Wind chimes and pinwheels fluttered in the breeze passing through the metropolis known only as Celadon City. The gentle music from the decor chimed through the city as crowds milled back and forth amongst the shops and displays. Flyers advertising school and university run events were brightly colored and posted on walls all around the city. Various plays and booths were situated around the various squares and paths of Celadon.
The city, in a word, was a-buzz. The Weather Festival was in full swing.
A festival held to celebrate the changing of seasons and the blessing of good weather and spring to come, it is held to hope for good rains and showers. Given the current weather itself, canopies had been erected across the paths to shelter festival goes from the rain that was falling down. Free umbrellas and rain coats are situated at street corners, with city representatives hurrying to make sure that each station has a plethora of them available.
Various vendors are selling foods iconic of early spring. Fresh vegetables and crisp greens, as well as flavored gelato and sweets are abound. Rain scented aromas caress the area as the ladies of the Celadon Gym bring their own personal touch to the festival.
Bring forth the spring.
[This event is non-canon. That means you may post, no matter where your character is in the rest of PokéFiends. This event will end on April 30th, 2012. There is no posting order, as the event is timed. Participants of this event will get a Sunstone Castform added to their PC post for them to remember the event by. Those that post three times will also get a Blue Appatite and Chrysophase Castform, and those that post ten times will also get a Blue Lace Agate Castform. Thank you, and enjoy.]

As usual, Fel was in a rather good mood despite the less than chipper weather - while it'd already been raining for days on end, Fel's spirits couldn't be dampened by the constant downpour. Clad in his ever crimson dusted and black clothing, Fel sat on a bench that was mercifully dry, protected from the falling rain by an overhang from the Celadon Department store, a massive building towards the western end of the city. As Fel sat, remarkably dry in large part thanks to the rather wet umbrella that lay on the bench to his right, the boy continued to take small bites from the roll in that hand as he stared up at the sky through the transparent overhang. For the first time in a while the usual energy Fel was accustomed to had deserted him - while in a good mood and more than content with simply being warm and dry, he felt no particular urge to do anything. No need to keep moving, no need to see what few stands he hadn't already visited that morning long before the event had officially started - he was perfectly comfortable where he was, and Fel suspected Treecko and Larvitar felt the same way.
Unlike Fel, neither of the Pokémon were particularly pleased with the weather. Treecko, while he normally lived fr such conditions, was put off by the cold and the mugginess, and was leaning against Fel's left side on the bench, having already finished the snack Fel had bought for him alongside the trainer's own roll. He had no desire to go back out into the rain - while he'd been kept warm and dry underneath the unbrella and by having clung to Fel's back like some manner of parasite, he, like Fel, was perfectly content staying where they were, and was getting close to actually dozing off. Larvitar, however, was less than pleased with the overall situation - while Fel and Treecko relaxed on the bench, the little Pokémon simply stood on the ground as far away as possible from them as she could get without crossing over the very clear line that marked where the sanctuary from her watery hell began. Whether it was the weather or just that she didn't feel like throwing one of her usual tantrums was debatable, but rather than moving restlessly the Rock Pokémon simply sat near the edge of the dry zone, staring down at the boundary marking the difference between wet and dry concrete and glowering at it, very much tempted to simply retreat back to her own Poké Ball now that she'd finished eating the meal Fel had gotten them earleir.

Ferra walked on the edge of the sidwalk, just out of the cover of the tarp. Her long, rainbow colored hair in long, wet waves down to her waist. She was wearing a see through white, strapless sun dress that went to midthigh with a black bikini on under it. It was a little chilly, but the water felt good running down her skin. Ferra raises her hands and looked up at the large drops that landed on her face.
All of her Pokémon, except for one, were in her backpack at the hotel she was staying at. She didn't feel the need to bring them on this outing, but one couldn't hurt. Especially since grass types loved water. Ferra picked up the Poké Ball that hung from her necklace and clicked the button. Her leavanny appeared before her, doing a curtsy in hello.

The hooded, cloaked form of the wanderer moved steadily down the streets of Celadon City, paying little attention to the ongoing festivities. He had forgotten that the Weather Festival for the start of spring was right about this time, and he would've not been here if he had, but he'd been contacted shortly after the Goldenrod operation to become a Gym Leader at Seafoam, and to that end he needed more than just one Pokémon.
So here he was, in Celadon City, in one of its infamous early spring thundershowers, during the Weather Festival, trying to find his cousin, with whom he'd entrusted the care of his final Pokémon team when he'd set out a-wanderin'.
The rain didn't bother him; the travel cloak kept his body dry, and the hood kept the water off his head. Hidden by the folds of the cloak, the pistol he'd taken from the Rocket was holstered on his right leg. Giselle had said she'd fanangle him a permit for it, but he didn't need to be flashing it about regardless.
Beside him, Sohee drifted as she always did, her eyes closed, hovering a foot off the ground and thereby equal to his height. She held a parasol umbrella over her head to keep the rain off her, though in truth she could just repel the water from her body with a telekinetic barrier. That actually took effort.
Moving in the direction of the Celadon Gym, he glanced aside for a moment at a strange girl who was wearing white clothing in this rainstorm, with black underwear beneath, before continuing on his way. What a strange exhibitionist.

