2013: The Year of the Player

Hey everyone,

We kicked off this year with the mission to make 2013 the year of the player, where you have a direct impact on the future of the game. Whether it be through polls and votes, content updates like the current world events, or interacting directly with the community through social media and events, we remain 100% committed to this and continue to make great progress on this pledge. We’re continually working on ways to get closer to the community, especially with regards to ongoing development of the current game RuneScape 3 as well as the Old School service.

Through video, live streaming and social media we continue to enhance our community-centric ethos. We’ve looking into members of the community who have a positive impact on the game or community growth, whether it be through social media, clans, fan sites, video or live streaming.

So with that we are proud to announce and welcome the latest three members of the Jagex family: Regicidal, So Wreck3d, & Silentc0re all represent the diverse, committed, passionate and dynamic nature of RuneScape. I believe their addition to the team will continue to reinforce the even stronger connections between Jagex and the RuneScape community.

So, what will they initially be doing?

Our YouTube channel management.
Our Twitch channel management.
Community video-based competitions for RS (Golden Gnomes) and OSRS.
Supporting the video-making community to promote more of your videos.
RuneScape 3 live-streaming and growing the existing RuneScape video-making community.
Old School Live Streaming and supporting the existing OSRS video making community.

And this is just getting started! We are all looking forward to doing significantly more video and social media activities going forward.

In case you haven't heard of any of these guys feel free to read their respective bios below
.

Regicidal:

Hey everyone, I'm Lee, although you may know me better as Regicidal. I've been playing RuneScape for ten years and I've been making videos about the game for eight years.

If you'd like to chat with Lee, you can post on his official RuneScape forum thread here.

So Wreck3d:

Hey guys, its Matt! I've been playing RuneScape since 2004 and go by the in-game name So Wreck3d.

If you'd like to chat with Matt, you can post on his official RuneScape forum thread here.

Silentc0re:

What’s up, guys? My name is Silentc0re and I like to play this online game called RuneScape! (Can’t help but to start off like this!) I’ve been playing RuneScape since 2007.

I’m super-excited to be able to work directly with Jagex and work directly within the community!

If you'd like to chat with Dan, you can post on his official RuneScape forum thread here.

Have fun!

Cheers,

Mark Gerhard

Well this is unexpected. Was shocked when they made the #1 botter (Jacmob) a Jagex employee. But now they promoted one of my friends whom share my interest in glitching and checking for coding flaws with every update. Never saw that coming given the fact he left Runescape for other games (same with Excl, Max Boison, Skychi, Sky the Kid, Gross Gore) - yet he actually returned.

As for the others I never met. It's a given with So Wreck3d using the similar name format of Defil3d with final 3 instead of e. But more the mention that he brought back RS2 to the 2007 status before everything turned in to pay-to-win of April 1st 2012. His petition earned far more support than most videos earn views.

I don't know much about Regicidal1 other than he makes rip offs of "Epic Rap Battles of History" which is owned by NicePeter and EpicLoydd. He's also made a few music video parodies using real songs set to Runescape-related themes. More or less the new age version of xi Elvin ix.

Good to know Jagex finally hires quality even though nothing will ever replace what was lost the day Andrew Gower left the team.

Now the whole game's changed and it ain't nothing without me.
