great day!!!" Now that last bit of information peaked the boy's interest. It sounded like an interesting sight to behold, and Curt couldn't wait to explore a bit too.

Ashura had taken a ride on the ferry to Rind Island, it was a place away from loggers and dangers to the environment. That often caused him pain and discomfit, and he hoped to bask in e beauty of this island paradise without issue. Though there were others on board the ferry, Ashura hoped they were the type not to pollute the beautiful island in any fashion. As he looked over the edge of the ship, his toga flapped in the wind as it loosely sat on his androgynous frame.

As the captain spoke about the island Ashura smiled, knowing that he'd have some interesting sights both plant wise and those from Pokémon. Though Gyarados were known for their aggression, Ashura never had an issue with any Pokémon because of his connection to nature. But all that was irrelevant as he waited for the ship to dock at the island, so he could get off and let his Pokémon out because without people around. He wouldn't have to worry about people eying his obscure Pokémon, as they often did when he let them out of their pokeballs.

After the Ferry was closing in the on river-mouth, and a crowd began to gather along the railing. Curt looked at the big entrance to the ocean with most of the boat's passengers, and admired water's beauty. From what he could see, it was easy to imagine flocks of Gyrados storming downsteam. This river was massive. As the boat drew in closer to the sight, Curtis started to noticed quick flickers across the water. Like little red flashes. Suddenly the Ferry slowed so it's passengers could get a good look. Once the boat was just putting along, Curt could easily see what the flashes had been. They were Magikarp jumping on the surface, except there were literally thousands of them. All the fish heading in the same direction towards the mouth. "Wow... Check that out Sam!" Curt said pointing, "There's so many" The teenager smiled, watching the fish for a moment. He found it fascinating that the Magikarp could find this same stream... and got mentally lost for a moment wondering about the mystery of this fact. Curt snapped back to reality, and looked for Sammy after her unusual silence. He was shocked not to see her anywhere around. "No way... Sam!" Curtis chirped, "Come 'ere girl... where'd you go?" The teen poked his head through the crowd for a moment, not seeing a sign of her in the small crowd.

"What the.." Curt started to say, but was interrupted by Sam's loud call beyond the Ferry's railing, "Seeeeeeeeeeeleee!". His face shot to dread, "Oh no, c'mon Sam!" This happened all the time, his Seel loved to hunt for food and what better place than a Magikarp frenzy? By the time he'd made it to the railing, Sam had already dived under again. Where she was in the water was clear because Magikarp started going irrationaly crazy in the water. Soon though, she surfaced with a rather large Magikarp flopping in her mouth. A muffled 'Eel," could be heard, and all the while the poor fish was screeching helplessly. Suddenly Curt was pointing at his Pokémon, "Oye! You drop that fish right now Sammy!!" For the moment, she ignored him but that changed when he reached for her Poké Ball. "Drop it! or you get the ball..." he threatened Sam, and she quietly obeyed even though she did want to eat the fish. The seel started to make her way back to the edge of the Ferry, swimming against the current of Magikarp to do so.

That was when the loudspeaker crackled again, "Hello again, Captain here, just wanted to make sure and give a friendly reminder everyone real quick! You, and your Pokémon should remain on our craft until we dock in a few moments. While the Magikarp are beautiful, we should keep in mind that Gyrados can be...?!?!". Curt could only kick himself figuratively when that loudspeaker was totally deafened by an even more powerful roar, "DOSSSS!" The ferry rocked momentarily from an impact, before Seel cried out for help, "SeeeeeEEEEL!" The student-ranger acted quickly, returning his Pokémon to the Poké Ball, and releasing her once again on the deck of the Ferry.

"I knew you shouldn't have messed with em' girl, Now you gotta help us out here," Curt told her in a scolding tone, "Can't let him bust the boat, can we?" Sammy shook her head, normally uneasy about a battle, and even more-so with such a fearsome opponent. "Awee, not even gonna try?" Curt asked, a bit worried now.

The Magicarp spawning was quite a serene sight, that was in till some teenagers Seek decided to play. Which wasn't a good idea, since the parents of the Magicarp were probably close by somewhere. After its trainer had ordered it back, the Seel had dropped the fish. But as a possibly mother/father Gyarados came out to return the Seel's favour, the trainer recalled the Pokémon to the ball and then back on the boat.

It seemed he was about to battle with the Gyarados, Ashura figured that there was really no need to fight. Pulling out his Candlelure, Ashura grabbed hold of the thing and told it to float on over. Thankfully he was a light boy so it was no hassle for his Pokémon, Ashura now floated in front of the Gyarados and smiled at it. "We apologise for the Seel's actions, but there's no need to take this further. The Magicarp is safe, we'll just stay a safe distance from you and yours" explained Ashura hoping the Gyarados was understanding him.

As always, Sam was refusing to battle. Curt obviously knew about this, but figured it was worth a shot. Neither Anvil, nor Mango was tough enough for that pissed off Gyrados. He felt pretty helpless at the moment, but suddenly a boy(... or girl, er...someone) approached the angry parent by hanging off of a strange floating Pokémon. Curt, and Sam watched closely, curious. A hush fell over the crowd, as they watched with the same curiosity. As they looked out into the sea of Magikarp, a Gyrados rose up from them facing the boy, and his Candlelure. The seadragon eyed this human closely, before glancing at the rest of the Ferry's population. This boy seemed to stand out, and Gyrados could clearly see the Seel wasn't bothering her children(That's right it's a mean ass Mama.). She merely growled in response, "Gyraa Dos," and slunk back into the ocean. Apparently, this boy's words had consoled the mother, leaving no need for battle like Curt's mind had automatically assumed.

