"Hoh..the little girl has certainly grown up, hasn't she..? You do remember me, right Sabri-chan? We didn't know one another long. But, it's not a big deal. Perhaps you'd recognize me if I was in a black uniform with a half-cape and the 'R' insignia on it? I admit I might have appeared a little younger there..we went on that one ice cream date. I'm not surprised you don't remember, it wasn't very memorable. Faust. Darius Faust. Of the Four Beasts. Former Rocket." You know, looking at him thinking about that..yeah. Yeah, that was him alright. How long had it been since that time? He'd been an unreadable enigma at that time too. And here he was, in the middle of this mess, with all the legendaries floating around. Wherever he went, trouble had a tendency to follow. Or maybe he found where trouble was happening. Who could say. He turned though, and gestured at the young girl beside him. "And this, Miss Sabrina..is your daughter. Van." ...Oh, that sounded reasonable. Wait, daughter? Most likely Sabrina would remember ever having given birth, and since that hadn't happened, there was likely no way it had happened. But there she was. And..she..did look sort of familiar...but..a daughter? That was odd. But he obviously wasn't lying. Sense it or not, there was no deception. |

Van was still disoriented, and that was the rub of it, wasn't it? She was disoriented, and that left her a little more vulnerable than she would have otherwise been. With one hand still gripping her head, she extended the other outward, as if to ward off the psychic energy that washed out from Sabrina when she nuked the nearby stuff. But that wasn't the issue. The issue was the loop that was created, and the reinforcement of the barrier that went up around Sabrina's gym. Any non-living matter that Sabrina didn't recognize, was toast, specifically, exploding toast. Any living-matter that shared the same essential psychic recognition of the creatures crawling across the city? Also toast. Anyone human? That would fall to Sabrina's discretion. The young woman raised her head then, eyes looking to the other brown haired woman across from her. "....my ...Mother?" |

There was a tug, that unmistakable feeling that happened when someone melded with her power. She looked to the younger girl. Then she looked to Faust. Ahhh... now she remembered. yes, they had pursed a date at some time, back when she and he were both much younger. In truth, she had gone with him out of intrigue and admiration. She had never been able to read him, not even back then, and that was both of the aforementioned things. But that was in the past now. "It's been awhile, Faust." Sabrina felt the involuntary yank of energy river from the girl to herself and outlet into the barrier she had built. It reinforced and strengthen the structure, and the gym leader could feel the additions. Interesting. She looked back to the girl once more. She was powerful, very much so. Perhaps with the potential to be even more powerful than Sabrina herself. But she obviously had to master control, though she made champion efforts. The Gym Leader raised an eyebrow at the comments. Perhaps in a happier time she might have been shocked by the statement, even stumbled over her words. But in the state she was in, she was in no joking mood. "I believe you're mistaken? I would remember such a thing." But the girl did look familiar, and Faust didn't seem to be lying. Sabrina met Van's eyes. The girl looked frazzled. Perhaps she was overcharged by the empathic waves from the burst of the explosion or the appearance of the spawn. Perhaps the connection of hers and Sabrina's powers had caused her to overextend. The Gym Leader frowned and reached out to the girl mentally, easing a protective curtain around to block the torrents of pain and suffering from the world around. It didn't matter to Sabrina if the girl could do or had done it already to the best of her ability, in the Gym Leader's rational, extra always helped. She then pushed forward, gently and with the intention of seeking permission before she tried to draw a truth or answer from Van's mind and memories as to Faust's statement. After all, memories could prove a swifter way to explain things, but Sabrina was not keen on doing so if Van disapproved. |

