He has alwas been with Karina ever since they met. His personality matches Karina's, he's quiet and calm. He is extremely loyal to Karina, but will test her at times.

Terra usually is a docile Pokémon, a surprising personality for quite a large Pokémon. Karina got him from Professor Rowan and they share a close bond, but not as strong as Solar and her. He is amazingly sure and strong in battle, but is very peaceful outside of it.

Salamence is a very lively Pokémon. She has amazing energy that can be used to power up her moves in battle. Her energy means that she has to be excercised often though, but by flying around, that burns up a lot of it.

Fraxure is the newest member of Karina's team. He is very agressive and sort of vain. He can be seen looking into a lake or puddle admiring his own tusks. In battle, he style of battle is to rush head on, but when Karina commands, he has to work into her strategy.

Karina is 5 feet and 6 inches, so she is quite average. She has long black hair that is cut into layers and flows silkily down her back. Her bangs are held back with two hair clips to keep them out of her eyes. She likes to wear headphones and listen to music when she's alone. She wears a tan jacket with a long white scarf that is loosely tied around her neck. She wears cargo pants usually and only during warm weather she might consider wearing shorts.

Her black hair is sometimes purple in the bright sunlight. Karina has dark eyes that seem to be almost black, but they are really a very dark navy blue. Her eyes are always calm and almost emotionless.

Karina is a very cool, calm and collected person. She doesn't easily get angry or even excited. She is more open to her Pokémon and is seen always smiling or laughing with them. She is generally suspicious of all new people she meets, but when they get to know her, she opens up more. She can be seen just watching blankly at things, but she is actually thinking a mile a minute. She usually speaks in a calm, intellectual voice and uses semi-formal language. She is a bit cold at times and can be described as mysterious. She can be sort of slow to understand things, but she is quick to be able to formulate a plan in Pokémon battles and contests. Karina also doesn't stand by the sidelines when there is injustice, so she usually gets herself involved with others' problems, findind a way to fix them in that cool way of hers.


Karina's outside character is different from what she truly is. To others, she is the above, but when people really get to know her, they see that she is a fun-loving person. She is sort of shy, though and this is why she doesn't socialize much. She enjoys herself the most when she is by herself or with her Pokémon and close friends.

Karina grew up in the small town of Twinleaf, and was always bored because of the lack of people her age there. As a young girl, she was always lively, but with a good sense of judgement. However, she lost that livliness as she matured, but small sparks of it still reappeared. Her parents were usually busy, but they loved her dearly, so they would try to find ways to spend time with their only daughter.


One day, she was so bored that she decided to go outside of Twinleaf where all the wild Pokémon were. She had gotten quite far from home and was heading to Lake Verity, where she heard legends of a sleeping Pokémon. Mesprit was its name. When she got to the lakefront, she noticed that two people were battling, and one trainer had an Absol. The Absol wasn't doing very well, and dropped from exhaustion. At that time, Solar, that same Absol, wasn't as strong as now. The trainer of Solar abandoned it, without even a look back. Karina was absolutely furious, but she couldn't do anything, she was only eight. Because of that scene, she doesn't trust others easily anymore. Also, in the past, she was betrayed by her most trusted friend, and that led to her final decision that day.


Solar was in very bad condition, and it didn't even want Karina to come near it. Karina made sure that the Absol was in a sheltered spot by building a semi-home for it, then left it. That day, she decided to tell her parents about what she saw. They were upset that Karina had gone off on her own like that, but when hearing the story of the Absol, they decided to support her. Karina's parents gave her supplies to help Absol, and Karina's dad gave her advice on how to gain Absol's trust.


Ready with her supplies, Karina visited Absol every day. She would leave food out for it, close enough for it to reach without moving much. Weeks went by without a single sign that Absol was relating to Karina until one sunny day in April. Karina came out again, and saw that the Absol had somehow gotten up on its feet and came to meet Karina. That was the day Karina developed her love of Pokémon. She took Absol home and treated him, and he got better. When Karina took Absol out to be set free, she felt a pang of sadness to see a friend go. But instead of leaving, Absol just stood there, staring at Karina. An understanding seemed to pass through them, and they were inseperable. On Karina's tenth birthday, she started her journey with Absol.

The weather was supposed to be sunny in Sinnoh, but it was snowing a blizzard. Karina grumpily muttered to herself as she trekked through the piles of snow. Solar was out with her, and she could tell he was happy to be out in the snow; he had thick fur. Karina was heading to Snowpoint City because of a call from the gym leader there. "What could she possibly want?" Karina wondered aloud. "Now I have to go through the stupid snow because Salamance's too cold to fly. " Solar looked over at Karina, its red eyes blinking with worry. Was his trainer, too cold?


Noticing Solar's worried glance, Karina smiled, "It's okay Solar, ignore me, enjoy the snow." She tightened her thick scarf around her nose and walked on, snowflakes falling endlessly.
