“Citizens of the world…” William began, staring directly at the camera to his front. He’d never before given a public address like this. A speech every now and then to the troops, sure, back when he was in the Corps. Back then, though, what he said wasn’t governed by a script or the stifling limitations of talking to civilians. His men were Marines: they appreciated foul language. “ Our world is filled with darkness: criminal syndicates run rampant, corrupt governments leave the people they should protect quaking in fear, innocent children sleep in gutters, starving, while immoral men and women live in perpetual, wasteful excess; disease, poverty, bigotry, Pokémon abuse, drugs, war, and a slew of other problems infest our society like cancers.”

He clenched his fists on the podium and wondered if his hatred of all these things could possibly translate through the screen to his audience. “I come before you today to tell you that these diseases can be beaten back. There is hope. And that hope lies with the newest nation to join the world’s stage: the Republic of Seafoam.” The cameras would zoom out now, revealing Seafoam’s crest on the podium as well as a pair of screens behind him. The screens would cycle through images taken from Seafoam as he spoke.

“The island chain, purchased from the Kanto region, has been terraformed in what is likely the greatest feat of human engineering history has ever seen. They now exist as a country unto themselves.” The screens at his back would be showing pictures taken during the terraformation and construction phases: raising land from the sea, planting vast forests of trees, building modern cities that, soon, would be bustling with commerce.

“The nation is poised as a vanguard against the coming darkness. A shield to protect. A sword to attack.” The damn lights felt like they were giving him sunburn. Perhaps his darkest suit wasn’t such a good idea. Behind him, photos of a small fraction of Seafoam’s military forces would be cycling. Tanks rolling through deep jungle, jets on maneuver, enormous ships cutting through azure waters, an infantry company clearing a mock village made of shipping containers. This was familiar territory now. It’s all about motivation, he mused as he continued.

“Seafoam stands on the very cusp of battle. Ready at any time to tirelessly defend that which we hold dear and furiously eliminate those that would threaten it.” The ultimatum delivered, it was time to give the caveats. “Seafoam will not attack other nations without provocation. We will not needlessly invade or slaughter. We refuse to play the vast zero-sum game that the superpowers of the world seem to insist upon.”

He had to hand it to Fleur: she could write one hell of a speech. “Seafoam will not ask for more than we have been given, but neither will we tolerate violations to our sovereignty. To those who would hold the world in the grips of tyranny: fear us. To those who wish for a better life: rally behind us.

“We possess the resilience for unshakable defense, the strength for precise retaliation, the hope for a peaceful future, and the light for the coming Darkness.”
He hoped that the audience could feel his sincerity. “Ours is a nation for those who love freedom – freedom from want, from tyranny, from fear itself. My name is William Blackmoore IV, and I, personally, invite you, people and Pokémon alike, to join the Republic of Seafoam. Thank you, and good night.” The red diode above the camera’s lens winked out as the director called cut. William breathed a sigh and looked around the room.

The small gathering was comprised of some of Seafoam’s first media personnel. They were assigned to watch the Commander-in-Chief's every move, which was to say: his every move. “Now, ladies and gentlemen,” he said to them after taking a gulp from a proffered water bottle, “The real work begins.”

[This event is canon. Individuals wanting to participate will need to arrive by ship. The cruise leaves Cinnabar Island and arrives at the Gateway City, on Island One. The event will last from June 24, 2012 through August 24, 2012. Participants of this event will get a Black Lace Onyx and Tanzanite Sharpedo added to their PC post for them to remember the event by. Thank you, and enjoy.]

Big Boss of Seafoam

The 24th of June, the grand opening of the Republic of Seafoam, had been decided to be celebrated as Republic Day, marking the date of the nation's birth. And quite a spectacle was being made of that event. Following William's speech announcing the Republic's place on the world stage, a number of events were planned to mark the day. First would be the graduation parade of the first graduates of Seafoam's Armed Forces, followed by an airshow and open house that would last the greater part of the afternoon at the military airfield on Island One, alongside festivities, musical ensembles, and plenty of good eating to be had all across the island until sundown, when a grand fireworks show was planned to take place.

