PokéFiends

Welcome

PokéFiends is an open and expansive multi-region Pokémon roleplay that welcomes both canon and original characters. From the regions in the main games, the anime and side games, and even a bit more, you can travel anywhere.

Be wary, a darkness lurks in the night, a sinister creature haunts the edges of the moonlight. Turmoil brews, traveler, so take your first step with caution.

News

Four months ago, terror held the world in stand still. The attacks on both Saffron and Castelia have concluded... and despite the growing darkness, the people of the world band together to throw an event in the spirit of world unity and the courage to stand against this new foe.

Climate

The season is currently Spring. There winter snows have thawed and new growth springs up across the world. Periodically, chill remains in the air, but never for long does it hang about.

Welcome to PokéFiends. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Believe in you, who believes in yourself.

Due to everyone stepping out of the tournament, and Panic being the only one willing to accept the position, Noiretta is the Head Leader of Orre. *throws confetti* With that, the Orre Leage is set up entirely! That means the Almia League will start accepting applications in the near future!

Shadow Pokémon
In light of talking to Sumdood about Cipher, we've come to conclusion that Shadow Pokémon should be snaggable regardless of the Trainer's choice. This is because Shadow Pokémon show little character to begin with, and half of them will be given out by Cipher themselves.

To make this fair, there's a 1 in 10 chance that a snag will be successful, with a max of 3 attempts per battle with any given opponent.

I understand this can be somewhat frustrating for some people, as they might have had a particular Shadow Pokémon for their OC to main. And that is perfectly fine. It's going to be complicated to keep track of (and Sumy, I will help you while you're gone) but the Shadow Pokémon and OC starts out with (For example: Rastogi's Dusclops.) would be unsnaggable.

But only this one Shadow Pokémon. Any Shadow Pokémon recieved or created by the Trainer there after, are fair-game. At the moment we only have two Grunts that registered before this mandate, so if there's anything they want to alter, let me know, here, so I can plan ahead for this. <3

The following was updated in the Guidelines:

Snagging
Snag Machines only work on Shadow Pokémon, end of story. They can only be received by going to the HQ Lab in Orre and obtaining one from the Professor there. And then, finally, Snagging, unlike standard theft, works on a generator basis. There is a 1 out of 10 chance that a snag will end in success, with a limit of three tries at snagging a paticular Pokémon per battle. (For example: Micheal trying to snag Ardos's Lugia could only be attempted three times until their next battle.) The last thing of note is that XDs can, also, be snagged, but the chance is 1 out of 20. The form for snagging can be found in the Wild Pokémon Encounter & Snagging Forms thread.

Snag-locked
There is only one exception to the snagging rule. The Shadow Pokémon a person "started" with, the one that might have been written in during the character's application process, is banned from snagging. These are listed accordingly in the Active Shadow Pokémon thread. Canons of high rank, that may be registering with multiple Shadow Pokémon, can choose one to be their snag-locked member. This should be noted on applications when you apply. (If your character does not apply with a Shadow Pokémon, they do not get a snag-locked Pokémon.)

The folowing has been added to the Guidelines:

Areas Currently Undefined
If an area or location is currently lacking in the canons that dwell in it, then it can not be affected on a large or damaging scale. "You can not destroy that which does not yet exist." There is a need for atleast one of the canons in that place to have been claimed before it can be affected.

Traveling in the Orange and Sevii Islands
Travel in the Orange and Sevii Archipelagos is free range. You can surf from one island to the next with out having to role play accordingly, unlike the requirement to play some of a Route travel out mainland. Boat passes are free within, and all islands have ports (except for Butwal and Cleopatra in Orange), but only Madarin Island South and Hammlin Island (in Orange) and Knot Island (in Sevii) have Worldwide ports. You must purchase a ticket to leave the region..

Bout Route prices have also been updated, Inter-Region travel is free (kind of like how ferrys can be) as it should be. Only Worldwide travel with cost you money now. Boat passes are free within the Orange region, and all islands have ports (except for Butwal and Cleopatra), but only Madarin Island South and Hammlin Island have Worldwide ports.

Teams

Team Reserves
All Teams may have a reserve of rentable Pokémon (in Cipher's case, they are all Shadow Pokémon). These Pokémon are given out to Team Members based on if they might be needed for a mission. A Boss may apply a reserve when first registered, and it may be no more than fifty (50) Pokémon in total to start, and must be organized by which rank can check out which Pokémon. An example is Cipher's Shadow Pokémon Reserve List.

Lists should be posted within the Team's Base, and when a Pokémon is rented out, the Trainer using it must be listed with it. It can be rented out for however long a Boss may with to have it be out, for months, for days, so long as who it's with is kept track of.

Adding To The Reserve
Members of a Team may catch Wild Pokémon to add to the Pokémon Reserve, and they will be filtered in to proper rank tiers. These Pokémon should not be added to a Trainer's roster, and should simply go straight to the Reserve for Team use. When adding to Cipher's reserve, they are made into Shadow Pokémon.

Team Member's Pokédexes
Missions can be made for a Team Member to steal a Pokédex. They can be stolen from a Laboratory (without consent from the Professor because  they have an unlimited supply) or they can be stolen from a Trainer (with consent only). This only applies if your Team Member never got a Pokédex the normal way, if they didn't, or if they were  going to do so undercover, they don't need to steal one.

Theft
Theft is allowed here on PokéFiends, but only if you have the other role player's OOC consent. Obviously you don't need the character's consent, but you do need their players'. The only "theft" allowed without consent is Snagging. Please update profiles accordingly when you organize a theft with someone. We don't require forms for theft to be carried out, as it is between players to organize, but profiles should reflect the change.
