In Character Information Name: Freyja Ralston [When Freyja decided to start interacting with humans she realized that she needed a surname, so she chose use her sires.] Age: she looks in her mid to late 20’s but doesn’t talk about her exact age. Height: somewhere between 5’1” to 5’3” (155 cm to 160 cm) [dont ask me for meters... i dont know lol XD] Build: thin, lithe, semi athletic. Skin Color: pale Eye Color: normally her eyes are a pale blue. When she “turns” they’ll shift to an obsidian color – making her eyes almost seem like there’s no pupil or iris – just solid black on white. Hair Color: deep red with dark brown highlights. Hair Length: waist length, with a bit of a curl to it. She’ll usually have it tied up and back in a loose braid, fashioned somewhat after the way Viking women used to fashion their hair. Or completely loose with one to a few beaded braids scattered in her hair. Distinguishing Marks: undetermined General Style of Dress: Being somewhat of a consummate professional, she tends to wearing clothes that reflect this. While she’ll never wear a tie – she’ll also never wear anything that isn’t neatly pressed. So dress pants/suits are her main staple, and though while she’ll often wear the shirt untucked and/or slightly unbuttoned – she never looks anything but neat and tidy. When wearing jeans, it’s pretty much the same – they’ll be dark colored, neat and clean; most often paired with a dress shirt. She does from time to time wear dresses and skirts, but given the nature of her occupation, she tends to shy away from them as they’d only hamper her. Personality: Freyja is a sweet hearted yet snarky, sarcastic and somewhat tough little lady. Born back in the 9th century in a small Viking village, she had been taught that a woman is supposed to be strong and fearless, traits that suit her well in her chosen occupation. ============================================== Out of Character Information Species: Vampire – Scandinavian descent Physical Abilities: Having been raised in the time of the Vikings and being the only girl, she was raised to be strong and to fight. Over the centuries she’s managed to pick up quite a bit of martial arts skills; skills that aid her profession of being a police force detective. Being a vampire also affords her strengths and skills that allow her to be a little more “reckless” when doing her job. Of course this so called recklessness isn’t a true recklessness as she’s nothing if not always and fully in control of herself. She has increased strength, cat like reflexes and hyper senses like most any vampire, but her upbringing and chosen profession has helped her fine tune these attributes. Weaknesses: Like any vampire she is sensitive to the sunlight. However, over the centuries she’s managed to develop a certain resistance to the sun. She’s able to go outside during the day and be in the sun, but she has to be careful not to stay in direct sunlight too long. Also, she’s much weaker by day then by night – more human-like [in terms of her strength, reflexes, senses, etc]. Brief History: Freyja was born in a small Scandinavian village that had been located where the present day town of Stavanger, Norway is located. When she was around the age of 26, her village came under attack from some unknown and unseen enemies – enemies who had obviously set out to destroy everything and kill everyone. After the attack a few of the attackers had remained behind to insure there were no survivors; roaming from house to house, checking everywhere. In doing so, they found Freyja. She was half dead, clutching at her 4 month old daughter and 2 year old son’s bodies – she had tried to protect them, but sadly had failed. The leader of the force checking the homes saw this and felt something in him stir at this sight. That someone seemingly so young had tried so hard to protect her loved ones touched him deeply. In a split second decision he decided not to kill her, but rather turn her instead. And brought her with him back to his castle, located in an isolated region in northern Scotland, where he turned her and taught her everything to being a vampire. This was his way of making amends to her for destroying her home and family. -------------- Occupation: Police detective/crime scene investigator Residence: to be determined Family Affiliations: Blood Relatives: Mother – died when Freyja was around 14 years of age, from an illness Arvid – Father; died when her home village was destroyed. Ulrik and Olaf – Older brothers; both her brothers died the day their home village was destroyed. Einarr – Husband; died when their home village was destroyed. Henrik – 4 year old son; died in her arms during the attack on her village. Guđrún – infant daughter; died in her arms during the attack on her village. Other Family: Meredith Ralston – her sire. He’s also been her mate since around the year 910 AD. Possible Enemies: to be determined. -------------- Visual Reference: doll(s) will be linked to base site   Timeline: Born: sometime in 800 AD, in a small Scandinavian village that at the time was located somewhere in or near the present day town of Stavanger, Norway. Turned: she was 26 years old when she was turned, therefore sometime in 826 AD. [By this time she had been married for 4 years and had 2 children: a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter.] -------------- Family History: Her mother died to an illness when Freyja was 14 years of age. Freyja married Einarr when she was 22. By the time of the devastation of their village, they had 2 children: Henrik, their 2 year old son and Guđrún their 4 month old daughter. Her father Arvid and 2 brothers [Ulrik and Olaf] as well as their respective families all also died on the day of that attack. Meredith Ralston then walked into her life, bringing her back to Scotland with him, turned her and taught her everything she needed to know about being a vampire. Note: yes Meredith is male. The name, while primarily female today, back in (and before) the medieval/dark ages it was considered unisex. Especially amongst the Scots, Welsh and Picts. Yes, he's THAT old. |