Military Parade Grounds, Gateway City, Island One

Chris took a moment to look down at his short-sleeved blues, ensuring that not a speck of lint could be seen standing out against the light blue fabric. The tropical location in the middle of summer meant that the heat was sweltering, but he didn't seem to be sweating through yet. Around him, the other fifty-nine members of his flight—not a single one had washed out or been recycled—milled about making last minute checks of themselves and their fellows before the parade began. Staff Sergeant Christy, the flight's assistant MTI, wandered about the gathering of newly-minted airmen, lending a hand as well in making sure that their uniforms were top-notch.

Nobody called the room to attention when Staff Sergeant Reilly entered—as Sergeant Christy was already in the room—but their lead MTI's presence was not missed by anyone. "Crowds are starting to show up, let's get out there and put on the show they're looking to see." The hard-assed facade of the drill sergeant had vanished entirely with their completion of training; he was still a strict professional, but not liable to go off at the drop of a hat as he had been during training. "Today, you're airmen, members of the..." The pause was very brief, as he had been about to say 'United States,' but caught himself at the last. "...Republic of Seafoam Air Force. Training you has been a learning experience for all of us, and it is my honor to see all of you wearing the uniform."

Nothing more needed to be said, really. But it would be anyway. The dorm chief, a tall and built man three years younger than Chris, stood up and spoke, "Sir, Airman Rhodes reports as ordered. We've all gone through a lot of emotion during the past eight and a half weeks, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that we have been honored to have yourself and Staff Sergeant Christy as our instructors."

Sergeant Reilly nodded to the dorm chief, and that was that. Without any other word, the group left the small building on the edge of the parade field and assembled into formation with a practiced ease. All around them were other formations, two more Air Force, six Navy, four Marines, one Coast Guard, and three Army. The groups were arranged alphabetically, with the Army formations first, followed by the Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy. At the head of all the formations, a mixed honor guard of eight military training instructors from all the services bore the flags of Seafoam herself and all five service branches.

The parade ground was the size of two football fields, and was strategically positioned so that as the squadrons formed up, they would not be seen from the viewing stands. A voice could faintly be heard from the stands over the PA system, doubtless a master of ceremonies beginning the dog and pony show that was the parade.

From the middle of his formation, Chris was focused and ready as his flight positioned itself in the parade formation. A stillness fell over the assembled formations then, marred only by the flags at the head of the group, and the guidon flags for each individual flight, fluttering in the steady breeze.

"The current members of the Republic of Seafoam Armed Forces have all come over from partner nations such as the United States, Kanto, or the United Kingdom. But we do not always intend to rely upon those nations, and it is the ideal of Seafoam to have its own, locally-trained and inducted servicemembers. And so, before you today, you shall witness the first graduating classes of the Republic of Seafoam Armed Forces, trained on our very own islands."

The first strains of music began to play from the band formation as the parade began. All up and down the lines, the preparatory command "Forward!" was echoed by each lead training instructor, followed by the execution command "March!"

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the sworn:
She is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
She hath loosed the fateful lightning of Her terrible swift sword:
Her truth is marching on.

At first, from the stands, nothing would be seen following that echoing command, but it would only be a moment before the gleaming chrome spade-tips of the flags would become visible, the red, purple, white, and gold of Seafoam's national flag standing proudly higher than the others at the head of the formation. And then the veritable sea of marching uniforms would become visible.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Her truth is marching on.

The cheers of the assembled family, friends, visitors, and spectators in the viewing stands soon rose to challenge the volume of the national anthem of Seafoam amplified from the band, and the voice of the master of ceremonies as he announced each formation as they passed.

I have seen Her in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Her an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I have read Her righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
Her day is marching on.

Even knowing that only two or three of those gathered had come to see him, Chris couldn't help the feeling of immense pride that swelled in his chest hearing both the crowd and the anthem of his new nation. It took a vast amount of his concentration to keep his military bearing, to not let the emotion overwhelm him and remain in step with the cadence called by Sergeant Reilly.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the righteous, born of tides, crush the shadow with their heel,
Since She is marching on."

His flight had reached the leading edge of the L-shaped viewing stands, and he could help himself no longer. As surreptitiously as possible, scanning the wildly-disparate masses of individuals with his peripheral vision while not moving his head from forward, he tried to pick out Sabrina and his cousin from the crowd. He checked himself and focused forward again; they were both Gym Leaders from Kanto, distinguished guests that would probably be in the main stand where other VIPs were viewing the procession from.

Just as he turned his eyes forward again, he caught a flicker of a violet ribbon from the corner of his eye; Sohee lurking around the edges of the stands. He suppressed a smirk.

