Name: Dyne Alexander Tyreal
Nickname: Red
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Trainer Orientation: Good, Team Rocket.
Birthplace: Viridian City
Family: Dyne’s parents Byron and Morgana both held the title of Rocket Executive. After word of his meddling in the capture of a top priority Pokémon had spread they apparently faced consequences in place of him but what the consequences were is unknown as he was shipped away almost immediately. They are still members of Team Rocket but their current status is unknown.

Starter Pokémon: Venonat

Pokémon On Hand:
Charmander – Dyne was given Charmander by Professor Oak but the fire lizard turned out to have quite the attitude problem as it prefers to do things his own way and has yet to actually listen to its trainer causing the two to bump heads, sometimes literally, quite often. He, similar to Dyne, is skilled in battle but that is most likely due to Charmander being some what of a battle maniac. He loves the thrill of battle and is always eager start a fight to prove its fighting capabilities making him a bit naďve and easily tricked.

Venomoth – This was Dyne’s first Pokémon that he was told to capture to start off his days at the Rocket Facility that eventually evolved from Venonat during Dyne’s final battle exam. It is incredibly loyal to its trainer and the two share a close bond, but it is due to this that Venomoth feels rather possessive of its trainer and easily gets jealous if Dyne pays to much attention to his other Pokémon. Having a rather passive personality doesn’t enjoy battling, preferring rather to just sit on the sidelines at its trainers side but it wouldn’t hesitate to fight if its trainer was in danger.

Poochyena – Dyne “stole” Poochyena from a traveling trainer as one of his tests in the Rocket Facility. This was a ruse of sort created by Dyne and backed up by mischevious Marlene who was told to keep an eye on him due to his past crime against Team Rocket. In fact Poochyena was a Pokémon physically abused by its trainer and liberated through force by Dyne. Given the choice to be released, Poochyena decided to stay with its new trainer. Incredibly playful, this Poochyena doesn’t always take battles seriously, usually finding that a good chasing of its own tail to be far more entertaining but unlike Charmander, Poochyena does in fact obey its trainer if a serious command is given to it. Loyal to its trainer yet not clingy like a certain moth Pokémon, it gets along rather well with Venomoth due to rarely getting in between Venomoth and Dyne.

Appearance: Physically speaking Dyne is about as average as they come. Not too tall and not too short, he stands at 5’6”. Weighing 137 pounds, he has a well built body from his days in the Rocket Facility. His skin is lightly tanned and he has no large or noticeable scars to tell stories of. Adorning his head is a full head of brown hair, brushed back but it always falls to the side afterwards he doesn’t actually spend any time maintaining it as he finds it a waste of time but it looks otherwise neat and doesn’t require any form manipulating hair products.

His choice of clothing is where he is a bit more picky but still simple none the less. Black, short sleeved cotton t shirt is worn under a light brown leather jacket and simple, dark blue jeans. Finally wearing on his feet are brown hiking boots that go a couple inches above the ankle. He does change his choice of clothes often though and this is simply his current attire.

For his choice of extra accessories he has fake diamond studded earrings and a worn black chain necklace whos color has faded and rubbed off so much that is has begun to take a rusty red type of color adorning his upper body. On his left wrist he has a simple leather band digital watch, and on the middle finger of his right hand a steel ring with carved figures of Squirtle going all the way around of which was a gift for his birthday from Marlene when he turned 15.

Picture (Optional): N/A at the moment at least.

Personality: Dyne usually puts on the dark brooding type attitude due to his resentment of his parents and their association with Team Rocket. He never really had a trusted friend during his days as a trainee of Team Rocket and he wouldn’t allow himself to count on any one else to be there for him because most of them he knew would betray him without hesitation if it benefited them in one way or another. He is however curious about whether or not he can make friends with no affiliation to Team Rocket now that he was granted a bit more freedom to move. This however is in conflict with his desire to not put any one else in danger due to his own affiliation with Team Rocket, concluding that he would cause people trouble in the long run.

