The Commandments Here on Phoenix Tears, we have several rules that we would like you to attempt to abide by. If you do not abide by these rules, there will be consequences, especially since we are fairly lenient admins. We want this to be a fun site, and in order for that to happen, there have to be some guidelines. You must pay attention to the rules, otherwise you might miss something for your application. Also, these are subject to change at any time. Commandment I: Registration I.I. Invisionfree declares that no one under the age of 13 is allowed on this site. If you are not 13, please leave immediately. I.II. User names should be real names. Ex: Harry Potter. Not hp_lover2312, ronweasleysgurl_99, or <3ginnyweasley<3. These will be deleted immediately. No middle names in your username. Herky is Anna's hero. Feel free to check the plot character listing before registering, in case you want to play one of them. I.III. Do not post anywhere except the questions forum until you have posted an application, and been accepted. Commandment II: Your Characters II.I. After registering a user name as your character name, there are two different places to go. If you have an original character, you will need to apply in the original character forum. If you are playing a plot character, you will need to apply in the plot character forum. II.II No one is allowed to have more than two characters without permission of an admin. Please PM your ideas to either Alex or Anna, and chances are we will approve if you are active with both of your other characters. II.III. If you miss an activity check (five days, once every other month) we will unsort your character, and move your application to the inactive forum. This does not apply to those who have told us in advance that they will be absent. PM an admin to be resorted. Also, if you are gone more than one month, your ability, quidditch, and prefect positions will be in jeopardy of being taken away. II.IV. Check the plot characters before applying. Your character might be taken. Also, no original characters are allowed to be related to canon characters. Pureblood characters are listed in the plot character list. No original characters are allowed to be purebloods. The feather is Mario's weapon of choice. Commandment III: Applications III.I. Every character on this site has a 'file'. This is a thread where all of your character's appearance, personality, and history will be stored. Please remember to update it every once in a while. You get only one thread per character. Please make the topic title your character's name, in this format: (Last Name, First name, and Middle Initial) (Ex: Potter, Harry J.). Leave the topic description blank. III.II. The applications may be found in the appropriate application forum, in the Registration category on the board index. Do not leave unfinished applications in the forum. They will be deleted immediately. III.III. Make sure you are using the correct form. If you do not know, ask! III.IV. You are not allowed to make your character of a certain ability or race until you have applied to do so. III.V. Please keep your characters unique, and true to form. Not every character will be entirely beautiful and have everyone falling all over them. Also, not every character will have some sort of disease, mental illness, dead parents, etc. We don't really appreciate sob story, pity characters. If your character was raped, abused, and his/her parents were murdered by Voldemort right in front of them when they were young...for the love of...rethink your history. III.VI. Applications will be looked at in a short amount of time. We do not want our inboxes flooded with requests for us to sort you out right away. We are not blind. We know you are there. If we have not looked at your application after three days, then you may PM us. Commandment IV: Posting IV.I. This is an R rated role-playing game. As such...it is a good idea to remember that anything in excess is probably not wanted. Please don't swear every other word, or depict graphic sex scenes. IV.II. This is an intermediate role-play. Posts should be well defined most of the time, and have a minimum of 200 words. No exceptions. Schematics belong in labs. IV.III. All role-playing should be done in third person, past tense. Such as: "Harry pulled his wand and shouted, "Expelliarmus!" This is incorrect: "Harry is pulling his wand and shouting, "Expelliarmus!" Character applications may be written in first person, but we advise that if you have trouble writing, write in third person. IV.IV. Spamming anywhere except in the general discussion section of the board is not allowed. Bumping topics is not allowed, except for in the relationship databases forum. If you need someone to look at a topic, please PM them. IV.V. There is no god-modding or powerplaying here. You cannot control any characters but your own. No character will be all-powerful. All characters will have weaknesses, or they'd be gods. There will be no Mary Sues or Gary Stus here. If you don't know what these are, they are characters that are perfect in every way, suck life and excitement out of roleplay, never do anything wrong, and often 'save the day' every time. We don't want these. IV.VI. Only post in topics that are open for you to post in. Closed threads should be left alone unless you recieve permission from the characters involved. Warnings and suspensions will be given out freely for this, without exception. Commandment V: Member Behavior V.I. No flaming, no bashing, no disrespect, or harassment of any member. This will earn you an immediate suspension. This is a no-tolerance rule. Repeated offenses will earn you an immediate ban, no exceptions. Alex likes to smell books. This includes insulting based on religion, race, sex, among other prejudices. This is solely an out-of-character rule. Of course characters may have whatever prejudices they wish. V.II. Do not backseat moderate. This means, do not take rule-breaking matters into your own hands. If you see posts of the above nature, report them to an admin, rather than telling the person off. Anyone who does this will be subjected to the same consequences as the person who committed the offense in the first place. V.III. Administrators have the final word. Don't argue with us. We have things the way they are for a reason; trust us. We are fair, merciful, and tolerant. Also, no administrator is above the other. Do not pm one administrator about a problem with the other, unless you have already tried to resolve it with that admin. V.IV. If you want to cause any character deaths, especially plot character deaths, you must receive permission from an admin. Commandment VI: Miscellaneous VI.I. Avatar Images may not exceed 150x150 pixels. You may have ONE signature image that is 400x300 or less, OR five images that are 150x150 pixels or less. Anna is searching for God knows what. VI.II. No plagerizing. No redistributing. No copying. Everything on this site is copyrighted. You must have the owner's permission. If you violate this rule, you will be suspended.