"Wow," was the only word that could snake it's way out of Curtis' mouth at that moment. A few seconds went by, before he waved at the floating person. "Hey kid thanks!" He exclaimed with a smile, "You saved us without even an attack!" The teen was happy both for the Gyrados' sake, and the boat. It could have been a bummer if this Ferry sunk off a deserted island's shore. "SEEL!!! Sammy squealed with a quick dance, and Curt gave a quick laugh before responding, "She says thanks too!"

It seems that Ashura's words were enough, to make the Gyarados decide against the attack. He may not be a poke linguist, but his purity of heart and connection to nature often helped get feelings across. As he floated back over to the ship, the trainer of the Seel who caused it all waved him over. It seemed the teen was thanking him for his efforts as was the Seel, so once he was safely over the bow of the boat Ashura dropped and landed back on it.

Returning his Canldlelure to its ball Ashura looked at the teen "Battle is rarely necessary, as the pen is often mightier then the sword" commented Ashura to the teen. In reference to his comment about fixing thngs without battle, "I'm just glad it worked out, for everyone related" added Ashura.

"I'll make sure to keep that one in mind," Curt replied with a grin. He'd have never thought of reasoning with a Gyrados, but truth be told the teen wasn't sure he had the guts for something like that. "Very admirable of you to face em' like that, I'm sure even if we tried putting up a fight it'd be in vain," He openly admitted to the stranger, "By the way, I'm Curtis Matthews, Student Ranger." The teenager gave himself a short introduction with a nod, and finally got a better look at the person that saved everyone on the boat. Dressed in odd clothes, and shoeless he couldn't help wondering what was up. From his perspective it looked like this person had just stepped out of a time machine. Though, despite his strange looks Curtis generally liked this guy, he seemed genuinely nice.

"Well, it looks like we had a bit of an incident, but things should go smoothly from here on out!" The Ferry Captain said nervously through the intercom, "Ferry will be approaching the dock now."

Curt wondered what the island would look like, untouched by people or even Pokémon species on the land of Rind Island. It's only known inhabitants are various vibrant plants, and it's thriving Magikarp & Gyrados population. It must look awesome, and untouched. This island would be a great example of nature in it's rawest form, something that was almost extinct in this day and age. "I'm pretty excited to see the Island, don't think I could see something like this back home in Kanto," Curt told their savior whilst pointing at the jumping carp. "How do they all find this place?" he questioned, when suddenly the ferryboat halted on Rind's Dock.

It seemed the boy wasn't going to shake off his advice, which was good for him. He was even praising Ashura's actions with the usually vicious Pokémon, but Ashura knew that any Pokémon was not inhenrantly evil or even violent. "It was nothing so great, just making things easier for everyone involved" replied Ashura in a modest tone. He claimed to be a Curtis Matthews, a student ranger of all things. It piqued his interest, that a Ranger felt that battle was the only way to calm a Pokémon. "I guess you don't have one of those spin top things yet, don't they calm Pokémon somehow" inquired Ashura.

The captain made the announcement, that they were arriving on the island shortly. The junior ranger was excited about the island, as was Ashura but he'd seen beautiful nature before back home. But this place was relatively untouched by human hands, and the only pokčmon were the seasonal Magicarp and Gyarados. Which left the plants to dominate the land itself, which was something Ashura was looking forward to seeing. "I'm used to beautiful nature, my home is surrounded by it. But seeing it untouched by the hands of people, will be good to see" added Ashura. "I believe it's hardwired into them, and it's their birthplace" informed Ashura.

Curt nodded in agreement at the boy's statement, it was easier for everybody. The crowd was beginning to scatter around them, as the boat closed in on the dock. Then the floating boy mentioned a spin top thing that confused him for a moment. "You mean a Styler? Noo, I use the old fashioned pokeballs" He explained, "I'm still pretty new to being one, still haven't completed my training to become an offical Ranger yet..." He sort of sighed after this statement, and had to admit it was taking a bit longer than he had hoped. Though, he could understand why when Curt couldn't even stop an angry Gyardos..

A sharp thud was felt across the ship when they docked, and the crew was finally letting passengers off of the Ferry. That was when the stranger mentioned being surrounded in nature constantly back home, and Curt marveled at that statement. Then this young kid talked about this location being hardwired in their brain, and really blew the teenager back. Obviously Curt was the elder of the two from the looks of it, however this kid was definitely miles ahead of him when it came to understanding nature, and Pokémon. "Always living in it hmm?" Curt said thinking about it for a moment, "I'll admit I'm jealous, it must feel so free. Are you a local?" Frankly the teen couldn't tell from the looks of this kid. He was definitely describing somewhere Curt's never seen.

Ashura listened to Curt as he replied to his question about Stylers, he couldn't quite remember the name and was glad he was corrected. But the young rookie said that he didn't have one yet and merely used pokeballs, but it seemed to sadden Curt that he hasn't been successful in achieving official ranger status. "Well i wish you good luck in your training" replied Ashura with a smile.

Standing on the deck Ashura returned his Candlure to its ball, while the ship started to dock with the island. As it was docking, the rookie ranger spoke once more in response to his previous statement about living in or around nature. Smiling once again as the boy spoke about being jealous of such things, and asked if he was somehow a local of here. But it was widely documented that no one but Magikarp and Gyarados lived on this island, though he may have meant the chain itself. "No I come from Oblivia, its still fairly untamed and not many live there. Those that do live in small communities, often surrounded by the untamed nature around them" explained Ashura.
