Name: Layla Tucker
Nickname: Lales, Lay, Lay-Lay
Age: 16 [August 20th]
Trainer Orientation: Good
Birthplace: Saffron City
Family:

  • Father: Hector Tucker
  • Mother: Feyla Tucker
  • Sisters: Trixie Tucker (oldest), Dixie Tucker (second oldest)
  • Aunt: Sicily Fawn
[/color]

Starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur

Pokémon On Hand:

Azu: Azu is short for 'Azure', however, it was something that Layla didn't want to name her Pokémon, as she knew that Dixie's middle name is Azure. Azu is actually named for the bulb that grew upon her back, as it was a slight blue in colour, and now that she's an Ivysuar, a periwinkle coloured flower is what is starting to grow from her back instead of the normally seen pinkish colour. Azu is Layla's starter Pokémon, and has become very close with Layla, understanding her trainer's quiet nature and thinking not much of it. Azu also serves as a 'guard dog' when she's out of her PokéBall capsule and watches out for Layla when they both travel together or when they're out camping. Azu is hight defiant to evolving into Venusaur, much preferring her Ivysuar evolution stage.

Silver: Starting off as an Onix, Layla caught this guy, not sure of how things would really turn out. At first, the girl was afraid of him, but Silver proved himself to be quite the gentle, though protective, Onix in her company. A couple of years of owning Silver, Layla had been given a Metal Coat for her birthday and asked if the Onix wanted to evolve. Having neutral feelings to it, Layla decided to go ahead and apply to coating to Onix, awaiting his evolution. Now a Steelix, Silver is a lot more menacing and normally is the one that scares off anything and anyone that dares to mess with his trainer.

Tokki: A small Togetic, Tokki was raised by Layla ever since she was still residing within a red and blue speckled egg. Tokki sees Layla as a mother-type figure and therefore, is very close with her. When Tokki was just a Togepi, she often used Metranome with no idea that she was able to do so, much like other Togepi. It took a while for Tokki to get used to the idea of behin taugh moves for contests, but as she did and as she grew better, it didn't take much longer for her to evolve into Togetic.

Pheobe: This Pokémon was reeled up when she was just a Feebas. She's not all that great at defense, but her attacks are scary strong for a Milotic. When she's not in battle, Pheobe often has a gentle nature, though she can get a little irritated at some of the simplest things that go on. She's Layla's main contest entry as well... of there are double Pokémon evaluations, Pheobe is normally paired with Azu.

Ell: Another baby Pokémon that Layla owns. This Elekid, however, was befriended, not hatched. It's rather impetuous and jolly and is quite the handful. It's the Pokémon that makes up for Layla's quiet and withdrawn nature, as it normally has her chasing after it or something of the sort. It's big into action-type movies, liking to challenge Fighting-type Pokémon to small sparring matches. It normally loses, but that doesn't stop it from doing it's best the next time it decides to want to have a little spar with another Pokémon.

Maer: The mother-type figure of the team when Layla is out and about away from home. Maer is the one that normally keeps the other Pokémon in line and stops fights from breaking out in the team. She's never entered in any contests, but is used more often in battle. Maer is also skilled in searching out berries and other edible items out in the wild.

Appearance:

In appearance, Layla isn't as vibrant or brilliant as her sisters in what she decides to wear, instead, she's what's better known as 'the picture of innocence' in the Tucker family. Though she's not like her sisters in what she wears, her hair is the same inky black that seems to be a common trait in the trio and her eyes are the same emerald green in colour. Her hair is kind of pulled back with a very light pink ribbon and she's also got side bangs that hang down in the front and coming down to stopping at her collar.

For her apparal, Layla has on a pink plaid summer dress that isn't very intricate. Just a basic design, save for the tie-up section that she has on her chest. On her feet, Layla has white flip flops that have a small, faux flower on them.

When traveling, Layla often wears a white sun hat that has a pink ribbon on it and like her sisters before her, sports a messenger bag that's a combination of beige, pink and white in colour. This bag carries her PokéDex, PokéBall capsules, her Contest Ribbons, a Poffin and PokéBlock Case as well as other various items that she buys or finds on her travels.

Also... being a coordinator in contests, Layla has an array of different costumes on the line up for her to be using during them. Her most used one is her Rose Pink dress that has white ribbons sewn into the hems and lace at them -- there's also a sash that is tied on around the waist -- it's pink and white checkered.

Personality:

"She's the picture of innocence compared to Trixie or Dixie."

... And that's the truth. Layla is very unlike either one of her sisters. Because of being the youngest of her family, her parents often shielded her from a lot of the things that Dixie or Trixie would get themselves tangled up in. While growing up, Layla often kept to herself while she attended school and liked playing with the Ghost Pokémon that lived in Lavender Town whenever it was that she got to visit with her family (sans Dixie). Due to that being the case, it was rumoured around school for a short while that the Ghost Pokémon were the ones that stole her voice because Layla doesn't really talk all that much.

Layla isn't that quick to anger... in fact, she's actually a very patient of a person. She'll tolerate a lot, however, it it goes on for too long, she'll start to get slightly irritated. However, since she's so quiet, no one can really tell that she is... and Layla is also usually pretty much too scared to voice her own opinions and thoughts, lest they be shot down by someone, or make someone else more angry.