Faust shook his head then. It wasn't to dissuade Sabrina, no. It was rather than he wanted to explain it, because even Van hadn't heard the entire story. She knew it, as she'd lived it, but he'd been there when the idea came about. He knew about the whole thing, because they at the time, had wanted his expert opinion on how the experiment would work out. Being what he was, they knew he had an ability; so he had been asked to give an opinion. It was right about the time he left Rocket, in fact. No one had known why he'd left. Just that..he had. Of course, they hadn't actually done the experiment till later. He'd been gone a little while by that point. He squeezed Sabrina's shoulder, and looked somewhat apologetic. "I spoke against it, not only because of the unknown factor, but also because..well. I was rather fond of you. Oh, it wasn't love or anything like that. But you were very much like an old student of mine from a long time ago..despite being so jaded at such a young age, you had so much interest, such an inquisitive mind. You were like a tiny little girl. I guess if you knew the truth, it wouldn't be far off from that. In any case. Van here. She's..a Rocket experiment. Domino was at the head of it. She wanted a being that would surpass anything known before. There was an incident some time ago. A being was cloned from Mew that turned out to be a superior one. But..he began to use his power for darkness, as he despised humans after things happened to him. he eventually changed, of course. But had to make his presence forgotten. He and I met, far back. He erased the memories of Giovanni and Domino that he existed..but his power didn't work against me as well. He also didn't care. He knew I wouldn't give him away. The problem was, Domino..was careful. She had a failsafe, and records..well. Let's just say she was able to acquire genetic material. And she had material from you as well, on record..from various blood samples, plasma, hair..so..when the DNA was combined with Rocket's highest level technology. What they got was..your daughter. Born of you and their first experiment in cloning. The first truly complete Human-Pokémon hybrid..with all the psionic potential of you and Mewtwo. That is her..that is Van." He sighed then..and shook his head. "I am sorry, Sabrina. I suppose it's a lie to say 'if I could have stopped them'..I know I could have. I could have killed Domino easily enough, but..some part of me perhaps, missed you. Missed the you of then. You know, I used to have a child. A son, in fact. And a wife. I lost them a long time ago. I killed them. Not intentionally, no. But it was still my doing..and I felt maybe..if that woman went on with this fool project, I could find the child at the moment of conception, and take her away. Raise her as my own. But at that time..I was in a bad state. Battle went wrong. Unusual for me. I found out about it much later. I was already too late. But I found her, after her escape. And here she is. I suppose it's the legacy of a selfish old man. We've all made our mistakes. What Rocket took from you, used without your knowledge..I suppose it is unforgivable. It was part of the reason I left. I could have destroyed it. But I was just as guilty. Maybe I felt if something good could come of it. Ah, but who am I kidding. I just remember how sweet you were under all those shadows. I missed having a child. As much as I would have liked to be more romantic with you, I think what stopped me was I saw you more as a little girl than a woman. Call it nostalgia. Call it bad judgment. How you use this is your discretion, of course. But it might be best used later. There are lives to save. Enemies to kill." |

Van lifted her head again, meeting Sabrina's eyes. There was a familiar light inside them, but they were shadowed, as if the girl had seen too much. To be not very old, her eyes were practically ancient. "You're Sabrina." It was a statement of fact, not a question. "Which makes you, at least biologically, my mother." She pushed against the wall she'd fallen against, staggering, before she regained her footing. One hand lifted to rub the side of her arm, and she turned her head, looking off to the side, suddenly uncomfortable. But when Sabrina probed at her mind, she let her in, let her see. Drew her into the flower-filled field of her mindscape, and stood across from her, as the woman got to watch the events of her life unfold. The experiments. Her stages of growth. That first snowy night she had after she'd left the Rocket facility. What happened when anyone touched her, the reason she had next to no physical contact from anyone until Faust. The training with Faust to help her get a handle on her powers. The constant headaches. And the overwhelming cry of voices, just one moment, every voice in the world, like a heavy weight. And the agony endured when suddenly, so many voices were silenced from the bomb. And then, Van was pushing, nudging Sabrina out of her mindscape, putting her barriers back into place, one careful layer at a time. She shrugged lightly, and folded her arms across her chest, leaning against the wall, more for support. She'd been hesitant to ever let anyone into her mind that way. But Sabrina, she felt, could handle it. "..." |

