Just working on some things... Template --- Name: Age: Hobby/Occupation: Powers: Personality: Someone's in trouble! What does this character do?: Stats and Stuff --- Stats are as follows. HP: MP: SP: WP: Attack: Defense: Magic Attack: Magic Defense: Speed: Sync with (X): HP - Hit Points, of course. Everyone starts with the same amount. (Undetermined.) I think everyone knows how HP works. MP - Magic Points. Using Team Moves, X Sync Moves, or Magic depletes these points. They're pretty useful. SP: Stat Points. Points used to raise your stats. The best part? You can choose which stats raise, and you can lower stats to get more stats in a different area. (Explained better later on.) WP: Weight Points. Let's face it. Equipment is heavy. This restricts you from using that awesome sword you bought, unfortunately. Attack: How much damage you deal with physical attacks. Basic stuff, you know? Defense: How much damage your enemies deal to you. Once again. Basic. Magic Attack: How much damage you deal with Magic attacks. Magic Defense: How much damage you recieve from enemy Magic. Speed: The order of attacking, or outside of battle, the determining factor of shortcuts. (Explained better later.) Sync with (X): (X) being the name of a character. This tells you how much your character gets along with another, and lets you know what you can do with this specific character. Character Classes --- Depending on your stats, your character will be automatically assigned a class. This will depend on the highest stat that you have at the moment, which means your character class can change often. Abilities that certain classes will give you will be listed later, when I figure out some class names. Items --- One person can hold up to 10 items (Well, the number depends on how many people join.), and they can share items with anyone on their team, so long as they are synchronized with them. Buying items is as simple as having enough G (The currency is G.). Selling items is easy too. If you're at a Shop, you can sell the item for half the price it is worth. (Hey, would you buy something from an adventurer for FULL price?) Some items are an exception to this rule, and selling prices will be listed for items the party has whenever they pick up an item. Equipment --- You can hold an unlimited amount of equipment, but equiping them is different. WP plays a factor. Example of WP: Equipment Item: Heavy Super Strong Sword (Not a real item.) Weight: 20,000 WP. Your character's WP remaining: 1,000 WP / 2,000 WP. Your character would have to level up until they could equip that item. Your character gains 500 WP every time you level up. Equipment adds more points to your stats, depending on the item. Example of Stat Addition: Equipment Item: Heavy Super Strong Sword Description: (Not a real item.) Weight 20,000 WP. Stats: Attack: 200. Defense: -1,000. Only stats that are relevant to the item will show up. For example, Super Tough Armor isn't going to add any Attack points, so it won't show up on the Stat Addition table. Speed and Shortcuts --- Sometimes to go through places faster, and avoid fighting (And perhaps saving me some trouble with these calculations.), you can use your Speed stat to go through a shortcut. These include such things as passages that are about to crumble, but are much faster, jumping over obstacles, sliding through something that's about to fall, etc. You may need a high speed stat for some things but fortunately, it's the combined Speed stat of everyone who is with you. Basic Abilities --- There are some things that ALL characters can use. These abilities are as follows: Level 1-3 Magic - Weak magic, but sometimes useful. Run Away - I think you know what it does. Your Speed stat MUST be higher than ALL the opponents Speed stats. (Not combined Speed.) Throw - Toss an item at the enemy. (Calculation for this at the end of this post.) If you miss, you can't get the item back until the end of the battle. Advanced Abilities --- Based on the character template, you can get special abilities. I'm not even sure what they'll be yet. Synchronization --- Synchronization (I certainly hope I'm spelling it correctly.) is a rating of how well a character gets along with another. It's pre-determined by their Template ratings. Sync Table: 10%-40% Sync - Nothing. 50% Sync - Allows Item Sharing. 60% Sync - Allows Team Moves. (Will be described later.) 75% Sync - Allows an X Move. (Will be described later.) 100% Sync - Allows Healing without Items. (Described later.) It works kind of like this: Warrior Dan - Personality: Loves to help out others, and loves to eat. Fatty Dan - Personality: Doesn't like helping out others, but loves to eat. So Warrior Dan and Fatty Dan would have a 50% Synchronization, and that's enough to use items together. However, suppose that Warrior Dan meets with Warrior Daniel. They both have the exact same likes and dislikes, so their Sync is 100%. They can use an X move together. Healing without Items --- After getting 100% Sync with another, you can heal without using items. It is very helpful, and it saves items, which you can sell later and buy better equipment. It uses up 1/8 of your MP, however. X Sync Moves --- When two characters have 100% Sync, they can use an X move. This is generally a move that can end a battle really fast, as it can destroy most enemies in one hit. Upon using