Plano Hogwarts is a wonderful online community for all fans of Harry Potter, JK Rowling, and the magic world she has created for us. Unlike most Hogwarts communities, this one does not require you to role-play. So, you can enjoy everything Plano Hogwarts has to offer by just being yourself!

PH has everything from JK Rowling's Hogwarts. From classes to Quidditch, sorting to even a DA, we've got it all! Among the usual, there are many other activities here for fans. There are games, various RPGs, contests, and discussions about anything you can imagine! You might even find yourself hunting for a certain Sorcerer's Stone, or participating in Triwizard Tournaments, or...who knows? =)

The staff and students here are some of the most wonderful people you could meet. Once you join, you'll make some great friends here, guaranteed.

The Spring 2010 Term will begin on Friday, January 15th.

There will be at least two classes offered at the start of the term. Further details will be posted soon.

The House Cup Championship will begin on the 15th. All house points earned from the Yule Ball will be counted towards this spring term.

Join a PH Committee!

PH originally had four committees. In the recent revamp, however, some committees were omitted as their responsibilities are now handled by the DHM, staff members, or the leadership team.
- The PDA's (Promotional Department of Activity) responsibilities are handled by all the staff members, with house activity delegated to the prefects
- The Snuffler Committee was disbanded several months ago; instead, the Snuffler Editor is in charge of the Snuffler, and any PH member may write articles for the Snuffler.

This leaves the following two committees:

- Party Planning Committee led by Cali (witchblade)
- Buddy System led by Dhee (dhesabatini)

The committee leaders cannot do it alone, however--they need your help!

The PPC (Party Planning Committee) is looking for TWO creative individuals, with lots of ideas and the initiative to make them happen! The PPC organizes events, parties, and contests for all of PH.

The Buddy Program is looking for TWO enthusiastic individuals, committed to helping new PH students! The Buddy Program pairs senior members with new members for guidance and organizes the Flying Lessons (a course designed to help PH students become comfortable with how PH works).

Congratulations to the new leaders!

Forum Cleanup/Revamp

On December 23rd, the staff and I did some major 'winter' cleaning. Details are below:

ALL old topics were either deleted, sent to Dung's Dump, or moved to Hall of Fame.
- Several sections of the forums were completely removed because they're being added to the Hogwarts Library--"The Three Broomsticks", "Madame Puddifoot's", "Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop", etc.
- The Hogwarts Library will be significantly expanded. More details on this to be posted!

Shops at Diagon Alley removed, with the remaining popular shops moved under Hogsmeade
- All other shops are in Dung's Dump. If their owners would like a particular shop to be resurrected, contact a staffer. It is then your job to make sure the shop is somewhat active, or else the shop will be deleted.

PPC moved to 'Around the Castle', Buddies' Room moved to 'Buddy Program', and PDA deleted
- Further details on these committees will be posted. All PDA responsibilities have been delegated to the staff and prefects.

All clubs (except for DA) were removed
- The Grafix Club is the only club that still exists, although it is hidden. So, if someone chooses to lead and resurrect the club, s/he will have the old tutorials and such to work with.
- Further information about starting clubs will be posted.

Only DADA, Enchantment, History of Magic, and Potions/Herbology are left under 'Classrooms'
- All other classes' information have been moved to the Professors' Lounge.
- More on classes/teachers to be posted.


Several other forums, such as the Shrieking Shack, the Wizarding Wireless Network, etc. were completely removed due to lack of interest. However, if members are interested in these discussions, or in starting other discussion forums, please contact Cali (witchblade) or myself with your ideas. Keep in mind, though, there must be enough interest to keep the forum active--otherwise, there's no reason in creating it.

Main Castle (www.planohogwarts.com/home) Will Be Removed

This site, long prone to spammers and bugs and who knows what else, will be removed. Most of its sections have already been deactivated to prevent spammers from overloading the server with thousands of spam comments.

Many of you have journals there, under "Riddle's Diary". If you want your journal saved, take action now! If you have only a few entries, you can save them yourself by copying and pasting them somewhere safe. But if you have a LOT of entries, send me a PM. I can export them to a Word Document, and email it to you.
Unfortunately, I cannot save comments to journal entries. So, if you would like those saved, you must copy/paste them on your own.

You have until January 7th, 2010 to save your journal! After that date, the main castle will be completely removed!

This also means that the 'Order of Merlin' awards and Honor Point system will be removed, along with all uploaded downloads or links. If you have important downloads--artwork, audio, etc.--please save them as well before January 7th.