Sabrina "watched" silently as the girl, Parvana, showed her through a mind-scape and memory well of pain and loneliness. The master Psychic's lips slowly pursed together are she relived Van's life. How awful, unthinkable, it must have been to be in that situation. To be unable to live life in the proper stages; childhood with a loving family, adolescence with all its bumps and bruises, adulthood with the finding of self, purpose and love, with all its tragedies and bounties and boons. To be unable to experience friendship, companionship or love as it was meant to be. To be unable to hold a friend's hand or feel a love's embrace without the emotional backwash and raiding of their mind on your own. Let alone the fact that Van had never had the semblance enough of a normal life to even make a proper friend or find a love of her own. Sabrina was no stranger to childhood and life being not quite what it should have been. The woman herself had led a life of mishap and shadows since her youth, spending a childhood tormented by powers that were far beyond her years and then a youth wiling her time away committing crimes not dissimilar to what Van's creators had worked. But at least Sabrina had had a youth. Parvana... She had been thrust into adulthood, shoved to the cold snow that night, well before her time. She had been forced to miss everything Sabrina would have ever wished upon a child of her own, all the mistakes of her own youth she had sworn to correct when she bore a son or daughter, and the woman could feel her heart breaking for Van in such a way that the Psychic betrayed her emotions by a slight tremble. The woman's eyes locked on Van's. She stepped forward, a hand's width from the girl, and she reached up in a motion that, for all the world, suggested she would cup the girl's cheek. But she did not. A cushion of psychic power formed around Sabrina's hand, which would allow Sabrina to apply the same pressure and soothing warmth that such an action caused, but with all lack of psychic contact. The Gym Leader had seen in Van's memory the shared pained that physical touched caused, and that was the last thing that Sabrina wanted to cause the girl. "I'm so sorry, my child. Had I known, I would have done everything in my power to save you from it." The words bore all the regret and sorrow that a mother would have used to address her own child. Sabrina knew as Van knew, they were related by genetic experiment only, but to Sabrina who cherished life and youth for what it was, felt a connection with the girl that could only be described as mother-like. The future and life was often a mystery to Sabrina. And though she was gifted with one of the greatest abilities in foresight known in the day in age, there were many things she could not foretell. But, with all her heart, Sabrina wished she had foreseen such a tragedy befalling Van. There was never one such thing she had ever wanted to foretell more. A second or two would pass, while Sabrina thought over this turmoil of emotion and knowledge. She looked to Faust and nodded. "I wish you had told me, but I understand why you did not." She shook her head. If she was not certain that Domino had run for the hills, Sabrina would have hunted the woman down. But it would do no good at this stage. The former leader of Rocket had given away leadership, that information was known to her. So chasing Domino out would be for revenge only, and, in truth, it was not her revenge to pursue alone, as it also was Van's. Nor, also, was it the time for such thoughts. The woman turned from the three people in her room and walked to a control panel that was built into the wall near her desk. She placed a hand on it and unlocked the psychic-lock within. The door opened and she began to flip a number of levers found within. The result was a sudden shift in electricity of the Gym. Lights brightened, instead of the dim mood lighting she used for meditating and to set the style of her Gym's atmosphere. Within the the Gym itself? Transportation panels flickered out, while doors opened in every disconnected room. There would be no need for puzzles today. They were a hassle only. A handful of the Trainers that studied under her she could sense were still here. One of them entered after a short minute. He opened his mouth to talk, but then thought better or it at the sight of Faust and the others. Sabrina spoke to him. "Go to the entrance and wait there. We will be having visitors soon, if I'm not mistaken. See they don't destroy what's left of my Gym." The man nodded and left once more, taking two more with him. Sabrina rubbed her forehead and turned to the three in her room. "I foresaw terrible things. But not this. Not on this scale. Sometimes the future is so clouded. I would have prepared better had I know this was coming. Faust, we may be able to clear the city, but they produce on such a scale that we will never get rid of them all. Some of them will escape us. I'm afraid that it's finally begun, the being beyond has begun its war." |

