Mette smiled as she took his comment about class so friendly, it seemed it did not go over the line like he thought it might've. He couldn't really remember what he was taking...he kinda jsut signed up for everything that had a sign up sheet that could be taken by 6th years. "Um...well any class a 6th year can, i guess." He let out a laugh at her description of a crazy event involving magic when she was a child. She was really quite colorful. But then she asked him the same, he thought hard, thinking he must've done something insane...but he lived in such a sheltered house and even town that it was hard to come up with something. Then it came to him, "Well I was about 12 yrs old and my father told me to come down and meet some of his buisness friends who had come over for dinner. I walked down stairs obediantly to meet them, but when i introduced myself I didn't bow or shake their hand or anything. My dad got furious later at my rudeness but it was totally worth it..." He seemed to become a bit nostalgic looking back at his past.

Xanthe frowned a little at his comment about taking any classes a sixth year can. Wow he's really smart then... I guess he did stellar on his owls. Xanthe thought to herself. "So you're taking Potions, Charms Transfiguration, History of Magic, Divination, DADA, COMC, Muggle Studies, Herbology, Arithmancy and Ancient Runes?" She asked dumbfounded. Xanthe was a seventh year and in all her time at Hogwarts she had never met anyone who took all of the classes possible as a sixth year.
"I learn something new about you with each passing minute... wow I'm taking everything except Arithmancy and Ancient Runes for now... I'm sure I'll drop a few classes once I figure out what I want to do with my life." Xanthe answered.

He looked at her wondering what the problem was and why she was so confused, "Yeah, that's not that many classes to keep up with, I mean I was sent here to learn wasnt I? This is a school and we are here 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, I'm sure I have enough time to take 10 classes." She had sparked something in him though...why did he want to take all these classes if he didn't have to, I guess he thought his father would want him to. Like that would be the mature and proper thing to do, but Mette really didn't like school, plus he knew what he was gonna do with his life, continue his grandfather's legacy. "Why did you come to Hogwarts Xanthe?"

Xanthe hadn't ever really thought about Hogwarts that way. Sure they were here to learn and taking in as much as they could sounded so obvious but really she had never thought twice about it. "Yah I guess... the thing is that's so simple but I never really thought about school that way. I mean yah we are here to learn but I learn better when it's something I care about, that way it doesn't have to be forced down my throat." She said with a smile. "But I guess we do have a lot of extra time I mean we do live here for almost a year so I suppose if you wan't to make the most out of it ten classes is the way to go." She said and laughed a little wondering why she was only taking eight. "I came because my parents wanted me to...well they did before the incident..." Xanthe said and trailed off mentally slapping herself for letting it slip out. "Oh yah and my older sister Skye had already been here a few years. Plus my twin really didn’t want to go alone and practically force my parents to let me come. I guess I don't really know, I'm pureblood it was inevitable."

Mette was glad she saw his point, for he did not feel it was truly his own and though he wanted to belive he could not, she helped jusftify it and that was enough for now. "Knowledge is the exlir to life, it is medicine. If it was not shoved down our throats we would not survive. I am not so sure i wanted to learn to speak, but I was influenced by the world around me to have to, this is the same with working, it is not as though i wish to work when i leave my parents household. It is crammed down my throat to learn how to, so i can live a good life. As for education, it is a must to learn to live a life we love. It is one of the few types of medicine that i force down my own throat, for through it I hope to gain a new respect for life and love. I am not sure of the factors involved of your incident but i believe that if a parent does not wish to give thier child the medicine of education it must have been an incident of greatness. Would you care to share such knowledge, i am eager to hear of this incident for the reasons previously stated."

Xanthe smiled and nodded as Opal continued and she took in everything he was saying. She really liked talking to him because everything he said was so unique, and thoughout that it was like a new perspective on life. "Well they weren't trying to keep me from an education. I'm pureblood and they wouldn't dream of sending me anywhere that spells and such weren't taught but this isn't close to myhome and at the time they weren't sure if it would be best for me to be so far away." Xanthe explained with a nod. There was a lot more to the story but she wasn't really sure if Opal would want to hear the rest. Plus she was almost positive he would have something else that was more interesting to talk about.
