In Character Information- This is information everyone in the game needs to know and can make use of. ======================== Name: Zachary Phillip Stark [known as Zach] Gender: male Age: 42 Height: 6'6" | 198 cm Build: Think military general. Think bodyguard. This guy's big. With broad shoulders, a solid muscular frame, and a height that leaves him towering over your average person, he is certainly not the type of guy whose bad side you want to get on without a pretty damn good reason. Add his upright, dignified posture [except for when he's drinking] to the mix, and his younger life's brutal physical training, and you've got a pretty intimidating mix. Hair Color & Length: chestnut brown, usually combed back away from his face [think a slicked back look]. Reaches to about his lower neck. When uncombed, it's actually quite messy. Since that isn't the type of appearance he wants to give off however, Zach usually does it up nice every morning. Usually allows relatively facial hair to grow [not even enough for a five o'clock shadow] before shaving it clean. Eye Color: a very nonvibrant and unexciting shade of blue General Style of Dress: is partial to a professional appearance. Almost always dressed in crisp, well-tended suits. Will occasionally dress down a bit, but it isn't often. Distinguishing Marks: a few bodily scars here and there from his days in the police force, but nothing noticeable as long as he's fully clothed. Out of Character Information- This is information mainly meant for the mods to keep track of things. Any information posted here cannot be used by players unless it is mentioned during game play. ============================ Species: human Physical Abilities: nothing superpowerful Weaknesses: has a bit of a drinking problem ; extremely impatient ; not very fond of teenagers or young adults in general ; anger management issues [seems most apparent with his relationship with his stepson] ; will blame himself for things completely out of his control ; will place that blame on others once he cannot handle blaming himself any longer ; verbally violent [sometimes physically so] ; tense ; irrationally strict ; has not trusted anyone since the death of his wife ; overly suspicious of his stepson ; has virtually no sense of humor ; very curt and unfriendly Brief History: Zachary's father was a cop. His father's father was a cop. For as far back as both the Stark family and law enforcement occupations have existed, there was always at least one member aspiring to keep those two forces strolling hand-in-hand. Being an only child, Zach not only received the burden of tradition, but was thoroughly convinced early on that that was precisely what he wanted. From the time the guy was old enough to begin thinking about possible future careers, girls, and partiying, his father and uncles made every effort in their power to discourage him from such teenaged typicalities. Instead, they had him distracted. Law enforcement classes, trips downtown to 'see his old man at work', martial arts and basic combat/defense classes [he's not so affluent in the marital arts anymore, though] became his life. And to this day, the man has convinced himself that he was happy with it. Enter Zach's thirties. We have an middle to affluent class man, still in the police force, but not so rigorous and intense about it after the death of his father. He has an alright enough reputation. A few blots and blemished here and there, but nothing that can't be overlooked when taken into consideration his Deputy Captain position. He always was a little extreme with making sure just was served to the last ounce. But again, he was a good cop. Made good money. Didn't piss anyone off that was particularly important. Eventually though, his age was beginning to catch up with him. Spending all of his young adulthood so absorbed in his training and occupation, Zach began to realize he'd missed out on quite a bit. Namely women. While in the hospital for a minor knife wound, he met Julia, a divorced nurse with a kid. They arranged for a couple of dates, started going steady, and he eventually gave her the bended knee bit. Not much excitement during their marriage, aside from the new family moving to Verschieden shortly afterward, and eventually having another son. Zach had always been a bit strict and distant with Jono, and severely scolded and punished him several times before, but he was not a bad father, as long as Julia was around to balance out his military-esque personality. Just not a very close one. Julia died giving birth to his first son, Edwinn. Zach hadn't been present for it, and up to his death bed, he's sure he'll always be guilty for not being there. The news reached him later that night, after a particularly gruesome homicide investigation. He left the station early to get to the hospital, too shocked to believe it was true. Julia was too healthy. Too cheerful and wonderful a woman to die on a hospital bed at the end of her pregnancy without her husband by her side. He stayed only long enough to make child care aid and funeral arrangements, and then, before the grief set in, disappeared for about a week. He was found by a neighbor one night, drunk and raving to himself [meanwhile, Jono and Edwinn were being cared for by family friends]. He was urged to see a therapist, and return to his home with his children once he was beginning to see straight. He scheduled one session. It was his first and last. He finally did return to his home with Jono and Edwinn, hardly feeling better, and with one of the therapists' sentences buzzing through his mind: "Zachary, it isn't your fault. You can't blame yourself.". It took him a while to figure out what that meant to him. If he wasn't to blame, then who the hell was? Someone had to be at fault, right? About a year after the incident, Jono had accidentally returned late on the same night Zach had been fired from his job as a cop for misconduct. He was drunk. He was vengeful. And he'd found a scapegoat. ---- As the game progresses, please fill in this section as well.