"The future is clouded because man is not meant to know. I have felt this disturbance for the past several years, Sabrina. You can sense it in the air..in the life energy. I've only seen this occur once in my lifetime. I guess I haven't told you everything about myself, or why I am the way I am. It will be enlightening for this young lady as well. Darius Faust isn't my real name. That should come as no surprise. But, the truth is, I've been alive since the days of the ancient cities. This being has made moves throughout history. It corrupted my king and led him to commit acts of darkness in the name of immortality. In the warring states era, it possessed a warlord who flirted too closely with darkness. I have seen it all. Three thousand years and perhaps more I have wandered this earth. During my youth, I was part of a dark ritual that merged part of me with the being you call Darkrai. That is why you cannot read me, Sabrina. And it is why I can touch Van without harming her. I essentially have the 'Dark Type' infused into my being from a creature of immense power. Heh. It blocks your psionic waves. The Dark Type is a sort of void, from my studies. It takes in psychic waves and..well, it's almost like a counter-magnetic field, I think. In any case, I am an Aura Guardian from many ages ago. Perhaps one of the last true Aura Guardians left that remembers the old ways. The old creed. There are a few left..but most of them are old. They don't have the benefit of my immortality. But I..am afraid that how I attained it was something I did not forsee. I had nearly perfected the formula. When I finished it..my entire city was wiped out. I killed every living thing. Every person. My own wife and child. My mind was hazy then. I'd just been fused with Darkrai, and I was..more than a little mad. When I finally came to realization after what I'd done, I decided to do everything I could to make amends. To advanced humanity. But there must always be darkness. And..here it is. The third recorded invasion of that power. But this one is using weapons of the modern age..it will be much harder now." He sighed then. He knew he could trust Sabrina with the information. And the young alchemist already knew he knew of the stone. And he'd just told her the cost. She'd lost her parents. But he..killed an entire city dead. His wife and child, his friends, his mentors..wiped an entire civilization out, instantly. How heavy must his conscience be, after three millennia of wandering? They might see it for a moment. Just how old he was. It showed in his eyes. He didn't have the signs of age people normally looked for, but his eyes were so very tired. Van already knew this story; he'd told her one night. He shook his head again. "I am so very tired, Sabrina. But my penance is not complete. And it will never be, I think. Ever shall I wander, aiding the weak, observing the strong. Preserving the balance of the world." |

Parvana lifted her head as Sabrina spoke, and when the woman extended her hand, she fought not to recoil, instead stiffening her back like a ramrod, and inclining her head toward the pressure, but slightly, when it applied to her cheek. This warmth, was this what a person felt when they were touched by a mother? To the child who knew far too much, this was the most indescribable feeling she'd ever had. Her eyes drifted closed and she smiled. "Thank you, Sabrina." When she spoke, her voice was soft, as her eyes opened. "But my experiences have strengthened me into the woman I have become. I am better for them, no matter how terrible." She stepped back then, leaning against the wall again, listening, as she fortified her mental barriers once again, reaching tendrils of thought out here and there, towards the people in the city. If she could get a good focus on what was going on, and where, she could determine where the creatures were the most concentrated, as well as track any that went into hiding. She couldn't do that by linking to the creatures themselves, because of their nature, but she could touch the minds of those fighting them, which was a better proposition. |