He is confident in his skill as a Pokémon battler as he graduated from a trainee with the highest marks of his class and due to his “I’m not counting on anybody” issue; he has also been marked as resourceful and ingenious on his end. This has actually made him a bit overconfident and there for he doesn’t always realize when in fact he may be in over his head.

He tries to get along with people outside of Team Rocket but never having interacted with a person he considered trust worthy to maintain any form of relationship with, he has a difficult time doing so. Pokémon are the only creatures on the planet that he can form a strong bond with but only those that he himself has caught and raised.

He has a phobia of electricity due to an incident he had with a Magneton when he was young. Because of this he has trouble making the correct decision when battling a Pokémon of this type and he feels a bit uncomfortable handling said Pokémon type even when it is obeying his commands.

Personal History: The world that Dyne was born into went completely against his nature. From an early age his parents tried to educate him on what they believed. Pokémon were tools, they were to be used in any way to benefit human gain and how you obtained them didn’t matter meaning theft and even darker methods of making them your own were perfectly fine. This of course never stuck with him; he couldn’t help but pity any Pokémon he saw his parents handle and felt it was wrong.

It was due to this mindset of his that when he encountered his first wild Pokémon at the young age of 7, a pink, kitten like creature, he avoided even the mention of it to his parents. After that he found himself meeting with the Pokémon regularly for a week in the vast Viridian Forest. It was there the two played for hours on end, and for the first time Dyne felt he actually enjoyed the company of another living being. It was short lived though before disaster struck.

His parents, Byron and Morgana had apparently been searching for this Pokémon for some time and reports told that it was very likely that it was currently residing in the Viridian Forest. It was during their first run through of the forest that they found what they were looking along with their son waving goodbye to the valuable creature just before it teleported away. His parents had already concocted a plan to capture the rarity and their son was the key to the plan.

The two, currently proud parents, were unaware of their sons unusual nature. That he actually had a soft spot for what they considered mere slaves. So when they told their son of their plan, about how they wanted him to draw mew out so they could set up a trap and his reaction was a frightened no. They were dumbfounded by their son’s refusal, their confusion turned to anger as Dyne was screamed and yelled at.

Being locked away in his room, he knew that this wasn’t the end of it. His parents wouldn’t give up and escaping from the window of his room in the dead of night he ran into the forest in hopes his friend would find him like it had the entire week before. When he did find the playful Pokémon though who was thrilled at the idea of fun and games, his parents had already caught up with him. Having expected this very situation after his refusal they made the first strike. He had led his parents straight to what he wanted to protect.

The result in the end was him going fully against his parents. He carried Mew away when it was poisoned and weakened. He had stolen his father’s item bag in the midst of the confusion and had given an Antidote to rid the vile substance from its body. His destination in mind was Pewter City, he planned to find shelter there for the time being but he never made it. He couldn’t escape his parents and he couldn’t convince them to stop. The only thing he could do was give his friend the time to escape on its own and he did exactly that. Having put himself in harm’s way he ensured the pokemons freedom but he had ruined his image in his parent’s eyes forever, not that he cared any more. He hated them for not even trying to understand him and to actually try and take away his only friend with no consideration of what he wanted.

Shipped off immediately to Saffron City, he was forced into a Rocket Facility for training and discipline of all new recruits. His entire time there was hell due to everyone knowing what he had done. The only reason he managed to survive mentally there was thanks to his Venonat. The first Pokémon he ever caught himself and eventually he made new companions in Poochyena and maybe even the mischievous prankster Marlene after having felt betrayed by his parents, and only knowing the disgusting nature of those from Team Rocket he could never bring himself to really trust her, a human and a member of Team Rocket as well.