this move, however they cannot use items for the next 2 turns, so it's only if you're sure that it will destroy the enemy. (Calculations for these moves at the end of this post.) Calculations --- Attacking - (Character's Attack - Enemy's Defense = Damage.) Magic - (Depends on the spell. You'll know the calculations as soon as the spells are thought up.) Running away - (Character's Speed > All Enemies Speed. Not combined.) Shortcuts - (Combined Team's Speed > Shortcut's Required Speed.) Healing without Items - (Character's HP - Target's HP = Healing amount.) Team Moves - (Depends on the move.) X Sync Moves - (Character 1's (Magic) Attack + Character 2's (Magic) Attack - Target('s) (Magic) Defense = Damage.) Types of Items --- The types of items are as follows: Healing Items, Stat Boosting Items, Shortcut Items, Equipment Items, Sync Items, and Key Items. I've already covered Healing and Stat Boosting Items... Shortcut Items --- Shortcut Items can ADD to your Speed Stat, but ONLY for one use at a shortcut. Example: There's a ledge you can use as a shortcut. Your Team's Speed Stats Combined: 50. Speed Required: 60. You have a Shortcut Item, called Speed Shoes. (May not be a real item, I'm not sure.) It adds 10 Speed to your stat for use on Shortcuts. So your Team's Speed Stats Combined is now 60, and you can jump the ledge. AFTER YOU TAKE THE SHORTCUT, YOUR STAT IS LOWERED BACK TO WHAT IT ORIGINALLY WAS. Equipment Items --- Obviously items that you can equip. Swords, Shields, Spears, Knives, Armor, Shoes, Boots, Rings, Necklaces, Earrings, Hats, Socks, Gloves, etc. They have nice stat changes sometimes. Key Items --- Items that are useful to the storyline. Obviously, they cannot be sold, otherwise you couldn't advance. Sync Items --- Items that you can use to boost Sync between you and another character. It's that simple. Items that are able to be shared are any Healing Items, Stat Boosting Items, or Equipment items. Sharing Healing Items uses the item. Sharing Stat Boosting Items or Equipment just gives them the item. It doesn't use it. Types of Equipment --- There are a few types of equipment. Weapons, Armor, Shields, and Miscellaneous. You can equip two weapons OR two shields OR a weapon and a shield. Some weapons require two hands, leaving you with only one weapon equipable. You can equip one type of Armor. And Miscellaneous is limited only by WP. Notes on Stat Boosts from Equipment. --- Obviously, as you advance, equipment will become heavier. Weight list. Weapons < Shields < Armor. Weapons tend to not be very heavy, and still give nice Attack boosts. Shields are a little bit heavier, and give moderate defense boosts. They also don't lower the Speed stat as much as Armor would, because they are lighter. Armor is the heaviest, but gives really good Defense boosts. Also, they might have useful Abilities. Miscellaneous Equipment could be any weight, but the heavier the equipment, however, the more useful... |

Stat Numbers --- All characters start with 100 HP. All characters start with 50 MP. All characters start with 200 WP. All characters are given 40 SP, to raise stats as they wish. This includes all stats, and if a specific stat is missed for any reason, that stat is automatically zero. Battling --- The battle interface works like this. Randomly there will be battles through out the "game," whether it be a trap or just an encounter. Maybe it's a boss, who knows? All enemies have the same stats as their copies. Example: If you're fighting two Goblins, they'll both have the exact same stats. The character with the highest speed attacks first, UNLESS there are faster enemies. Example: Slowpoke Dan's Speed Stat - 1. High-Speed Internet's Speed Stat - 2. Superman's Speed Stat - 50. Bad Guy's Speed Stat - 9,000. The order would be, Bad Guy, Superman, High-Speed Internet, and finally Slowpoke Dan. However there are some special encounters where the Speed stat does NOT play a role in battle. Here's a list: Rigged Battles - You will either ALWAYS win this battle, or ALWAYS lose. Either way, you're at mercy of the battle. Ambush! - You always attack first. You get two free turns to attack, and then the enemies attack. Example: Ambush on two Goblins. Your team attacks. Your team attacks again. The enemy's turn. Trap! - You always attack last. You lose a turn to attack, and then you can attack. Example: Two Goblin's Trap you. They attack. They attack again. Your team's turn. Surrounding! - You surround the enemy. They are unable to attack the entire battle, unless they use magic. This is useful against enemies who don't know magic, but this doesn't occur very often. Surrounded! - You are surrounded by the enemy. You are unable to physically attack the enemies, leaving you to using only magic or special abilities. Perhaps a Special Ability could allow you to escape...? There are no calculations for those types of encounters, it's just randomly I'll decide if there should be a special encounter or not. So sorry. >_< Limits on Equipment --- First off, let's just say, that you're only human. So you've only got two arms. You could equip two arm equipment items, such as two swords, a sword and shield, or two shields, but you can't obviously equip three swords. That's just absurd. Here are the limits. Head Items - One Helmet, otherwise no limit. Body - One chest armor, otherwise no limit. Arms - Two