Coming from Goldernrod city was the Kanto to Johto line and at this time of night it was fairly void of passengers except one teenage boy, Hyetal Warner a well known name in coordinating had decided to take a trip into Kanto though why he choose the dead of night is hard to say. His old girlfriend live in Kanto now and she wanted to catch up with him, she was going to meet him at the station but he wasn't scheduled to arrive for a fair while Hyetal was sure she would yet have gotten to the city. As she often liked making him wait so he looked out the window of the train to enjoy the night surroundings, he had turned around to have a drink from a juice he bought at the station before leaving. When the night sky behind him lit up like sunlight and blast irradiated out from Saffron causing the train to waver on the tracks, then the secondary blast and return waves sent the train off the tracks derailing outside the city. Hyetal was thrown around like a rag doll as the train flipped over a few times before resting against some nearby trees, the crash sent Hyetal into a wall and knocked him out cold for several hours. He awoke in the early morning where he then released he'd been in a train wreck and remembered the flash of light and following blast, meaning something horrible had happened to Saffron as he slowly got up and looked out of the broken carriage to Saffron. Hyetal saw smouldering and broken buildings now littered the Saffron sky line but his main concern was his ex hoping she' not entered the city during the occurrence, getting to his feet Hyetal walked through a puddle of water which helped sooth any issues he'd acquired during the crash and he started heading into town. Taking up to half an hour to get into town Hyetal held his staff in his hands as some crazy creature came from nowhere and tried attack him, Blocking it with his staff and pushing it away Hyetal wondered what it was. It wasn't a Pokémon that he was certain of and if it was it wasn't from any of the known regions, he'd paid attention to his schooling and knew of no Pokémon like this. "Don't know what your issue is creature, but leave before I skewer you" warned Hyetal as he was in no mood to be his laid back self, his mission persona had taken over because of the fear for his ex's life. In truth she wasn't his ex as they were going out when he disappeared so in truth they never broke up, but that didn't matter as the red and black creature charged him so with a flick of the wrists his staff turned into a spear. Running the thing through Hyetal kicked it off his spear and continued walking into Saffron, Something hinky is going on here thought Hyetal as he came closer to the Saffron boarder as more of those creatures appeared "Great, just what I need" sighed Hyetal. |

Laura..was going numb. The Pokémon in front of her THAT HAD JUST TALKED then MORPHED INTO A HUMAN BEING and still called down thunder. Between the previous events of the day and this...Laura was finally getting just a tad bit overwhelmed. Which is about when the military people showed up. The offer to help did get Laura's mind to clear a bit, And she shook her head to clear it a bit before looking up at one of the guys, the one who had spoken to her. He'd..actually admitted that they'd lost their retreat route? Ok this dude wasn't the normal cocky military guy. Cool. "Uh..right..thanks for that." She stood, Dusting herself off and then recalling her Pokémon. Maybe she could get at least a basic firearm from the dudes at the gym..she didn't want to get even her Pokémon to close to these guys, and she at least knew how to shoot a pistol. Albeit a standard police pistol which was almost certainly inferior to the seafoams military issues, but hey, seafoam didn't exist when she'd manipulated that young man into teaching her how to use a pistol properly. Of course the ease of which she'd manipulated that guy was probably due to the fact of how many bribes he'd taken she'd found out about, but if it worked it worked. It was the corrupt officers own fault if anyone asked her. Not that she'd tell them how she learned to shoot a pistol if indeed she got a hold of one. She started to walk towards the medical van before stopping, turning to stare at the creatures as a thought hit her. "HEY! THOSE SONS OF A..THEY..THEY JUST GOT THAT BUSINESS MEETING CANCELLED DIDN'T THEY?! " She growled holding up a fist. As much as she wanted to cut loose on those ugly ..THINGS...her pokemons health came first. She'd have them checked out back at the gym, then she'd figure out how she could help these guys kick their scrawny ugly asses...or whatever served as their asses... back to...where ever they came from. Yeah that sounded like a good idea. So she stomped over to the medical van and got in, finding a seat to occupy and doing so, preferably beside Bella if she could. Oh she'd make these sewer scum things pay dearly for making her lose a chance at a monetary gain for her daddy's business. When daddy was happy her supply of money was good, and that meant she was usually quite happy. She'd make them pay twice over for possibly hurting her money stream that she'd EARNED with her own sweat tears and wits. But for now..She'd let the military guys and gals have their fun. |