Nearing the end of his time at the Facility he had created a fake persona during his time there. He pretended he had changed his personality to their liking and due to his overall high marks, and exemplary skills in battling it seemed as if he may have redeemed himself somewhat in the eyes or Team Rocket. He was considered a promising member but still considered a bit of a wild card.

It was due to this that when he had finished his training and returned home again, he was put under the supervision of, under the disguise of partner, the other exemplary trainee, Marlene who was the closest person to him at the time. He had his suspicions of this though so he really didn’t care; he was currently at the organizations mercy.

His first assignment being given to him immediately, Dyne left for Pallet Town where he was under cover as a starting Pokémon trainer. It was there he obtained his “first” Pokémon from Professor Oak and with everything prepared he was ready to undertake his first mission.

RP Sample: His tired feet were carrying him as swiftly as they could, his breathing was heavy as he focused on the dense forest in front of him or at least the faint outlines that he barely made out in front of him. It was so dark he could barely make out the hand in front of his face but he knew this path, he knew Viridian Forest better than most.

He was running away from his home in Viridian City and this maze like forest was the closest place he could think of to find a suitable place to lose his pursuers and hopefully escape. The small pink cat like Pokémon in his arms weighed him down but he couldn’t simply abandon it, not his only friend however brief there time together.

Behind him he could hear the vicious barks of his Mother’s Houndoom closing in on him or rather the Pokémon he was carrying with him. He was desperately trying to find a safe place for it more than himself. This must have been a rare Pokémon for his parents to be involved; they were executives and would never put so much stress on capturing any ordinary Pokémon.

How could they be so despicable, so heartless and cold? Worst of all these were his parents that were desperately hunting him only so they could have this Pokémon. Why did he have to be born into such a family that put so much importance on ruining lives just so they could live comfortably? In the end they weren’t helping better the world. All they did was push the agenda of some cruel person who abused any power they had.

He had become so caught up in his thoughts of the disgust he felt towards his parents he hadn’t noticed the Houndoom’s bark fade. Panting furiously he hid behind a tree and leaned against it, trying to catch his breath. He couldn’t stay for long though, he had to get through to Pewter City. The Pokémon he cradled in his arms was badly poisoned from his Mother’s Seviper. Looking around carefully he soon found his eyes getting heavy and it wasn’t until then he noticed the small speckles of the Sleep Powder reflecting in the small amount of moonlight that managed to find the few open spaces though the trees. There was no doubt that it was his Fathers Vileplume.

Fighting off the urge he quickly reacted by springing away from the tree to escape the dangerous powder. He made it just in time too as it wouldn’t have taken more than a few seconds until he couldn’t resist any longer. He wouldn’t forgive himself if he succumbed to a mere Sleep Powder after coming all this way.

Running again only lasted a short while though as he felt a cold claw wrap around his ankle causing him to crash into the ground. In desperation and instinct he twisted his own body to the side as fast as he could to save the pink Pokémon in his arms from any more harm.

Looking back at where he fell down his Father’s Haunter arose from the ground, it had been the culprit. Before he could get up though, unfortunately, he could hear the deep growling of the Houndoom from before and it was close enough for its hot, moist breath to tickle his ear.

Crawling backwards as if he could actually get away until he came up against a tree he felt a sense of hopelessness that very few could probably relate with. He held the Pokémon tightly in his arms, not wanting to give it up almost like he was its lifeline and if the two were separated… He didn’t even want to think about the result.

He felt even worse at the sound of the all too familiar voice of his father sounding out in the otherwise quiet forest. “No more games Dyne, hand it over. Your mother and I will forget all about this if you just give it up. Do you even realize its worth?”

Stepping out of the shadows the figures of the ones who raised him stood haughty and with misplaced pride, though they weren’t clearly seen until his mother’s Magneton used Flash to brighten the area as if it were day.

“Why…” Dyne chocked out “Why can’t you let this one Pokémon go…” Screaming out in rebellion he shouted “It doesn’t want to go with you, can’t you see that!?”

