20-Sep-2011 - GGVA Nominees 2011 - Day Two's Nominations

It's day two of this year's Golden Gnome Video Award announcements and that means three more nominee category videos for your viewing pleasure.

Best Story Telling

A picture is worth a thousand words, apparently, which if you apply to video making means that this category should produce stories worth roughly a million words. Pretty impressive!

Our worthy finalists tell very different stories and choose completely different ways to tell them. While one uses their machinima talents and convincing vocal talents to tell a great story, the other uses tools from the other end of the technology spectrum to convey their engaging tale.

And the nominees for Best Story Telling are:

"Evil Yakuza" and "Prezleek"

Have a look at the finalist video for full versions of both stories:

Next we come to the award given to the video that made the judges spit the most soft drink at their monitors.

Funniest Video

A difficult category for the judges as our senses of humour are pretty incomparable (I actually think there might be something wrong with Crow :P). Thankfully, there were films that brightened the day of all judges, which means we were able to pick two excellent finalists.

And the nominees for Funniest Video are:

"BumBum007" and "Sundownraven"

See the two finalists lovingly spliced together in this nominees’ video:

The last award for today recognises how hard it is to get a voice that fits the part. Finding the right acting vocal to match the mood, the surroundings and the character is really tough but when you get it right, it can make all the difference.

And the nominees for the Best Voice Acting are:

"Nozferatu" and "Evil Yakuza"

Bathe in their glory by checking out their nomination video:

Huge congratulations to all nominees and the best of luck when it comes to voting at RuneFest 2011.

Tomorrow we'll announce the surprise additional category and its very clever nominees. Then on Thursday we'll reveal the three finalists of the category that the whole of the RuneScape community will be voting on - GGVA Best Video 2011.

Till tomorrow then!