With the immediate area clear of hostile contacts, Ros' squad continued to hold perimeter security while the civilians boarded the medevac Stryker, unaware that two of the civilians were, in fact, Legendary Pokémon in their own right who could have just flown to the Gym under their own power. Would the two Legendaries chose to head over on their own, the same thing would happen then as would if they boarded the vehicles and went along with the others: The medevac Stryker would button up, the soldiers would reboard their vehicle, and the three-vehicle convoy would make its way the short distance to the Gym. "Hell of a light show a second ago," Sullivan remarked while the vehicle was in motion, counting the ammunition remaining in the current box magazine of his light machine gun. "Yeah, opened us up some breathing room, at least," Gilbert replied, yawning slightly. "Oughta buy us some time until the Air Force gets here." "Grizzly Actual, this is Wolverine Two, we are currently engaging enemy sludgemonsters. How copy, over?" "This is Grizzly, solid copy. All Grizzly teams, be advised, Wolverine is now engaged with foot-mobiles to our nine o'clock." Cocking his head slightly to hear the radio chatter better, Ros consulted his tactical pad on his left wrist to check unit designations. Grizzly was another Stryker brigade combat team like themselves, and Wolverine was a unit of dismounted infantry working to search and rescue survivors to the east, in the less-damaged sector of the city. A glance at the vehicle commander's tactical map screen showed that those units were now making their way through what was left of the downtown area. "Grizzly, this is Grizzly Two. Interrogative: are we clear to use our thermobaric LAWs, over?" "Two, Three, what's your target?" "Whole mass of uglies and two or three of those hives in building Alpha Two-Five. It'll be easier if we drop the whole building, over." "Two-Three, confirm building Alpha Two-Five is the Kanto Federal Reserve building." "Two, Two-Three, roger that, thing's crawling with these nasties." "I'm going to have to check in with Magic, standby." By then, the Strykers had arrived at the Saffron Gym. The three vehicles hesitated before the semi-transparent dome of the barrier, unsure if they could pass through it. Several other Strykers and infantry squads had already arrived at the Gym and were setting up firing positions. "Hunter Three-Actual, Viper Two-One. It safe to drive through this thing?" their vehicle commander queried. "Roger that, Viper Two-One, we can pass right through it. Come join the party, would you?" "Solid copy, inbound." The Strykers moved through the barrier, with the purple hazed edge actually passing through the interior of the vehicle as well, with no ill effects on personnel or equipment. "Well, that was weird," Gilbert remarked. "Kinda like the Didact's super-high energy scan in Halo 4." "Don't explain the joke," Sullivan frowned. In short order, Viper Two's Strykers reached the front of the Gym, where the soldiers were disembarked, along with the civilians, at which point the armed Strykers would take a place in the skirmish ring that was being formed around the Gym. As the soldiers escorted the civilians up the steps toward the Gym, a distant crack and rumbling sound caught the squad's attention and turned them to look back out over the city. In the far distance, a cloud of smoke and construction debris billowed out from what remained of the downtown area as the central banking building of Saffron wobbled in place for a moment, then slowly collapsed in a sort of half-falling over, half-telescoping in on itself motion. "Shit, looks like those guys in Wolverine got let off the chain," Gilbert observed. |

Lugia waited, watching over as whomever might get on the Stryker did. Whether Latios and Latias flew or rode to the gym, or whether they disembarked entirely, Lugia himself took to the air as the convoy began to move. He cast his mental abilities ahead, nudging the surface of the barrier before them. Giving Sabrina a warning that they were approaching. Sabrina nodded silently, contemplating the story Faust unraveled. Truth be told, as farfetched as Faust's tale was... it really wasn't phasing her. She believed the man because she had never, not once in the entire time she'd know him or known about him, here him give false testimony on such matters. His words answered many questions and left many new ones unattended to. But, that was a matter for another time. The girl shook her head as she began to make her way towards the front of her gym, leaving it up to Faust, Parvana and the frail girl who had mostly become a ghost, only watching, if they wanted to follow or not. She exited the building as the vehicles approached and began to unload. It was now that a building crumpled upon the horizon of downtown. Sabrina watched it happen with no emotion. It was just another wound upon her city. Lugia himself landed upon the roof of the Gym. The building did not even wince at his weight. The bird kept watch. It was mostly arbitrary, Sabrina's wiping had cleared the area, but now was certainly no time to let their guard down. Sabrina herself sought out the officer in charge of the new arriving team. She ducked into the Stryker, whether or not she was cautioned against it by anyone was their problem. To be fair, she wasn't in the mood, and as hyper aware as she was of military protocol concerning civilians, she didn't think this was time to beat around the bush. That being said, she found captain in the Stryker he commanded. "Captain, you're in charge of this outfit, I presume?" |

