So... My question is why can banned members message other people? I got this message from Infinde6 and I'm making it public for giggles.
I know I shouldn't make these things public really because it has to do with rules/powers (the power for banned members to message) but I just couldn't help it. |

Myke: If he abuses the inbox feature, he obviously doesn't have use of the ban appeals folder either. Set him as "Banned (2nd)" or I shall. He has also been inboxing me, and I have been responding to his questions so he is aware of why he was banned, after being suspended twice in one month -- due to his forum spam and useless replies/topics. A few members of NGoR have not yet posted ban appeal, and do not abuse the power of inbox and posting a ban appeal once every 30 days. This is why we have "Banned (1st)" forum group. It use to just be called "suspended" and abusing the inboz or ban appeal folder would get a user changed to "banned". But they are one in the same, with either limited permissions or none. Also it helps me to keep contact with members of NGoR whom were banned, but wish to continue helping with offense reports at RScc. Without the inbox, there are no means through Runescape or JaGeX forum for screenshots transfers. |

I see. So Banned (1st) is basically the safe Banned group. They're allowed to communicate with people. Whereas Banned (2nd) completely excommunicates them from people on the forums? Hmm. I like that. Correct me if I'm wrong though. |

It also grants permission to post under "Ban Appeals" section, that only the Forum Admin and Banned (1st) can view. Once a user has been set as Banned (2nd), s/he can not use any feature, may not inbox others, can not view "Ban Appeals" section. Basically they can still read the forum as a Guest, but they have even less access if they actually sign in to a Banned (2nd) username. |

Lol aside from the message I couldn't stop laughing at his failed attempt to insult you. Also the fact that a forum and being banned from it ruined his life? "i'm pissin off at you" that gave me good laugh to. Honestly, the age you'd have to be to do something like that? oh well sounds all sorted now ^.^ |

Forum footer explains them best. "Suspended" and "Banned". Yet in the view of Admin CP, the forum ranks are labeled "Banned (Temp)" and "Banned (Perm)". Temp ban can still use inbox, and post ban appeals. Perm ban can do neither. In fact, a user is better off viewing the forum as guest, rather than signing in as either of the two, since both block out most or all of the forum from view. |