She has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
She is sifting out the hearts of men before Her judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Her! Be jubilant, my feet!
Our homeland marches on.

It was a staple of his flight's spot in the massed formation that had his flight passing by the main stand at that verse, which he considered to be the best of the lot. "Eyes, right!" Sergeant Reilly called, and on command, Chris and everyone else in the flight but the members of the element closest to the stand snapped their heads forty-five degrees to the right as Reilly saluted the officers in the stand.

Perhaps it was some form of mental guidance from Sohee, or Sabrina, or both, but his gaze landed directly on the Saffron City Gym Leader, next to whom stood the Celadon Gym Leader, who had raised him since he was a child, his cousin, Erika. He kept his bearing still, his face impassive, but he knew that both women knew he had seen them, and mentally smirked.

In the beauty of the lilies, She was born across the sea,
With a glory in Her bosom that transfigures you and me:
As She strives to make men strong, let us die to make men free,
While She is marching on.

From here, the parade was pretty much downhill as far as Chris was concerned. Each formation turned a left column once they were passed the main stand, circling back around and lining up in neat rows across the field, marching in place while the others moved into position.

She is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
She is Wisdom to the mighty, She is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be Her footstool, and the soul of Time Her slave,
Seafoam marches on.

Once all the formations were in place, they were called to halt, and then put into parade rest. Some high-ranked figure wearing an Army uniform, probably a Chief of Staff or something, delivered a brief speech about the values and honor of the services each individual was about to enter, which to be frank, Chris did not really listen to. His gaze was above and behind that officer, fixed on Sabrina and internally amused as she maintained her stoic public image.

Finally, the part that he and the others had to pay attention to came: administering (for about the fourth time) the oath of enlistment. On command, he and all the others raised their right hand and repeated in the words of the Army general:

"I, Christopher Ganale, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Seafoam against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the Commander in Chief of the Republic of Seafoam and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulation and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me, Arceus."

After that, the march off the field was entirely automatic on Chris' part, paying no attention to any of it until his flight had been called to a halt near where they had first been formed up and then dismissed.

As soon as they were free, several of his closest friends from the flight sought him out, some of them wearing particularly shit-eating grins. "Alright, Ganale, time to come clean. None of us saw Sabrina so much as twitch when we passed by the reviewing stand."

The new airman could only smirk at his comrades. They'd be getting their proof soon enough.

The Orange Death

It had been a long time since William had driven himself anywhere. Too long. It had been even longer since he had stolen away from a responsibility. To be fair, he didn't view talking to the press as something hugely important. Their questions, no doubt irritating and far too invasive given the nation's youth and purpose, could wait. He wasn't sure who had decided that he should miss out on the graduation of the first class of his country's armed services, but they were likely to be fired very soon.

He was surprised at himself as he climbed out of the car. When had he started thinking of it as "his" country? He would have to change that. This country was no less his than it was Blanchefleur's or General McKay's. It belonged to the people, even if they weren't exactly allowed to have a say in some of the more important decisions.

He moved as quickly as his aging legs would carry him, out of the parking lot and into the stands. General McKay, the Army Chief of Staff, was on his way out. The general stopped mid-stride when he saw William. His arm was half-way up to a salute when William gave him a shake of the head. "Don't worry about it, McKay. You didn't even see me."

He heard the general's confused "yes sir" as he passed the man. Those damn vultures from the press would find out soon enough that William had decided to give them the slip. The last thing he needed was for them to figure out where he was.

He hurried down the stairs at the front of the stands and on to the parade field, knees protesting the rapid descent. The Corps had been good to him in a lot of ways, but joint health was not one of them. He bustled out into the crowd of newly-graduated Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines and started shaking hands. He just knew that he was going to be sick to death of saluting by the end of the day, but it was a small price to pay. These men and women deserved to know that their service was truly appreciated, even all the way up to the top.

Believe in you, who believes in yourself.

It had been quite a voyage. Many of the Kanto and Johto public icons, Gym Leaders and Elites alike, had been invited to the inauguration of the newest region on the world's stage. Many of them had come, but many of them had also remained in their homelands. Sabrina herself, Erika with her, had boarded the ship in Cinnabar to take them the eighty some odd miles out to where Seafoam lay.

It was remarkable to imagine the sheer feat of manpower that it must have taken to create such an island paradise. Smack dab between Kanto and the Orange Islands, a new chain of land now crested the glistening waves of the mother sea.