The Twin Wanderers somewhat regretted their empathetic abilities. It allowed them to be too attached. They had used up a lot of energy on their combination, and they were knocked out for awhile after that. Invisibly, of course. Latios and Latias awoke to the shadow of a departing Lugia. Their pursuit began with fervor, and they mutually requested a summary of what happened from the Guardian of the Sea. |

Walking the streets of Saffron, was Hyetal Warner who was covered in red and black goo. Holding a spear in one hand, and slowly hobbling through the streets. The young Aqua grunt rested down on the road, near where the station was supposed to be. Getting showered by a broken water main, Hyetal was washed clean of both goo and injury. Looking up to see the smoke filled sky, he looked towards where he knew the gym to be. And was astounded to see the legendary Pokémon Lugia sitting a top the Saffron gym, newly refreshed Hyetal got up and started heading towards the gym. He figured if there was any resistance against these creatures, it would likely be there or at the very least they may have some information on what's happening. Hyetal was getting closer to the gym and so far he hadn't seen anymore of those things, he figured the people at the gym must of done something about. Being psychics he figured they'd be able to fight off these things off, so as he got on the street the gym was on Hyetal could certainly see Lugia sitting on the gym building. But he could also see a big energy shield of some sort surrounding the place "Damn, well at least those things arent around" commented Hyetal as he got in front of the gym. He noticed a military presence in the barrier, he was thinking of calling out to them but he remembered that he had his Team Aqua belt on, mostly because his girl liked to see it on him which reminded that she was his main reason for searching this place. Then it clicked to him, Hyetal put his hand in his pocket and attempted to use it to call his girlfriend. She picked up and told him, through crackles that she hadn't made it to the city and was stuck in Celadon. Hanging up Hyetal and his personality returned to its laid back default setting, and returning it to his pocket Hyetal found a place to sit and sat down. |

As the vehicle they were in started to move (she didn't know the name of it right now, and at the moment she didn't care too much) Laura finally relaxed a little bit, breathing a small sigh of relief as she made sure not to grumble to her self about the less than spacious interior. She was lucky they'd bothered to pick her up probably. But when it came time for hte vehicle to pass through the barrier she looked towards the driver, unsure why he seemed to hesitate, before she saw the glowy wall approaching and stiffened, just...sitting like a statue as it passed through her. After a moment she shivered, finding that intangible wall to be rather..creepy for some reason. At least with metal detectors you KNEW what it did. Not to mention you didn't see it scanning you you just knew it was there. Of course when a lady who was clearly non-military came in and started acting like she was the boss of the place, Laura shook her head to get her wits together again. She didn't know who this lady was but whoever she was, she was not happy. It was like...the air one gave off when someone had crossed a line they probably shouldn't have, yet it wasn't in her tone of voice, or the way she carried herself..it was like...a feeling or something. Laura didn't fully understand, who the heck in this city would be like that just by walking in...unless that wasn't the cause. If it was the state of the city, she wondered why they weren't more concerned about the people, until she realized that the ladies face was familiar from various articles and stuff she'd seen over the years. Wasn't that the gym leader here? Oh. That meant the people and the city were two parts of the same place then. Hm. Maybe the gym leader could show her a way to help out to get even with the jackass's that ruined the day. Then again asking for help from a gym leader was rather..hard for her. She could come right back with witty retorts to some high end CEO's, but talking to gym leaders was hard. |