A Gym Leader present in one part of the festival was not native to Celadon, rather, she had decided to visit the festival to unwind after the trials that took place in Goldenrod a little while ago. Granted, she had not attended that fiasco, but she knew of every soul that had, and it didn't sit well for her to put people she knew and considered allies in the direct face of the great scale of danger Rocket seemed to be keen on dishing out.
Not that she would ever show that sentimental face to the public. No, the press expected a stoic psychic and Sabrina was content to oblige.
She had dressed more warmly today, donning the typical maroon clothing she was known for, rather than the newer styles she'd picked up for their comfort. An umbrella in one hand, a skewer of some sort of powdery, sweet and sickeningly pink morsel in another, Sabrina wandered the masses.
Then, by some chance, maybe she hadn't been paying enough attention to the buzz of thoughts and the dull hum of presences around her, she spotted someone she actually knew. Granted, he was hooded and cloaked, but his companion herself was hard to mistake. With a wry smile, Sabrina wove through the crowds carefully, working into a position behind the man, and placed a hand on his shoulder. If she was lucky, Sohee would sense her and let her do it without warning him. Ganale could use with a bit of a shock, after all, given that it probably wasn't every day that someone was able to sneak up behind him.
"Didn't expect to see you here, Chris."

There were occasions, at random points in his life where he was just sitting around not doing anything, where he had pondered what it felt like to be the fly caught by the spider. Now he figured he had a pretty good idea what that was like.
And Sohee hadn't even had the decency to give him a heads-up, making a point of facing off to the side with a not-even-attempted-to-conceal smirk on her face as she made a show of being interested in one of the roadside displays.
But he didn't actually jump when she touched him. Of course, that's not to say he didn't physically react either. She could have very easily felt his entire body tense from the unexpected contact, the muscles of his shoulders tightening in order to move his right hand to draw the pistol, but a quick telekinetic grip from Sohee stymied that before it could happen, letting his conscious mind catch up to his instincts and puzzle out that he hadn't been grabbed by a threat.
Well, for a given definition of 'threat,' anyway.
He turned partially back to face her, the motion allowing half of his face to come into view past the shadows thrown by the hood of the cloak. "Probably wouldn't have if I'd known the festival was going on. But I needed to pick up the Pokémon I left with Erika before I head down south to Seafoam, so there you have it. Now, I figured you would be up to your elbows in that database we brought back."

"Ahh. That's right. I had forgotten you fielded more than a Marowak when we battled all that time ago."
Sabrina brushed her hand over the muscles in Chris's shoulder a moment, feeling the taught sinew with the tips of her fingers, before releasing her hold. Grasping the skewer she had crowded into her umbrella-hand. She tilted her umbrella to the sit, vaguely pointing to the business districts of Celadon.
"As for the database, I ran into a block on it. I'm letting a contact here take a look at the security on the coding before I force it myself. The last thing I want to do is trigger a wipe and waste a hard earned prize. I suppose I could just go through the crack Giselle send me, but I don't trust InterPol to not withhold information, so I'm going through the security on it myself before going over what all she sent me."
The gym leader eyed the festivities, turning her gaze down one of the streets. Children and Pokémon were playing in the puddles formed there. She smiled faintly. What a world they were trying to protect. She turned back to Ganale.
Then she smirked. "What's wrong with the festival? You don't enjoy a healthy dose of rain?"

"Guess they still don't trust in what's coming, huh," he remarked, concerning the comment about InterPol withholding information. "Can't say I really blame them, though. They're a government organization. They have to go on what they can measure and record."
He didn't bother to comment on her deciding to do it herself, then using a specialist when she ran into trouble on her own. It would have been redundant to do so. Instead, he followed her gaze down to observe the children and their Pokémon enjoying the festival. For a few moments, the world went quiet and still around them, even the rain seeming to slow to a trickle, as he contemplated the price of failure.
Then, to her question, he merely shrugged as the world returned to normal. "It's the crowds. I don't like being around a lot of people."

"I believe Giselle might believe what's coming. But it's as you said. The government has to trust their cold data."
And hey. So she wasn't a master computer hacker. She couldn't be that multitalented. Besides. The specialist here in Celadon was well trusted... and had no such ability to mask his intentions from Sabrina. The man had absolutely no talent at shielding his thoughts. That being said, she trusted him to do his best and return the database to her unmarred. What fourth wall, sir.
Sabrina popped the last little morsel into her mouth and then flicked the skewer away, sending it soaring into a track can nearby. She didn't even miss, because, well, someone who could telekinetically manipulate objects just bloody shouldn't mess up stuff like that.
"Hmm... Well, if you didn't have an agenda already, I'd invite you to this quiet cafe I know. I'm a little hesitant to do so, though, given how swimmingly that went last time I invited you somewhere." Her smirk turned a bit slier.