Sabrina smiled vaguely at this. So this would be Ganale's new home.

She was led by one of Seafoam's representatives to the part of the stands where those few more important figureheads from the other regions would be sitting. She scanned the faces and greeted a few others. Erika was at her side, of course. They had boarded together. She also spotted a few of the board from Silph Co. Perhaps they had come to hawk their technology. Sabrina smirked at that. Best of luck to them, but Seafoam certainly seemed to have technology under wraps already.

There was a clamor of voices as those around her chattered. Erika, polite as ever, kept conversation with those around her. Sabrina, however, remained quiet. She wasn't want for idle banter. Her focus spread out, washing over the souls and presences around her. One anomaly she identified as Sohee. Another, full of vigor and power and a gruff snark, she identified as one Willian Blackmoore. She detected a tinge of discomfort from him. He wasn't the man he had been in his youth, she read from that. Plus, some poor soul was going to regret not getting him to the ceremonies on time.

She cast her attention further, the way a fisherman throws the nets out into the waves in a wide arch. Ahh... there she felt him.

Attentive, exceedingly assured of his achievements, and rightfully so. An emotional maelstrom of swelling pride that threatened to brim over. At this, the slightest smile twitched on Sabrina's lips. Erika turned her head at the sight, and Sabrina flicked her eyes to the shorter Gym Leader, taming the smile. But Erika's eyes danced with mirth, a look that Sabrina returned.

A silence fell over the masses, the buzz of chatter dying down. A faint strain of music started up and became a bursting sound of a symphony as the band began to play. Sabrina focused ahead, adopting that practiced and stoic look she was so good at for public appearances.

The parade grounds in front of her began to flood with the graduates as they marches, carrying the various flags of the nations to which Seafoam sourced her birth from. A single glistening star on a field of blue-violet, boarded in a trim of gold. The banner of Seafoam.

She picked him out easily, even though he looked nearly identical in uniform to the others around him. She didn't even twitch. She was much more poised than that, one of the types who preferred to remain a mystery to to the public masses around her. But as he marched the parade ground and his emotions swelled, as Sohee floated there on the edges of it all, she reached out with her power to nudge him ever so slightly. An unseen force to the public, in this she felt more than at ease to do.

And, when Ganale turned his head, he found her easily.

A buzz of emotion burned inside her. Affection in return to his love, pride at his achievements, mirth at the tinges of snark that she felt from his flight-mates at her apparent lack of reaction. But, mostly, all she felt was unrelenting joy. Words in a letter could not contain all her love of the man down there on the parade grounds, and it had been far too long since they had merely walked together, fingers entwined.

Marching and oaths finished, there was a stir of motion as the air of officiality broke and family and friends began to head off to find their beloved graduates in question. Sabrina stood with Erika a moment or two before the Grass Gym Leader broke conversation with the man she was talking to and both women made their way to where a tangle of new Seafoam enlisted Airmen stood.

As they neared, Erika stood bad a moment, a mild smile on her face. "Go."

Sabrina walked through the newly made Airmen. Some of them parted easily. Others were in a tangle around Ganale, and she could practically feel their snarky-bull shit grins as she walked up behind them.

"Alright, Ganale, time to come clean. None of us saw Sabrina so much as twitch when we passed by the reviewing stand."

She placed a gloved hand on the speaker's shoulder. Reinforcing her strength with psychic ability, she... gently, nudged him aside. She stepped past him. Clad in her much more formal and imposing outfit, not the more modern set she had worn but the split skirt, leggings and boots she was most fond of, she walked up to Ganale and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Congratulations, I am so proud of you."

And, that said, she leaned to him and placed a kiss on his lips. Not the kind that would smother him, not the kind that was showy and over exaggerated. But a true one, one that would prove her affection and her need for his presence after it had been lost to her for so many weeks.

And one that would certainly leave those shit eating grins on the ground where they belonged.

Raal Walked off the boat along with many of the other tourists, looking around the place. Well, judging from the harbor..they'd spared no expenses on making it both functional and organized. He thought back to the broadcast he'd seen. The man had certainly sounded convincing, and he made this place sound idealistic. They would not attack anyone without a good reason, but nor would they let themselves be attacked. To wipe out corruption, and crime in this world..Hell it sounded like something he could get behind.

