Just seen the trailer and I can honestly say what were they thinking? They're about to ruin a classic that still is the BEST first-person shooter multi-player game since Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem.

If you recall the original Goldeneye 007 was released for Nintendo 64. It MADE the system before other games begun to lead the first-person shooters on the newly released platform back in 1998 -- which included Perfect Dark, Doom 64, Duke Nukem 64, Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, and Hexen 64 and other great games that made perfect use of the new analog stick controller + direction pad combination for movement and menu options.

We all know how much of a flop Red Steel and Red Steel 2 have proven with how off the controls are for aim/movement using the Wii remove for a first-person shooter during multi-player mode. Not only is it a pain to get the Wii remove to pick up movement without spinning around in circles or missing your target because the aim system isn't too keen.

Now imagine the frustration players will endue attempting to play the classic shooter with the new infrared system of the Wii remote. Or the fact that batteries never last forever and won't "die another day" -- usually they die after a couple hours of game time with how us addict use them non-stop.

Only time shall tell how well this game holds up to the original or if it will even reach projected sales by the game producers.

Shown in the video above it was the first game to think of allowing players to carry two guns at once to use. This was only later perfected by Halo with the ability to use two guns at time and to mix-and-match these smaller guns at your choosing. We've yet to see a game allow you to use ANY two guns at the same time.. at least it is getting more toward being open to the user on how they best use weapons to complete each mission of a game.

The rating on the original was nearly a 10 by every website. 9.8 at GameSpot. 9.4 at IGN.

Sniffing around Google I uncovered a story they planned to release GoldenEye 007 with some added backgrounds to semi-improve upon this classic game. But the XBox360 Arcade release was canceled. Perhaps due to wanting to actually profit from a re-release with completely redone graphics in 2011 on Wii.

Apparently Rare made the first Goldeneye 007. This one is borrowed title since Activision took over and appears to be a flop from the start. Recall what Activision did to kill the title Call of Duty, when they had a company split from Infinity Ward and Triarch? There was a power struggle between the producers and designers of the game. Rather than agreeing upon making the game better for the players based on what the players wanted to see (I personally want they to bring back Nazi Zombies or at least Russian Zombies as an online/offline multi-player mode), they went based on what the people paying money to have the game designed wanted and look where it got us. They came out with Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 which was discriminatory against PC users and gave all public servers to both PS3 and XB360. Many PC users boycotted Activision for not giving lag-free servers dedicated to the online players and as a result they lost sales in 1/3 of the franchise.

Not completely sure if things were patched up between Triarch and Infinity Ward, but they seem to held the titles Call of Duty AND Modern Warfare together under one game title for one more go. Doubtful we shall see a Call of Duty 7: Modern Warfare 3 anytime soon -- but rather a divided game title release as just Call of Duty "Black Ops".

But seeing Activision with ownership over Goldeneye 007 makes me fear for yet another flop.

Now the whole game's changed and it ain't nothing without me.
