What I've been up to; Been hanging out in second life again

For about the past couple of weeks I been hanging out in Second Life (mainly cos I got more broadband than I know what to do with) & I remembered how much I missed the ol' place. Now if you're not familiar with the program, it's basically a playground where you can be & do anything you like. You're only limited by your own imagination & not some game developers concepts. The whole place has been designed & created by the participants. I'm trying to design decent clothing with a dark theme such as Victorian goth/fantasy. Hunting down good quality public domain Victorian fabric textures is the most time consuming aspect of all this cos I hate having to buy them ingame (it costs real money). Those who know me from runescape know I prefer to make my own stuff if I can, without 'buying' my skill.
In line with that concept I noticed there was much figurative art (paintings, prints etc) ingame with one notable exception. A friend of mine put me onto Michael Mararian several years ago. He does great black humour in his art which initially was based on Victorian postcards & photographs.

The 2007 catalogue is my favourite. They were initially released under the banner 'Inky Dreadfuls'.

This weekend my son came to visit & I lamented this sad fact about how the artist wasn't represented anywhere ingame, so he said, "Why don't you email him & ask him if you can use his images to display & sell ?" I thought this was the craziest idea I'd ever heard, but the worst the guy could say was 'no' right? So I went ahead & emailed him & I can't believe it, he said yes & I don't have to pay him any royalties !! He said 'It sounds like fun' & wants to come ingame sometime to see how they're displayed. OMG !! I'm so excited !! This guy is a celebrated artist & I have sole copyright to his art in Second Life. WTG me !!

Please go to his site & check out his art. It's not for everyone, but I reckon you guys are dark enough to get a real giggle out of some of his images. Needless to say my time on rs will be next to nothing for the next few weeks while I collate images & work on virtual picture frames for the art. So if anyone wants to photoshop me some frames I won't knock them back. Need to be 256x256 or 1024x256. You know anything divisible x 64 I guess. I'll hopefully be able to post some images on here as I go & keep you updated.