But that was exactly why he intended to snoop around ab it, to make sure they truly were just that, and not some idealistic nation led by some individual or group that was using that idealism to start a conquest or something. He put a hand on his head, rubbing slightly. He had another damnable headache..he really..needed to do something about that. It was probably the sheer number of people with the excitement that was practically overflowing from everyone in various ways. He watched the ceremony in the stadium, watching the soldiers move with precision. Well, they at least knew how to train these guys. In the rather OVERLY crowded spot he was in, he couldn't see much besides the field itself. He was relieved when people started filtering out of the stadium, and he could get some space.

He looked around as he waited for some tour to start or something, hoping his headache wasn't going to get worse. If this turned out to be completely legitimate..maybe he would go back to kanto. To finally try to finish up business there. He took a deep breathe, trying to calm his nerves. He was uneasy for some reason, and he knew not why he felt like this. So he got to thinking about the most likely tour route. They'd probably go and show them the soldiers again, or would be near there, and then to some of the other facilities. There would be a chance to slip away...with this many people, there had to be.

Big Boss of Seafoam

He tried to keep an impassive face when Sabrina just sort of shoved Morris out of her way, but it was a losing battle and he knew it. His smirk started small, then spread slowly before he wiped a hand over his face to smother and control it.

And then he had an even harder fight on hand to keep from taking Sabrina in his arms, mindful of the much stressed-upon limiting of PDA that all of the MTIs had been stressing the last week. And though it bemused him, that thought did not leave his head when she moved to kiss him, a gentle moment that made the past eight and a half weeks' worth of hell worth every second. He was ready to just plain ignore those PDA rules, but it seemed Sabrina also paid a thought to the very public nature of the event, and so kept it short and chaste.

Naturally, some of the other newly-minted airmen were about to make a fuss, but another fellow airman whose name tag read "FERRO" shooed them away to leave Chris and Sabrina their privacy, turning at the last to give a wink and a thumbs-up to his bunkmate.

That left them in essentially relative privacy, what with everyone else being more concerned about their own reunions with their families. Unsure of what would and wouldn't be considered proper conduct on PDA, he settled for simply holding onto Sabrina's forearms. "I didn't think I was going to make it to today, sometimes."

Without preamble, the hovering form of Sohee flashed into existence near them, drifting about as silently as ever, turning several times as she drifted around them, her closed-eyes gaze taking in the events around her. "Of course you could. You always had it in you. You are destined for great things, after all."

---------------------------------------

For the curious Raal, there was plenty to investigate. Coordinated tour groups were moving around the city, some touring the military airfield, others heading to the town and its beaches. There were quite a few people heading to the flightline of the airfield so that they could tour the static displays of the airshow, which were fully-functional aircraft and weapons systems parked for people to take a look at, and read informational plaques about. In about half an hour, the actual flying portion of the airshow would begin.

Security was not a light undertaking at this festival. Clearly-identifiable military police and security forces guarded against unauthorized access to certain parts of the base, and there was a visible civilian police presence out in the city as well. They were really quite inobtrusive, not doing anything to interfere overtly with the people touring the new nation. And approachable as well; they would give directions to almost anyplace someone could ask to go. It was clear, however, that it would be next to impossible to enter somewhere unauthorized.

Getting in to any place was nothing new for Darius Faust. After all, he had a very unusual power. However, best not to disturb the locals. When he stepped off the ship, he kept his head down with that ever-existing hat sitting over his eyes. Both hands were in his pockets, and he still gave off an odd vibe. I mean, who comes to a festival in a suit like his? But nonetheless, he was here. He raised his eyes briefly and wondered to himself how the next generation would go. Was this the future, as it had been so many times before when he'd seen so many empires rise and fall? Could it stand the test of time? Would it be left behind, or would it stand strong?

It was these things that made him glad to live from time to time. To watch the humans in their growth, to watch their peace and their wars; their mistakes and their discoveries. Ah, it was something beautiful, wasn't it? He wasn't sure if anyone would recognize him. After all, he made no effort to disguise who he was, and with the exception of there being no red 'R' on his suit anymore, the outfit was the same one he wore all those years ago. He seriously doubted anyone would give him trouble though. Even if they did, it wouldn't matter. There wasn't anything here he had to really worry about.