His parent’s faces were not grinning nor were they frowning, cold was the only word that came close to describing them. “Mew?” The Pokémon in his arms said weakly, finally awake. The antidote he gave it earlier must have finally taken effect. It was the first time he had used it and he wasn’t sure if it would work but thankfully it did.

“You brat! Do you realize how difficult it was to poison that!?” His mother shouted in anger as the Houndoom charged up what Dyne could only guess to be a Fireblast, Magneton as well had strong currents of electricity circling around it, it was pure instinct as the two Pokémon knew a battle was about to begin again. He didn’t even want to think about the fate that would come if he refused.

Looking down at the Pokémon with a face now full of tears he had thought of the past week playing with the Pokémon in secret. It was probably the most fun he had had in his life. He didn’t have to pretend he was a machine being programmed by his parents to think of Pokémon as simple tools. He could be himself with this adorable little pink fur ball and he wouldn’t be judged or reprimanded for it either.

This only made the young boy angry, the fact that his happy days had to be trampled on by those bullies who he had to obey since it was them who had given him birth. And knowing he was expected to grow into the same vile and heartless kind of person made him sick to his stomach. He couldn’t let that happen, if only for this one time he had to protect what he held dear, even if that meant going against his frightening parents.

Whispering quietly to the Pokémon, he urged it to flee “I want you to go; I want you to escape right here and now. You are too weak to take me with you but its fine. I will find you again someday, but until then…” Glaring angrily at his parents he screamed “Just go!!!” His parents faces shocked in disbelief and anger at the total refusal.

Laying the Pokémon down he charged the Houndoom, due to it being his parents Pokémon it hesitated to long before he tackled into it full force causing it to unintentionally release the Fireblast in several trees, almost instantly lighting them ablaze.

Glancing back at the pink kitten like Pokémon he gave another urging look but it was from that, that he saw from the corner of his eye the Magneton charging itself up ready to attempt to electrocute the poor Pokémon into submission. Even if he did pin down Houndoom it didn’t matter if there was still another trying to harm his friend. He wasn’t finished.

Jumping off the hellhound he had pinned down he placed himself between the powerful electric bolt of lightning and the psychic Pokémon just in time as his father shouted out the command “Thunder Bolt!”

A crackling thunder was the only noise he heard and a blinding light the only sight he saw before screaming in agony, his body falling to the ground and writhing in pain. He had never experienced such a raw, overpower sensation of pain like this, his mind almost went blank but the pain didn’t allow him the luxury of passing out.

His parents were growling and screaming angrily at one another afterwards, exchanging insults about how the other could have let it get away or their son being the fault other. That meant his friend got away. It probably had recovered enough energy to use Teleport and was now long gone.

The thought made him happy for a bit before fear took over as his father lifted the injured child by his shirts collar. His father glared daggers at him but Dyne could also see disappointment in those hate filled eyes “This isn’t over, son…”

Sirens in the background were sounding out, probably Officer Jenny and a team of fire fighting water Pokémon was coming to investigate and stop the growing forest fire. Being dragged away by the collar of his shirt, his entire body was paralyzed, and he could only wish that it would still be this numb when his punishment was given.

“Argh!” He awoke, almost as if he was being electrocuted right then and there. Cold sweat ran down his face as he gasped for air, the hard surface of the facilities bed underneath him. “A dream… It was just a dream…” He sighed in relief.

Placing his hand up to his head to keep the room from spinning he said to himself in the empty room. “Jeez, I haven’t dreamed of that day for a long time. It feels like it was so ago when it happened…” Personally though he didn’t think of it as much of a dream, too many qualities of a nightmare were present for such a sweet sounding word.

And indeed it had been some time ago. Eight years had passed since he had encountered the mirage Pokémon and had aided its escape though in retrospect it was probably his fault for it being in such danger in the first place. He couldn’t actually be sure if meeting that pink furred Pokémon was a blessing in disguise for having given him a pleasant and fun memory to think of and a goal to reach some day or if it was a meeting that never should have happened since it was also the reason for his current situation and the pain he had suffered since that day.

