[continued from before... let's say it's the night of the start-of-term feast (just for RPing purposes). everyone's gone to bed, though.] Veronique Veronique laughed a little. "Yea... you know, sometimes I wonder if I understand your side of it more than regular girls. Why they want to get so attached to one person is beyond me. I think it's easier just to just go with what you've got. If you warn them in advance then it's their fault for going and getting inolved in something they knew would hurt them." Veronique said frankly. "I dunno. Maybe I'm being harsh again. I guess I just agree with your way of going about things. Go around, don't get too emotionally inolved, and just enjoy it." She finished, looking over at him. Sean "Exactly, but I guess I'll have to settle down soon. I mean I'm 17 and I'm out of school after this year." He said shrugging. Veronique "Nah," Veronique said, also shrugging. "You've got time, even after school. What are you going to do when you leave, anyway? Have you decided?" She asked him. |

"Sorta, I mean I'm not sure if I want to do this though but I think I will." He said looking down at the ground and shrugging. "I may be a Ravenclaw but I think I will join Voldermort." He said looking up at Veronique not sure what her reaction would be. |

"I may be a Ravenclaw but I think I will join Voldermort." Sean said. He looked up at Veronique, but she quickly shifted her eyes to watch the ground in front of her. "Oh." She said quietly. She didn't think she'd ever heard of a Ravenclaw joining with Voldemort, but it wasn't impossible. Probably just as uncommon for a Slytherin not to join him. "Why do you want to do that?" Veronique asked Sean, still not making eye contact. |

"Why not?" He asked shrugging. "If it's what I believe it." He tried making contact with her but she wouldn't meet his gaze. He laughed. "What are you gunna judge me now?" He asked. |

"Why not?" Sean responded with a shrug. "If it's what I believe." She could tell he was trying to get her to look him in the eye, but she couldn't do it. "What are you gonna judge me now?" He asked her. She shook her head, but didn't say a word. It was the stereotype of Slytherin House for most of it's members to become Death Eaters. This was rooted in the fact that Slytherins were purebloods, and almost every pureblood believed they were better than other types of wizards. Veronique's family was one of the strange ones that didn't follow Voldemort. When Sean asked her if she was going to judge him, she said she would not. That didn't mean she was going to agree with him. For most of her life, Veronique had known what it felt like for others to think they were better than her. After she and her sister... well, after they came out of those fateful woods, they were treated differently by everyone. Even their parents couldn't accept them. It took a while before their condition became the norm, but things were never the same. Other kids had parents telling them they couldn't play with the Largsum twins. The sisters became alone... all they had was each other. And Veronique knew full well there were people out there that would be happy to off people like Veronique and Salacia just because those people thought the sisters were different. Inferior. Unworthy. So really, Veronique couldn't sympathize with the Death Eater's cause. They were out to 'purify' the wizarding race. They were going to get rid of anyone that, in their eyes, was not 'superior'. Veronique thought it over a bit and then gave Sean a real answer. "No. I began to judge you a while ago, and I thought you were OK. If you want to join the Death Eaters, that's your coice. I just can't say I'd do the same thing." She looked up at him for a second, then back at the ground. She realized she'd just given up one of her family's most guarded secrets. If someone found out they were not Voldemort supporters... well, that would anger lots of people. |

"So are you saying I'm not 'okay' anymore because I believe in something?" He asked. "I mean I'm not going to judge you whether you believe in Voldermort or not." He said. "I just don't want you to push me away." He said. |

"No." Veronique said, feeling like she'd just messed it up again. Yes, it always happened, one way or another. Normally people just avoided her entirely, or ran off once they learned what she was. Granted, she had never told Sean what she was, but he still talked to her. She was still cynical, sarcastic, and at times, rude. But he stayed and talked to her, and she was just beginning to think she might have found someone she could actually be friends with. But of course not. That would have been too easy. "No, I'm not going to push you away," Veronique said, walking a bit closer to him. "I just... it's complicated, OK? It's not to do with you so much as Death Eaters and their beliefs in general. Forget I said anything," Veronique told him, hoping that he wasn't mad at her now. She knew she should have kept her mouth shut. People just didn't understand, she knew that... |

"Alright I get what your saying." He said smiling a bit more. "So now that you know something about me and what I believe what about you? You must have something you can tell me?" He said. |

Veronique was glad to see him smile a bit. Good, she hadn't made him angry enough that he would leave her. He did, however, ask her to tell him more. "What?" Veronique said with a slightly bitter laugh. "As if I haven't given you enough reason to hate me alreay? You're still asking for the very secrets of my inner self?" Veronique said it all with sarcasm, and most of it was true. He should have been long gone by now... she didn't understand why he would stick around after all she'd said. She wasn't any good in meaningful relationships. If he was looking for a deep friendship, it wasn't going to happen. And yet here Veronique was, telling him things she never tells anyone. There was still plenty to be said, but she wasn't going to share it with just anyone, not matter how trustworthy they appeared. Besides, if she continued on it would only cause him to hate her more and then where would she be? It was going to take an awful lot of convincing on his part to make her share much more. |

"Well I was bored by myself and you are the only person around, and I don't care what you say you aren't that bad of a person. I've met some worse people. My father had to be the worse person I've ever met." He said smiling. "You don't have to tell me anything, It's just a long night and so we might as well talk about something interesting." He said. |

"Oh, I see," Veronique said. "Well, I suppose this is interesting enough." She didn't know how to explain this to him. "Look. It's not that I don't want to keep talking, it's just..." God, this went against everything she worked for. "I just know if I keep telling you about me, you'll think I'm crazy or manic depressive or something... and I can't really risk losing another almost-friend. Well, you're kind of the only person I've talked to in a long time, so..." Veronique shook her head. She sounded like some kind of pathetic emotional girl that couldn't deal. "Nevermind, I'm noting making sense again." She told Sean. |

Sean stopped in his tracts. "I promise you, I won't judge you. I'm not like that I swear. I won't turn around and walk away from you. You're a sweet girl and even though your sarcasm is rude sometimes it's rather very funny." He said laughing. |

Veronique noticed Sean stop, and she halted abruptly. She looked up when he spoke to her, a bit surprised at his words. "I promise you, I won't judge you. I'm not like that I swear. I won't turn around and walk away from you. You're a sweet girl and even though your sarcasm is rude sometimes it's rather very funny." He told her. She couldn't help but just look at him for a second. No one had ever called her a 'sweet girl' before. She couldn't decide whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. Well, at least he wasn't judging her. And he thought her sarcastic comments were funny sometimes? Weird... "Umm," Veronique said, still standing there, facing him. "Really?" Was her immediate reaction. Then she shook her head and said, "Sorry you just surprised me. No one's ever said any of that to me before. No one ever gets my sarcasm, it's kind of annoying," she explained. She looked back up at him, waiting for him to laugh and say, "Just kidding!" And she would end up hurt... or at least alone, again. |

"Maybe," Veronique said with a shrug. "I think people just find different ways to deal with things they can't understand." She added. It had been her theory for a while - that in addition to all the bitches and bastards she knew, the rest of the descent people that treated her like a freak just didn't know what to do. People like her had a bad reputation, even in the muggle world. |