Much as Sabrina before him had done, he allowed himself to extend a net of senses across the entirety of the island they were on. Unlike psychic power however, he scanned more for auras. Each one had a unique color and strength, and his ability was something akin to radar. Well. Alright, not exactly, but that was the closest way to explain it. He recognized several immediately. Erika, the Grass Leader. He'd had run ins with her in his Rocket days. Oh, it had been as enemies, but they'd been civil enemies. Odd how that worked, eh? But he'd always been unfailingly polite, even as a so called villain.

Sabrina of course, he also recognized. How could he not? She was one of the only females that had interested him. He'd considered approaching her for a relationship, but simply because they could have had interesting children. He had no interest in romance, really. Not anymore. He was an alchemist at heart though, and that woman's genes and his..he had a burning curiosity to know what creation they could make. Ha, most might think him mad. Perhaps he was. You had to be a little mad sometimes. Some others he recognized, some he didn't. Well, he'd walk up into the midst and see if anyone remembered him. Honestly, it was on a lark, and that's how he did things when no greater scale was on the line.

Though he had to wonder as he walked along..with all the disturbances he'd felt of late, would this place become a central point for attracting such disturbances? Heh, it might be interesting. He'd hang around these people whether they were square with it or not.

Raal was starting to follow one of hte tours, intending to get a knowledge of the basic area before trying anything while he waited for a chance. However, whether he liked it or not, his plans got a sudden change in the form of a large, rabbit Pokémon. His lopunny. Even though she'd evolved relatively recently, she'd remained as curious and spontaneous as ever.

Problem was, she had gotten HARDER to catch once she went off on a random path, and had gotten MORE hyper. SO even though he knew she'd gotten out of her Poké Ball the minute it happened by the time he'd turned and held up her Poké Ball she was already on a path that was impossible to hit her with the red beam of her Poké Ball. She bounced all over the place, going so far as to pick up one of the guards by the hands and spin him around before setting him down and moving on...PAST where he was supposed to be guarding. She did it all so fast that Raal mentally groaned, knowing he was so going to catch some heat for this, if he ever managed to catch up to her. He sure hoped no one tried to use an attack on her or things would get ugly.

He rushed past the guard, TRYING to hit lopunny with the beam from the Poké Ball, repeatedly calling out for his Pokémon to return. Just when he thought he had her, she'd turn a corner, or twirl around someone or something, making it impossible for him to catch. On the bright side she was so chipper about the whole thing it would be hard to call her a threat really.

He only wondered how long it would take for them to try catching HIM instead of lopunny, thinking she was paying enough attention to notice they'd gotten him. He already knew he was likely to get caught once these guys focused on him, but if Raal didn't catch lopunny she'd cause no END of trouble, and if she ended up getting in a fight..well his little trip would likely be over. Oh please give me a miracle and let someone manage to stop her PLEEEEASE give me a miracle here. I don't need to be getting shot at again....

If he'd known she was heading back towards the stadium just because it was the nearest large building, he'd have taken a straight line there and waited for her to get on the field before jumping form the stands. But he didn't know, so he just tried to focus on catching her, trying to hold back his sheer panic.

Of course, to lopunny she was just saying hi to people dressed in a way she didn't often see, especially not like this (since when did this many humans wear the exact same stuff, and not have instruments while parading down a street playing music and throwing candy?) and heading to a place that seemed familiar in this totally new place. After all, big cities all seemed to have a stadium of SOME sort, and that meant some sort of competitions and lots of other Pokémon that were as bouncy as she was not to mention the awesome stuff she'd get to see and and and....

Well, that was her line of thinking, it just never really ended.

OoC:yeah i know he'll be caught.but the disturbance is sure to get peoples attention, no?

Security Forces on the airfield were on top of their game. A hidden sniper perched atop one of the hangars caught sight of the commotion on the parking ramp, a rogue Lopunny dashing hither and thither through the crowds after assaulting one of the hangar guards, briefly entering the restricted F-22 receiving hangar before leaving again and darting for the runway.

That in and of itself presented a problem. It was less a security risk and more a safety issue; the Lopunny may have been fast, but it wasn't faster than a jet taking off or landing, and if it got caught in an engine it would not only get killed by the turbines, but cause a catastrophic engine failure and potentially cost the pilot's life, as well as bystanders if the aircraft veered into the crowd.

So the sniper called in this rogue Pokémon—and now what appeared to be its trainer chasing futilely after it—and alerted dispatch of both the Pokémon and its trainer. Two Security Forces groups were tasked to the event, a vehicle patrol for the Lopunny and a four-man squad for its trainer.