He was going home today, though he dreaded the moment while most of the other trainees in this hell hole would have been overjoyed. He didn’t want to see his parents again but he really had no choice, he had grown to accept that his fate would be near impossible to escape. He was part of Team Rocket and they weren’t going to let him go.

The morning later he cleaned himself up in the shower, threw on some casual clothing, which itself was a relief to wear rather than the team Team Rocket uniform he was forced to wear at the Facility, and awkwardly walked out of his room. He hadn’t been back in this house for nearly a decade now, half of his life up to that point had been lived someplace else and now his home felt foreign to him.

After that night, he was sent away for discipline almost immediately and it had been hell due to everyone knowing he actually helped a rare Pokémon get away. Why wouldn’t they? After all stealing and enslaving them was the dark organizations sole purpose. Even if it was wrong, it was the only world he knew and he was the black sheep in herd.

Walking into the kitchen he knew food would be there but his parents wouldn’t be, they were off somewhere ‘working’ probably, but that was the best part about this morning. He wasn’t in any mood to see them anyway. Still there was one thing he was not expecting and left him completely shocked to see. He hadn’t expected the sight of a familiar girl a year older than him eating his breakfast.

Sighing he acted as if it weren’t good to see her, even if it partly was due to her being one of the few human beings in the world who had any kind of relationship with him “What are you doing here Marlene? And like, why are you already raiding my fridge?”

The girl looked up and gave him a wide grin “Geez louis. Didn’t they teach you any manners? Or did graduating from the Saffron City’s Rocket Academy as one of the top trainees make you snobby? I can’t blame you though, from what I heard you graduated with highest marks in battling too. Trying to follow in daddy’s shoes?”

Shaking his head he spat back “You graduated as top in everything but battling and you think I am the stuck up one? The real genius here is you and if anyone is full of themselves there is little doubt it would be you, which you are so the point is mute.” Wait, why was he getting so into the discussion? Jeez, she knew exactly how to get him riled up. In an attempt to change the topic he continued “Anyway, what brings you to my humble abode?” He asked sarcastically

“What? You mean besides visiting you sweet heart?” The corner of her lips curving upwards in a taunting smirk made it painfully obvious she was doing said it on purpose for a reaction. It was also obvious she was enjoying the idea of playing around with him. It was too bad it was Marlene as if it were any other person he would have known he was being toyed with.

He shot back immediately and somewhat immaturely “Sweet heart!? The hells are you talking about!? Don’t joke about that, we are partners!”

He had put much emphasis on the word partners but of course possibly to much as she responded flirtatiously with the same glimmer of entertainment in her eyes as before and said “Partners you say? So we have already reached that level in our relationship? Oh my…” She blushed as naturally as if she weren’t faking it. Twisting his words and teasing him, she knew exactly how to push his buttons.

“Hey cut it out! Don’t twist my words around like that, it’s creepy alright! It’s time for you to grow up, we aren’t and never will be, well, whatever it is you’re trying to imply. So why are you here already!?”

Pouting though he couldn’t tell if she was pretending or not she handed him a document and mumbled a bit annoyed. “Jeez, you didn’t have to say it that seriously; you could really hurt a girl’s feelings like that…”

Perking up again she continued “Anyway, HQ just sent in our first assignment. We are to head to HQ immediately for briefing. Exciting huh? I heard we are the first trainees in a long time to be given an assignment so soon after graduating.”

With very little interest in what she said he replied back in a monotone voice “Oh? I thought all the trainees would be put to work right away. That seems a bit unfair to know that everybody else gets vacation time while we are stuck with work.” His lack of enthusiasm to match her own probably wasn’t the best way to respond when she was excited like this but he didn’t really care.

