The house on the hill creaked as the wind swept through it.

A cliche, Tom mused as he paced through the grave yard of little Hangleton and into the House grounds. A surge of power from his wand blew the door down. He entered, the blown in leaves crunching at his feet.

Interesting.

Nagini still lurked here, hurt and wounded. Her milk littered the floor. Tom knelt and wove a finger through it then sucked his finger: the taste of darkness and poison.

He called in parcel tongue for the Snake, his horcrux. Sadly is slithered away - frightened of its former master.

before he could pursue it a rapping of feet came up the hill side.

Well, she better have a good reason for following after the Dark Lord. At least, she better have a good reason for being in Little Hangleton in the first place. And, of course, she didn't...except that she was rather surprised to see him, since she had been taking care of the snake, Nagini. She rushed after her lord, afraid that he would kill the snake, after all the work she had put into it. "My Lord," she said, running up to him, slightly out of breath.

"Julianna" He hissed.

"Why are you here?" His voice was bitter, his hand already caressing the wand in his pocket.

Oh, she was on dangerous ground now. She wasn't sure if she should have been taking care of Nagini, but she couldn't just let it die. Although the Dark Lord took out his anger on the snake, she knew that he would be even more displeased if it had died. "I was taking care of Nagini, Lord," she responded, bowing to her knees in front of him.

"I did not order your to."

He looked at her intently. "However though you do not understand her importance, you have done well to keep it from death."

He called out for Nagini in parseltongue again, this time screeching her name. A great light erupted from his wand, filling the riddle house with blinding luminance.

"NAGINI!" He roared.

The slight dimmed and a hissing came from the next room. The huge snake was before him, cut up and bleeding.

He spoke with her, apologizing - she was his only friend. A flick of his wand and her cuts were healed.

"Continue to look after the snake!"

"No, my Lord, you did not. I am sorry, Lord." She braced herself, waiting for punishment to fall....but then it didn't. "Her importance, Lord?" she queried, knowing that the Dark Lord probably wouldn't tell her, but hell, she was being given praise. She listened as he spoke parseltongue, a language that was beyond her talents. Nagini came sliding in at last...looking better than the last time she had seen the snake, and Julianne watched as Voldemort healed her. And then she was ordered to look after the snake. "Of course, Lord. I will take excellent care of her."

"Her importance is for me to know alone!" He rose slightly, daring her to say no more. His eyes flickered.

"Nagini is close to death, I feel it all around her. Treat her with respect, I shall kill her soon."

His black hood rose like a crown on his head.

He turned to other subjects.

"I sense your discomfort with Adriana," he said simply, "Tell me of her insubordinations."

Julianne wisely didn't say anymore. However, when asked about Adriana, she was only too gleeful to tell him. "I noticed that she and Bellatrix were in Knockturn alley. I noticed that they were being stupid about showing themselves off, especially Bellatrix, because she is currently the most wanted person in England. They were cocky, saying that they could both defeat one auror, and then I pointed out that they traveled in packs now. I also said that I would have them at my feet, if we were not in public, for their oversight. And then Adrianna insulted me. So, I hexed them both, and left, as I did not want to cause a scene."

"I believe I am the most wanted person in England," He corrected proudly, smiling cruelly.

"They shall both be severely punished Soon. Bellatrix' arrogance has not gone unnoticed, her rank will replace even that of Lucius!"

"Aye, my Lord, you are. I imagine, though," she said, "That some people would not want you at their door, because they fear their own death at your hands." She believed him fully when he said that Bella would get what was coming to her. "You are most gracious, Master."

Julianne watched him go, knowing that something was up with the snake. Regardless, she would take care of Nagini. The snake didn't seem particularly inclined to like Julianne, which was fine, as long as she didn't bite her, because then Julianne would have to murder it. She turned back to her task.