The two teams moved with different objectives; the four-man squad only shadowed Raal until he looked as though he was going to step onto the runway, but the vehicle patrol cut across the taxiways and the grass in between to cut off the Lopunny before it reached the runway. Contrary to expectations, the vehicle was just a typical police cruiser, albeit painted up in Seafoam Air Force livery.

A flash of light in the grass signified the passenger of the cruiser releasing a Pokémon to chase after the Lopunny, in this case a Herdier. Said dog Pokémon immediately shot off in pursuit of the rogue Pokémon, barking ferociously in an effort to get the Lopunny to stand down through fear. Depending on where the players in participation sat on the debate of "Pokémon speak," the Herdier was actively ordering the Lopunny to stand down and not cross the runway.

As for Raal, he would find himself flattened to the ground beneath 220+ pounds of Security Forces police officer and combat gear, while three others kept him covered with their assault rifles, and the fellow on top of him planted his knee directly in the small of his back to discourage movement and went to work wrestling the Poké ball out of his grip.

She did indeed arrive by ship. She arrived by personal ship, at that. Every step was elegant for her, and she had appearances to maintain, after all. Her personal ship, the Moonlight Shadow, docked at Seafoam harbor. She exited with her attendants, in a stunning black gown, and seemed not the least bit put off by the weather whatsoever. Her silvery hair was done up in a bun with the sides down to give it a flowing look. It would make her appear severe, yet approachable. For these sorts of events, some order had to be maintained, after all. If she looked like everyone else, what kind of wealthy socialite would she be?

She'd had dealings with the companies attached to this little nation in the past. There were few companies she had not dealt with in some fashion at one point or another. Her family was rather important, after all. Far from having a corporation or a company, she was old money. She had her hands in many pockets, just as many hands sought out hers. She had influence that went beyond silly things such as money alone. Her family name carried weight. Weight that allowed her into things that even corporate moguls weren't allowed in. Backroom dealings and trades that others would be turned away from.

Lilith was preoccupied with other things, however. For one, her eyes were scanning the crowd to see if her beloved Cynthia was here. It was a big event after all, and if there ever was a chance to see the woman who had stolen her heart, this would be the place. Oh, Cynthia may not know that Lilith loved her i a way that lent to having incredibly sweaty midnight dreams about her and inappropriate thoughts that would make most people blush. But what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her, hmm? She was also looking at this new fledgling nation with a critical eye. If it became a hindrance, she would have to destroy it.

That being the case, she wanted to know where each and every little weak link was, and that would take her some time to do. Things like that weren't just done automatically. While she could use her power, it was way too crowded. On top of that, she could sense several high class powers. One she felt little worry about. One however, concerned her. That man again. She never knew where he stood, and that bothered her. Someone with that kind of power class being an unknown in terms of allegiance..it was a dangerous thing.

Several people arrived, in varying fashions. Cynthia had ridden the main ship across, and was disembarking after speaking with a very young slight looking blonde young man holding a miniature Voltorb in his arms. The youth disembarked without fanfare and headed across to speak with some of the officials about the Pokémon he’d bred for the contest being held for Seafoam. He was escorted away to speak with someone in a higher position of authority.

For Cynthia, there was the usual crowd of onlookers that seemed to accompany the champion wherever she went. For the woman herself, she was holding a vanilla ice cream cone, munching it as she observed her surroundings. She’d been tucked away, training with her Pokémon for quite some time, but the news of the new terraforming intrigued her. Her interests usually lay with the past, so looking forward into the future in this fashion was different for her. She was also looking forward to seeing how strong the gyms in Seafoam were – she hadn’t had a real challenge in a while.

For Parvana, her entrance was different . With Van, she wasn’t riding a boat, she was flying. Without the assistance of Pokémon. Across military airspace. A shooting jet of violet light soaring across the sky, and she wasn’t exactly flying slowly either, her telekinesis projecting her exceptionally quickly across the sky. Her goal was the main Seafoam festival, but she wasn’t exactly taking the prescribed route.

This was a new and brilliant experience for Van, who, up until now, had been practically a wallflower. No, this was the result of her training with Faust, and it was apparent when the white and purple clad woman finally touched down, on the wrong side of the line, dropping to land with her coat fluttering behind her, adjusting her fingerless gloves on her hands. And she was inspecting the planes. Because they were interesting. Honestly.