She in turn sighed at what he said almost as if she were disappointed rather than angry. She knew he was sharp, most of the time, so he should have known that this was an honor, it meant they weren’t just another, unknown and barely important grunt. They had expectations unlike most and that was important for her. She could only hope it was from just waking up “Hey, this is important stuff, don’t just toss it aside as boring. We also need to lay low at the moment so keep stealing Pokémon to a minimum.” She paused before teasing him again “Oh, wait, I forgot you don’t steal Pokémon, your playing mister noble. You should really kick that habit; it doesn’t serve well in our line of business.”

He kept quiet about the matter. He really had to take the job as it would ruin the reputation and trust he had been working to recover for the past eight years. Refusal wasn’t an option this time around and it was his first mission too that not only didn’t require stealing Pokémon but suggested against it. Of course this was probably just part of a bigger plan for Team Rockets diabolical goals but he could think about it on the road. “When do we head out?” He asked with little interest.

She grinned wide in joy that he was so easy to convince into taking the job. She had thought he would be refusing from the start since she was one of the only people who knew his true nature. “Tomorrow, so get ready and make sure to leave Venomoth and Poochyena here. We are going to make a stop at Professor Oak’s laboratory in Pallet Town.”

He shot back “What!? Why!?” A vein became evident as she became irritated. Shouting back at him “What are you an idiot? Haven’t you heard that the old geezer is giving away Pokémon for free to starting trainers!? All we have to do is pretend to be some innocent, naďve brats and he will give me a cute, fluffy tailed Squirtle! Er, I mean us some extra Pokémon. It isn’t stealing, technically so it will be fine.”

Dyne should have known that was what she was up to. She loved cute Pokémon and didn’t like going through the trouble of catching them. Marlene took a breath and returned to her calm mostly joyful personality leaving a rather frightened Dyne as he rarely see her explode and she was, well, kind of scary when she was angry.

Returning to the primary mission at hand, Marlene continued “Oh and this is an important mission for Team Rocket from what I was told so don’t screw it up. The success or failure of this will affect our futures here on in. I was told that your codename is Red, and mine is Blue, any questions?”

His face was in near disbelief as he responded back in disgust “Red and Blue? What kind of crappy naming sense is that? Can’t they come up with anything more original or cool like Gurren and Lagann? Who the hell do they think we are!?”

Laughing, Marlene answered in good humor at his response “I know right? Next thing you know all of us new recruits are going to get colors as names like Gold, Silver or even something as ridiculous as Ruby or Platinum.”

The two laughed at together as they exchanged jokes and such about their given code names but it didn’t distract him from his true desire. Words couldn’t describe how he wanted out of the organization but there was no way he could. They would track him down and that would just make his life even more difficult. He was already probably going to be watched carefully, so it was no wonder they choose someone like Marlene who not only knew him better than anyone else be his partner in this mission. It probably didn’t hurt that she was becoming rather famous and respected in the organization for a new member.

Unlike Dyne who had powerful and high up parents, Marlene was an orphan taken in by Team Rocket and had little to no expectations for her until she proved how talented and useful she was to them. He doubted he could trust her due to her allegiance to the organization though it was nothing new. He didn’t trust anybody except his Pokémon.

About to fix himself something else to eat for himself Marlene piped up “Hey, fix me something else to eat please, your eggs were cold” A vein was now popping up in his neck from irritation of her already stealing his meal, and now requesting him to prepare another for her.

Even if he wanted to explode he did as she requested quietly and obediently. Marlene surprised to not here a comeback, cocked her head to the side “Dyne?” but she received no response and simply remained quiet, a hint of worry was shown by her demeanor.

Absentmindedly he quietly asked himself “Tomorrow huh? Jeez…” This was not how he wanted to live his life, he wanted to uphold his promise to find the Mirage Pokémon again but with Team Rocket keeping a close eye on him he would just be putting his friend in danger. For now, things had to be this way, and he despised it…
