You're Going Home Alone Tonight

Xanthe was in a carefree reckless mood and didn't really care what went on. At the moment she was dancing around the girls dorm which was empty in a long t-shirt and her boy short underwear. She wasn't really expecting anyone to come by and was confident enough with her body to not care if they had. Blasting music and dancing around in a happy mood were some of her favorite things to do, especially together.

  • Well, that day had been a long one. All the classes she had, then the homework she had, then having to eat, it was like she never got to chill out all day. She wasn't exactly sure why she'd done her homework so early, she never did. But, she had, and she was pretty angry, because if she hadn't she would have had more free time. She entered the Hufflepuff common room ad removed her robe and her gray sweater, still dressed in the rest of the school uniform. The skirt was rolled up so it was a little bit shorter, but not slutty. The sleeves of her white button-down shirt were rolled up half-way, and her tie was done up loosely, the first two buttons of her shirt undone. Her hair was down and in soft, loose curls, her lashes lengthened with mascara and her eyes lined with black eyeliner. She marched up the stairs towards the girl's dorm and heard muic. Raising her eyebrow, she entered the dorm and caught sight of Xanthe dancing around. Clearly the girl had had more free time than Brooke. She smiled and walked into the room silently, her footsteps drowned by the music. She jumped on the bed close to Xanthe and said "HI-HO!" rather loudly, still bouncing on the bed, her robe and sweater on a pile beside her.

Xanthe hadn't noticed Brooke until she shouted rather loudly causing Xanthe to turn around and loose her balance. She fell off the bed and rolled to the side, hitting the dresser in the process. "Owww" Xanthe moaned and sat up before bursting out into a fit of giggles. "Hello to you too Brookie." Xanthe said with a laugh and stopped the music. She smiled and sat down the bed after pulling on some shorts. "So how have you been?" She asked and began to swing her legs back and forth. She was happy to see Brooke because it had been a while since they had hung out and whatever they did was always fun.

  • Brooke laughed as Xanthe totally wiped out and rolled on the floor, banging into the dresser. The funny thing is about Brooke, when she got hurt and when other people got hurt, she tended to laugh at it. "Crap, that's gonna hurt in the morning," she said with a giggle. She smiled and nodded at Xanthe as she turned the music off and sat down with Brooke. Brooke smiled at the girl and shrugged. "I've been peachy! Loving living life right about now," she said with a smile. It was true, life was going pretty good for her. "How about you, darl? Broken any hearts lately?" Hmm highly doubted that Xanthe had broken any hearts, because Xanthe didn't exactly fit the description of a heartbreaker, but you know Brooke. She didn't always have to make sense, did she?

Xanthe smiled and laughed along wtih Brooke... she only laughed harder when she realized that after hitting her head she was laughing. "I'll just get a potion or something from Madame Pomfrey," Xanthe said and shrugged. "Really? That's amazing same with me everything is just falling into place... well except one thing." Xanthe said and began starring of to space. Well instead of saying that it had been one thing was wrong she should have said someone. "Not really... more of the other way around that was the one thing that isn't going stellar. See I met this guy the other day in potions and he was completely hot. And an ace at potions which I'm completely not... so we got to talking and I'm practically smitten. The thing is I can't tell if he even thinks of me that way." Xanthe said in a confused tone. It was like her to become completely infatuated with a boy after talking to him a few times.

  • Brooke laughed along with Xanthe. For some reason, people hurting themselves, and her hurting herself, was just so amusing. She had to laugh. Brooke nodded at Xanthe's potion idea. Brooke sat up and turned to face her to hear the girl's story as to why one thing wasn't so great. She listened as Xanthe explained her problems with a guy. Go figure, weren't like, all of women's problems something that had to do with a man? Or, at least the majority of them. She raised her eyebrow as Xanthe finished her story. "God, guys can be such buttheads," she said, putting her hand on her friend's shoulder. "I bet he does, you're pretty awesome," she said with a smile. "Just wait it out, something will happen... I can feel it! And if it doesn't, feel free to slap me for getting your hopes up and then making then crash and burn," she said with a laugh.

Xanthe nodded with Brooke's statement about guys and laughed again. She was happy that Brooke had found her in the dorm because she would have been seriously bored without her. "I have no idea but I was trying to just do the friends thing with guys for know. I don't know I mean I'm not really looking for a boyfriend and seeing as I don't do flings well... yah." Xanthe finished and smiled as Brooke put a comforting hand on her shoulder and offered more adive. "Yah I guess... I mean maybe he thinks it's too soon to say something. No I won't slap you for getting my hopes up! You've made me feel loads better I think we should have a girls night out or in... get a few butterbeers, listen to music and have fun without boys."

  • Brooke nodded, understanding where Xanthe had been coming from. She honestly thought she'd had enough of guys judging her and labeling her. That was, before she met James. She knew what Xanthe meant when she said that though, and it was a pretty good plan. "I hear ya sister," she said, patting her friend's shoulder. Brooke smiled when she heard that she made Xanthe feel better. She loved making people feel good and happy. She was just a good and happy type of person. She nodded vigorously at the idea of a girl's night in. "Oooh, yay! I totally agree sister, you need to get the subject off your mind, and what better way to do that then hang with your girl?" she said with a smile, wrapping her arm around Xanthe's shoulder. "When and where, and I am so there it's insane."

"Thanks." Xanthe replied with a smile and paused. She wasn't really sure how to say what she wanted to because it was one of those things that felt like it was going to sound better in your head. But usually the case with stuff like that was that you figured it sounded better in your head after you had said it. This time was different thought... Xanthe knew it already sounded better in her head and she hadn't even started talking. "I really like you, you're a good friend. Sometimes I think that I was born at the wrong time... like I'm supposed to be in a different year? As if I fit in with people who aren't quite my age but could pass as 17 any day. Do you ever get that feeling?" Xanthe asked.

"Yah I didn't think about it helping me get over all of this boy stuff but that's another plus. When I said it I had just meant to get everyone together and have fun. So what do you think we should do? And where do you think we should go?" Xanthe asked.
