The staff at the Pocket God Forums take the safety of members very seriously. We understand that there are many dangers on the internet and the age group of members on the forum (13-18) are particularly susceptible to. We ensure the Pocket God Forums remains a safe and friendly place for all users by taking a number of precautions.
We have very specific rules at the Pocket God Forums which prohibits members from disrespecting and harassing each other. These are enforced a great deal and any harassment is dealt with accordingly. Sharing personal details is very heavily discouraged, however we cannot stop members from doing so as it is up to their judgment and not ours. The staff do however remove any content such as phone numbers, addresses, and other specific information from the forum. If a member shares information about another without their permission, it is against the board rules and the staff will step in.
The forum itself collects vey little data. Attributed to every post is an IP Address, this is basically a string of numbers which is specific to each person on the internet. This is only viewable by staff and is not shared with anyone. It is used by the staff to check for multiple accounts and can also be used to permanently ban users. When you register you must include an email address - this is private. Only administrators can see this and members are only ever contacted by their email address if they allow administrators to email them via their preferences. We often send out a bulk email notifying members of upcoming closures but emails are never shared with anyone unless members do so. Members cannot send other members emails through the forum unless they directly share their own email address. This was allowed in the past but has been since disabled. Instead, a private messaging system is used. This is private and is not monitored by the staff, however we do have a report system in place where members can report any private messages which are not suitable. Members have the ability to ignore other members and disallow them to contact them if necessary.
Guests (users who have not registered an account) can see the entire forum, however they cannot see any member information such as profiles. This allows us to have a better understanding of who can see what and protects profile information from any undesirable people.
As stated in the Zetaboards Terms of Use, we must abide by COPPA regulations when it comes to collecting data from under thirteen year olds. We have opted to disallow all under thirteen year olds on the forum and upon discovering the accounts and any details pertaining to them are removed as per the Zetaboards Terms of Use.