weapons, or two shields, any other miscellaneous items have no limit. Legs - One leg armor, otherwise no limit. Feet - Only footwear. Occasionally you can find miscellaneous equipment that is so little, it doesn't matter how many things you're wearing, you can still equip them. This includes items such as gloves, hats, earrings, rings, necklaces, wings, tails, spikes, or any sort of small item that comes your way. Items will have good descriptions as they show up, so you will know what kind of item it is, and how it can be used. Stats Boosting or Replenishing Items --- Items that replenish HP or MP, or boost Stats are as follows. HP --- Berry - Heals 10 HP. Extremely Common. Potion - Heals 25 HP. Common. Mega Potion - Heals 50 HP. Uncommon. Elixir - Heals all HP. Rare. MP --- Fruit - Heals 5 MP. Extremely Common. Ether - Heals 15 MP. Common. Hyper Ether - Heals 30 MP. Uncommon. Magilixir - Heals all MP. Rare. HP and MP --- Strange Liquid - Heals 20 HP and 10 MP. Uncommon. Mixed Liquid - Heals 40 HP and 20 MP. Highly Uncommon. Omnipotent Liquid Heals ALL HP and ALL MP. Extremely Rare. High Selling Price. WP --- Weights (X) - Depending on the number of (X), you gain that much more WP. Uncommon. (X) Boost --- (X) can be replaced with Attack, Defense, Magic Attack, Magic Defense, or Speed. Example: Magic Attack Boost. All these items raise the specific stat by 5. Rare. Experience Points (EXP.) --- These are points that are gained after each victorious battle. Depending on what level you are, you will need to gain a certain amount of EXP. to gain another level, and raise your stats. Bonus EXP. is attainable by doing some small tasks or side-quests. Mysterious Light --- Occasionally, there will be Mysterious Lights that can fully heal your HP and MP when you find them. They can also be used to sell items that you no longer want. However, selling at Mysterious Lights may not be as beneficial as selling at a Shop. Shops --- Every shop contains items best suited for the nearby enviornment. There are certain things you can do at shops, such as Buy, Sell, or Talk. Buy - You can buy whatever the shopkeeper has to sell. (Raises Shop Sync.) Sell - You can sell whatever you own to the shopkeeper. Talk - The shopkeeper may have vital information. Though he usually doesn't, it might be nice to talk to him every once in awhile. Especially if you're looking for someone. Shop Sync --- Shopkeepers will remember who you are if you buy what they're selling. If you buy enough from them, they'll like you more and more. Eventually, you'll be able to buy stuff cheaper from them if you buy more from them. All shops with the same names have the same Sync, so don't worry about having to go to that specific town just to buy a Potion. (Hehehe.) The rewards of Shop Sync are highly beneficial. Enviornmental Dangers --- Some enviornments are dangerous. Like snowstorms, sandstorms, storms, and windy areas. Here's some ways to protect yourself from taking damage in these conditions, and saving your HP. Snowstorms --- During snowstorms you lose 5 HP each turn, and chances to become frozen are higher. To avoid this, wear any sort of fire or ice equipment, and you're safe. Sandstorms --- During sandstorms, you lose 5 HP each turn, and you cannot cast Magic, because you cannot see. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable. High Wind --- During High Wind, there are high winds. (Duh.) You will be easily blown around, and your attack stat is halved. To avoid this, use up more than 2/3 of your WP. You will become heavy enough to avoid this. Fire --- The area around you is a sea of flames, and you will be burned badly if you attempt to escape. You will lose 10 HP if you attempt to run away, but you can still get away. To avoid taking damage, try wearing Water or Ice equipment. There may be more enviornmental dangers that I've missed, but if they're added in mid-game, I'll warn you about them before you see them. I'm fair, not a cheater. Teams --- Depending on how many people join, there will be a certain number of teams. Depending on which members are online, that team will advance through the storyline. There are seperate storylines, marked with seperate topics, but there may be an occasional cross-over. Each team has a Team Leader, who chooses what the team does outside of battle. This will work much like a democracy, however, where the entire team decides what happens. The title Team Leader is just if there is ever a tie, the Leader decides. I will choose each Team Leader, and people will vote on who they want to be teamed up with. Online and Offline Members --- Let's face it. We're not all online at the same time. However, if there are at LEAST 2/3 of the team online, they can decide to continue on without their missing team member. UNLESS IT'S THE TEAM LEADER. THE TEAM LEADER MUST BE PRESENT. Any absent members will still gain EXP. as if they were there, but they will not get any new items or equipment. |

Hm ... seems interesting. But it would be a crapload to remember and manage. Wonder what this would be like as a flash game?

Good question. I don't know how to make a flash game though, so it'll probably never happen. |

Wasn't truly able to read it all through. If this really is supposed to be an RPG, it can't be turn based because there are a lot of stuff pretty much impossible for it to happen. |
