She's small for her age, since both of her parents are small, and she doesn't really like it. She considers herself fairly ordinary-looking. She has fair skin and long hair with some lighter and some darker shades of blonde. It is naturally very curly, but she has taken to straightening it now. It is typically left hanging past her shoulders, unless she is working or trying to focus on something, in which case she'll tie it back in a ponytail, or knot it with her wand. She just needs it out of her face, which is small and rounded. Her light blue eyes come from her mother, and are probably the one feature Liv is actually proud of. They're not a dark blue, or even a normal blue like most people's blue eyes would be. Liv's are lighter, almost grey. It would be cliché to say they are ice-like, but that's probably the best way to describe them. Some say the eyes are the window to a person's soul. That's hardly the case for Olivia. For Liv, they act more like a shield, though occasionally some true emotion breaks through. Most of the time, however, they remain unrevealing. Liv is almost five feet tall now, but hadn't developed much. She's only twelve years old, after all. When she's not in her school clothes she finds her muggle clothes to be a preferable alternative. And she actually knows how to dress herself in muggle clothes, becuase she is muggle-born. She usually wears jeans and a shirt that fits her nicely enough. There's nothing fancy in her wardrobe, mainly because her family can't afford to be buying her expensive clothing, and she's going to grow out of it soon enough. Liv doesn't bother herself much with how she looks. It's not like people notice her in a crowd, anyway. The last note to be made about her appearance is the necklace that she always wears. It's a small opal pendant that her parents gave her after she got her letter from Hogwarts. It's a round opal with a tiny diamond above it, and the stones are set in white gold and placed on a white gold chain. Personality: Liv is one of those people that others look at and they can just tell she's the quiet one. Liv had always been the kind of child that kept to herself. This was partly because she was an only child, growing up learning to have to entertain herself from day to day. Her father gave her her love for books, and Liv would spend hours getting lost in a world that didn't exist. Liv likes the quiet, and is bothered by large crowds of people. She feels lost in big groups, and it heightens her feeling of lonliness. Because she is so introverted, Liv has a very hard time making friends. While other children are quite comfortable together, Liv always feels like the odd one out. This is why she spends so much time with her books, and so little time with others. She is the quiet, invisible bookworm in class that no one really knows much about - and she is used to life being that way. Since she knew she could not succeed socially, Liv spent time trying to master other skills. She is a fast and avid learner, interested in gaining any extra knowledge or skill that she can. When she received her letter from Hogwarts, Olivia got her books as soon as she could and began studying them. She was determined to know as much about the wizarding world as she could, before becoming a part of it. She may not fit in, but Liv will not allow herself to fall behind. Olivia is gifted with a wand, and she knows how to use it if she needs it - even though she's only 12. Liv works hard and likes to learn, but she does not make a show out of it, nor does she challenge others. She takes pride in what she accomplishes, but rarely gets to share it with someone else. Liv doesn't open up to people easily, but if someone got to know her, they would see she is a polite, caring girl, and friendly with people she is comfortable around. Olivia is also very determined, but she is not particularily competitive. Although she is shy, that's not to say that she can't stand up for herself. She just doesn't like conflict. If people give her a hard time about something, she'd rather ignore them than fight with them. She is fiercely protective of her parents. Should someone make the mistake of hurting them, Liv's normally great amount of patience will run out in record time. She does not take kindly to people taking from her the few things she loves. History: Liv was born in Kingston, England, to muggle parents. Her father owns a bookstore and her mother is a forensic antropologist. Liv attended muggle school up until she got her letter saying that she was a witch, and had been selected to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It sounded so strange, and would have been hard to believe had Liv not been such a strange child. Besides her tendency for seclusion, Liv did things... strange things... that no one could explain. She and her parents mostly shrugged it off as a mistake or an accident, but sometimes things happened that they just couldn't explain. Like when she was scared once, and ended up causing a cabinet full of glass to fall and smash on someone. Well, now they had an explanation. Liv collected her schoolbooks and studied hard before her first year. She wanted to know just as much as the other children there, some of whom Liv was sure would already know about this wizarding world. Besides, curiosity was taking over her anyway. She longed to understand this new world that she was soon to be a part of. She wished she could do magic at home, but she had been told that was forbidden. Still, she was eager to get to school and see if she could do everything she had read about.