"Grandmother on fire, indeed..." Sohee mused, her 'attention' still turned away, or at the very least pretending to be so. Even though she wasn't.
Pointedly ignoring that jab from the peanut gallery, he turned his head to look down the street again, idly thankful for the size of the travel cloak's hood that could conceal his face in shadow to keep the slight redness from being seen.
"Look, that caught me off-guard. I know a whole lot about breaking things, doing painful things to bad people, and making a general nuisance of myself. I know practically nothing about that, and besides, you of all people was the last person I was expecting it from."

-ooc: I looked at the words 'peanut gallery' and remembered that one of my friends said that in her sleep. No idea what that dream was about, but.../ooc-
Quite the occasion, 'twould seem.
Darach quite enjoyed such events where he could buy fresh ingredients. One of his many talents was cooking, though given his occupation that would be no surprise. The aromas of all sorts of foods and spices wafted through the air-- or rather, would waft, if it wasn't for the scent and deluge of rain.
The Castle Valet didn't like rain, or, at any rate, this amount. It ruined his slick-back, got his suit wet.... Downpours were not the thing for such decorum as his.... especially when there were so many girls crossing wet areas. Needless to say, his tux jacket would not only be wet, but a bit muddy as well. No need to put that back on.
The butler had decided to take an excursion away from the castle for a bit. He had no doubt that his presence wouldn't be needed; another servant could take over managing points. Furthermore, his disappointment in that the wealth of Trainers that couldn't make it past ten battles gave him no qualms in leaving for a small while.
He was pleased just to be here.

(I have to wonder what the dream was about... xD)
Sabrina's smile wavered a bit when Ganale turned away. She eyed the man across from her as he wholly admitted to knowing nothing about instigating relationships and almost everything about the complete destruction of other people. The psychic had known the man for some time now, and while they hadn't exactly conversed as normal people might have and much of their relationship had been due to their respective goals in the grand scheme of things, Sabrina knew some sort of buzz of a feeling was there for the man.
To that effect, she stepped forward, bringing her umbrella over the two of them to shield the rain off of them both. Then, the woman reached forward and placed a hand on the man's shoulder lightly, applying force as necessary in hopes that he would turn to meet her eyes. She tilted her head at him, red eyes looking to search through his, her smile still half across her lips.
"Then, allow me to try this again. Do you want a cup of coffee?"

He had to bite back the automatic response of "I don't like coffee" because he was so ingrained to that question having that meaning, rather than the alternative meaning demonstrated by a certain English stand-up comedian. The pause was noticeable, and in that frame of time, Sohee silently and nonchalantly drifted off to browse the festival on her own. The spirit woman was a bona fide troll known for her masterful dick moves, but she was not out to actively sabotage her master and therefore knew that it was best to bugger off.
Noting but not reacting to his companion's disappearance, he turned and faced Sabrina at her touch, his own eyes flicking back and forth but generally staying in the face area. He'd always had trouble looking into the eyes of someone he wasn't half a second from ending the life of, and in circumstances like these it was even more difficult.
And he definitely didn't have any kind of witty riposte to throw in, instead just giving a half-smirk and responding, "Yeah, I could do a coffee."

Sabrina's eyes flashed a bit at the response, some sort of glow of pleasure glinting within their red depths. As dark as Ganale's eyes were, especially in the low light of the cloudy and rainy weather, she could see her reflection in them. Her own smirk fell away into a genuine smile, a rare something from the usually down-to-business and stoic or often deadpan snarky psychic. Sabrina tapped her finger gently on the man's shoulder, a faint content hum coming from her throat.
Then, she chuckled. "Good answer."
Sabrina then turned, still holding her umbrella over the two of them. She looked back over her shoulder at Gasnale and she held her hand out to him, more as a gesture to follow than a demand to hold hands, though Ganale was by all means welcome to take it either way. A tilt of her head down one of the streets. The one they had previously both been watching down.
"This way." A smirk. "And they have more than coffee, by the way."

Sabrina was already attractive in the first place, but when she put down the smirk and traded it in for an actual smile, the effect made her all the more beautiful. Almost frightfully so. In that sort of 'How the hell could a girl like that want to have anything to do with me?' kind of way.
He just kind of stood there for a moment, pondering over that, wondering when the other karmic shoe was going to drop, as she took a step ahead, then turned back and held out her hand toward him. His heart literally stumbled over a beat when she did that; he'd seen enough manga and video games to know about that gesture.
In that moment, as far as he was concerned, the rain stopped falling, the storm clouds parted and allowed the sun to shine down onto the city streets, and even the other festival goers vanished, leaving no one else in the otherwise-bustling city but them. He couldn't be sure that it wasn't Sabrina messing with his perceptions, or even Sohee—the romantic that she was.
It was as much a sign as anything, though, so he reached out his left hand and loosely grasped hers, then as he moved to match her pace, he shifted his hand so that his fingers entwined with hers. Her hand was warm, and he noticed with a slight smirk that their hands fit together very comfortably, almost perfectly.