She’d certainly gotten flashier with her training. But it was more than that. This Van exuded a confidence that she hadn’t had before it had begun. This one was wearing clothing that would allow her to use her touch on an individual, and she’d learned, to a degree, to control the amount of pain that she herself was in when it happened. Faust had turned her abilities into a weapon for her to wield, and she had, of course, followed him without his knowledge. In her new clothing. She was also curious. Seafoam had been different before, and so this made her wonder what, exactly, she felt that drew her here so strongly. Her gift of foresight wasn’t as keen as her immediate senses, but it was enough that she wanted to know the whys.

And Red, well, he just sauntered off the boat, looking natural in his jeans, vest and jacket, and his hat pulled down over his eyes. On his hat was his Joltik, and on his shoulder was Pikachu.

Cynthia and Red would be used to the reception they would receive, the typical fans and that. There was nothing unusual there. Lilith, however, passed unnoticed.

As for Van, well, there's where the fun came in. As soon as she left the airspace authorized for use by trainers on their Pokémon (which, by definition, is what Van's self-propelled flight would have fallen into), a pair of single-engine F-16Cs were vectored to intercept the wayward individual. But given the time it would take for the jets to get there, and the relative speed of Van's motion, she'd be over the airfield by the time they caught up.

Faust hung up the phone from where he'd contacted that woman. He hadn't meant to frighten her at all, but he knew he had to say something to make her pay attention. And ah, he could feel the wave of his trainee as she entered the airspace of the island. And she was making a fuss. How troublesome, but also how fun. Still, he had an idea. He closed his eyes briefly, and reached out across a connection. A connection he often kept silent out of respect for him, but this place was going to be a very important one. There had to be something that made it an auspicious occasion. Across space and land he felt the pathway, and spoke briefly to the one at the other end.

'Aibou. Do you think you can make an appearance to bless this nation? It's trying to clean up the mess of other humans, and I've got a good feeling about it. In fact, with their technology, you might be able to come and visit without too many adverse effects. My being here will also help. And to be honest, I don't think these guys would really be all that thrilled with an appearance by Myuu or anything. And I have no direct line to Victini. So I think you'd be best. Actually..if possible, could you bring your sister as well? The transition from darkest night to brightest moon..it would be a great symbolic thing for these humans.'

He could swear he heard a chuckle on the other end, and knew his partner would probably be shaking his head if he used human gestures. But, that being knew Faust was right. Humans had specific gestures and signs they believed in, and it might raise their spirits. Reluctantly, he agreed, if only because he knew that between Faust's presence and his sister's, no one would be harmed. With that assent, Faust moved on, humming a tune. Who said he never did anything for humans?

-------------------------------------------------------
Lilith of course, moved toward Cynthia, gently moving everyone aside. She gave the woman a soft hug, and kissed her on both cheeks. Because she was rich, and that's what they do. She squeezed her friend's hand, and looked her over. She was beautiful as the heavens as always, though forever in that odd outfit of hers. She really needed to put her in a dress..then get her out of it. But save those thoughts for later. She was in public, and she couldn't give innuendo out in public. It was bad for her image, and image was everything.

"Cynthia darling, I had a feeling you might be here. A new region solidifying and a new Gym set would bring out the best in you, of course. Though it still hasn't brought out the best in your fashion sense. Honestly, you should really dress nicely for these things! Anyway, before you ask, I happen to be here because I've considered funding some of this nation's technological advancement. It would be a painful amount of details and non-disclosures if I decided to do it, though. Dreadful things, military contracts. But I wanted some of the technology they will inevitably develop for my own developments in a field I'm studying very closely. I've come across some interesting finds, and read some reports from various field agents in research. I thought I'd try a bit of science!"

Lilith had always been like this around Cynthia. It always appeared the woman would switch gears rather quickly. For a few years, she was interested in weapons development, then totally forgot about it, and changed interests with the tides to go into housing development. She got bored of that, and then decided of all things to learn about Psychology and medicine. Now it was who knows what kind of technology and scientific study. It must be nice to be ridiculously wealthy and able to just do what you were interested in yearly. But that was Lilith. If only anyone knew the real truth. She'd kept her interests alright; and developed what she'd studied in secret.

"So darling, I suppose we should see the sights..oh, is that the Kanto champion? Goodness, so many celebrities here today! This is quite a turnout, isn't it?"