Personal History:

Born the youngest in the Tucker sister line, Layla has always looked up to Trixie and Dixie with a lot of respect -- Trixie, especially. However, even though Layla was the youngest and grew up around her sisters, she's what the two older sisters would consider to be the black sheep, seeming as she never took on their traits or habits save for the fact that Layla only likes reading up on anything valuable that she could just like Dixie. She didn't mind that she wasn't like her sisters, though. She knew that people were all different, and she was no acception to that in any way, shape, or form.

When Layla was about six years of age, she met a Haunter in Lavender Town when her family went there to allow their kids to learn about the history of the place. Having wandered a bit, Layla had found herself in meeting with a rather friendly Haunter that liked to play jokes on people. He meant no harm to them, and the girl saw this and was able to become friends with him, being able to play with him in around the town while she and her family were there. It was during the evening that her sister Dixie had found Layla with the Haunter -- this meeting having sparked the fear of ghosts in Layla's second eldest sister.

As they returned to school when the Tucker family returned to Saffron, it had gotten out that Dixie and Lay had a run-in with a Haunter -- Layla having spent more time with it than her sister. Because of this, rumours were spread of Layla's silent nature, it being said that the Haunter was the one that had stolen her voice. For the longest time, Layla wanted to speak up and tell everyone that that wasn't the truth, but couldn't bring herself to do so, only having that make people think that even more even though her sisters had said that wasn't the case.

At Layla's seventh birthday, she had the oppertunity to be going with her sisters into Pallet Town, though she declined in wanting to be staying home with her parents until she was actually ready to be living with her Aunt for a short while. With that, Layla bid her sister farewell and stayed home with her parents, getting to help out her mother with different things, and then slowly being influenced to becoming a coordinator. The idea was fascinating to her, being able to combine Pokémon attacks and basically create an art out of it.

With that thought firmly set in mind, when it came around to Layla's tenth birthday, she was taken to Pallet Town to get her very own starter. Knowing both of her sisters picks when they had left for Pallet Town the years prior, Layla had chosen the Bulbasaur that Professor Oak had and named her Azu for the colouration of the bulb that was upon her back.

She had just traveled through the Ilex Forest, not really wanting to look back upon the place. It wasn't to her liking... not with all the times that her dress, hair and ribbon had been caught on the overhanging branches and sticker bushes that poked up through the ground. Looking down to her dress, Layala gave a soft sigh as she spotted the small tears in it from the adventure in the forest and then looked around to her surroundings. There had to be a place where she could sit and fix the small tear....

Ah! Over to her right, there was a grassy area with a large, flat rock. That was perfect enough for her. So... making her way over to the rock, Layla adjusted the bag that was slung upon her shoulder and took a seat on the rock. Sighing, she dug in her bag for her emergency sewing kit and then took the ripped fabric into her hands. Looking at it for a moment, the girl brushed her hair back out of her face and then took her PokéBall capsules from her bag as well.

"I guess... I may as well let them out while I get this fixed..." Layla said to herself, releasing the Pokémon from their capsules. All around her, her Pokémon seemed to grin to the girl with joy as they got to spend time outside for the amount of time that they were going to be allowed. Smiling at them, Layla took the materials from her sewing kit and then threaded the needle for getting the rip sewed back up.

Goldenrod City was on the way, wasn't it? Layla would have to check her PokéGear again to see if that were the case. There were certain things that she held in priority and other things that she forgot relatively easily. The girl wasn't like her sisters... that wasn't going to change. Both of them... Trixie... Dixie... they were both so out there... not afraid to do anything and fighting for their dreams that they had left Saffron City with. Heh... she didn't even have the same ending as the two... '-ixie'... then again, there wasn't really another name that she could be called, and it was already said that her parents just refused to name her 'Pixie' (which she was eternally grateful for, even though she won't say it).

Giving another light sigh, Layla took the material between her hands and then proceeded to stitch the fabric back together. The department store in Goldenrod had to have been her first destination... Her dress was ripped a few times already, and there was no way that she was just going to continue stitching up every rip and tear that it had gained on her journeys. That would be too troublesome in the long-run and would make her appearance rather... sloppy looking... and that was something that she had never cared for. At all.

Azu, Layla's Ivusaur, took up to patrolling around the area and scanning the grassy areas for anything or anyone that may have been approaching. The periwinkle bud upon her back shivered slightly as Azu smelled the air. There didn't seem to be any awkward scents lingering about. Okay... that was good, at least. The periwinkle-budded Ivysaur knew of Layla's dislike for battles and did her very best to not allow for them to happen. Then again...

Azu turned her head up to look at the other three Pokémon that could pack more than just a punch in both battles and contests. The Pokémon being Maer, Silver and Phoebe (a Kangaskahn, Steelix and a Milotic respectively). Their power was something that Azu found herself to be envious of... especially when considering that it was her that Layla has started off with. At that, the Ivysaur actually contemplated evolving into Venusaur. It was something that she never really wanted to do... and even Layla's words echoed through her mind, 'if you don't want to evolve into a Venusaur, you shouldn't have to. Hehe... don't evolve for me, okay? When you're ready, you can choose to do so... I'm not going to force it.'

Why did she have to be so nice? Ah well... it was something that she and all the other Pokémon appreciated. Layla was nice, that's just who she was.

"Hehe... looks like I've finished up..." Layla said, her Pokémons' attention immediately turning from what it was that they were doing to her. Noticing this, Layla put her materials away and then back into her bag, sheepishly smiling to them, "but... i-it's been a long journey... you guys deserve some time from your capsules. G-go on, have fun," she smiled to them and the Pokémon resumed what it was that they were doing, making sure to stay close by just in case anything were to happen.
