3 & 3 Would indeed work best i agree also

The defect of equality is that we only desire it with our superiors

Guild Wars 2 = Inactive
World Of Warcraft = Inactive
Runescape = Inactive
ArcheAge = Inactive
Tera = Inactive

Zg7 - Erik can be "Creator" maybe. He'd have the highest honor of them all, but we can have someone else as Forum Leader & CC Leader. They'd be the best for that category, yet Erik would still carry the most power.

To those that agree with 3 & 3, thank you.

I'd just like to cast my vote with the 3-3 lot, we simply don't have enough active members to need five.

Myke: Don't take this the wrong way. Not sure if I am not fully comprehending your suggestion of a "Forum Leader". Let me explain the reason we abolished that forum rank.

You can read a piece of the 2008 history as posted here: http://z3.invisionfree.com/NGoR/index.php?...topic=9724&st=0

We left Holy in charge of the forum for a couple years, while I was busy at college. He then left Liam| in charge while he took a leave of absence. Due to their hunger for power (leaving out all the hype of how a new website was used to hack members of NGoR), neither person wished to resign the temporary power as "Forum Leader" when I announced I quit college and would devote my full time and life to the community and the game.

They proposed a "solution" which exiled I from the equation, and left them as the new "owners of NGoR". I posted my resignation as being part of a group that promotes ranks based on friends, rather than upon democracy. The majority returned to this forum as I have, while the new "NGoR" website was closed a few weeks after.

We still are unaware what happened to Holy and Akito1014. Liam| returned here to post for unban, and was denied. The remainder of NGoR have returned here at one time or another, and many are still active to this very day.

I am still hesitant to resorting to depending on others to protect the security of NGoR from potential hackers and threats. I hope you can understand why I hold strong to this view. In the past, such trust led to downfall from within. We've earned the trust once more in people registering to understand NGoR is not a hot spot for hacker. And I've got plenty of spare time at the moment to focus toward forum and RScc.

3 and 3 staff I agree with. I haven't heard any objections or reason not to make this change.

I will edit the staff list at "Contact Us" to set the new limit of Forum Admins and Forum Mods to "3". When members of those sections become inactive, they shall not be replaced. And the smaller limit of staff shall take hold from there.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. It helps for us to better the group for everyone.

Myke: I was hurt when I first read this topic. I took the time to analyze it further, uncovering flaws in what's mentioned. A few things I was incorrect about, I've also made mention in the following paragraphs.

Quote:

The rules state that if a forum admin/mod doesn’t log onto the forums in seven days, they will be demoted unless they post an away topic. Alex has been inactive for 22 days. Yeah, he has an away topic… posted in JULY.

His topic is no longer visible. A sure sign he has posted "away" beyond the 30-day limit.

Time flies when you're having fun. I've forgot how long indeed since Zlex321 made a response or topic.

I don’t believe you should be the Forum Leader if you’re all about RScc these days

Pray tell, whom holds the MOST responses of any forum member, staff or non, in the last 50 active discussions here at NGoR?

http://z3.invisionfree.com/NGoR/index.php?act=site

Earned both 15000 and 16000 post count in 2009, aimed for 17000 for the first few months in 2010. I've given my fair share to the forum, and I keep on giving. Not a single posted response I've made that was anything less than a novel. Thus far, I doubt any of such were "spam" origin.

We should also have only three forum admins and three forum mods.

That was asked of public, and while some feedback was mixed amongst staff and non, it seems everyone (or at least everyone that replied) agree with the idea.

Any further change to staff and regarding higher-level matters shall be consulted with staff only, and not questioned in the public realm or forum areas.

I propose this… we have one Forum Leader, and one CC Leader.

Forum Leader mentioned on NGoR is like saying King Cut at RScc. Some things are associated to offensive ranks in the past. And need not be mentioned, due to invoking fear or hate in fellow members.

We could discuss this further at inbox. I already sent you a list of my questions regarding this matter. Respond when appropriate, and perhaps we can take the matter to a staff-only area to discuss or vote on.

I'm going to take a shower now. Don't demote me while I'm gone. ;) I'm still active. :rofl:

Dragon002: http://z3.invisionfree.com/NGoR/index.php?showtopic=10646

I saw you posted active. It's all good.

I just think Myke wishes to see those in position of staff being a bit more post-happy on the forum, rather than only reading them without response.

Similar to a suggestion by Liam| to delete any forum member that fails to post every 30 days, it would seem like a waste, given the fact posting does not dictate is a member is reading the forums. It should be based on last sign in date -- if anything.

Likewise, the staff can still ban, still suspend, and still manage forum topics to close spam and issue punishment while keeping contact through the inbox, regardless of posting or not.

Posting is merely a privilege we earn. Those whom break rules lose that ability. And staff that fail to take part in weekly (7-day) votes, or make an effort to show they make the time to at least post around the forum one per week (hopefully far more, but people DO have lives to live), result in demotion.

Myke is fair in his views. This discussion has opened our eyes to the facts that lay before us. Without active staff, active members, we are nothing more than another website/forum.

While RScc prospers throughout the years, due to the easily accessible nature of being part of Runescape... we need to remember the forum has similar necessities, and part of that is active members and staff.

Hmm, it's an interesting proposal. If Erik is the overall leader and then you have a CC leader and Forum leader....hmm yes that might be a nice idea.

Honestly, perhaps its worth trying out, say a 3month trial? If it works you can introduce it permanently. The thing to remember of course Erik is that you'd still have the most power, if either CC leader or Forum leader played up or underperformed you can demote them, rather than what transpired with Holy and Liam where you had no power over them.

Yes, true. Well the main problem back in the start of 2009 is the new forum and website. After they knew I didn't own the site nor forum, they took the liberty of promoting how they saw fit, and disregarded the voting system of staff deciding on new staff members as a joined decision. They also felt my time with NGoR was obsolete, and since I owned neither their website nor forum, I had no jurisdiction over if I stay or go, and so I decided since it was not my website to begin with, I posted resignation from N9F and returned here to N3F.

I see it in better light from your wording. It wasn't a proposal that I step down and give the forum to someone else. More along the idea of setting someone in charge of ensuring the forum staff keep active, or they are demoted and if need be some new staff be voted in, according to the system of fairness we currently have in place.

I'm not sure how this idea would affect RScc, since one person can control chat, and no other person is granted permission to accessing the ban/ignore list of that account on Runescape.

(To those that think I’m ignoring the Forum/CC Leader part that Erik mentioned, I’m not. That’s going to be furthered discussed in an Inbox message with him.)

First I’ll talk about the 3 & 3 staff list. Here’s a question: what’ll happen if there aren’t enough people inactive for a 3 & 3 staff? What if there are… 5 active admins and 3 active mods? What should be done then? How would we decide who gets demoted / possibly replaced?

Now Erik, I meant no harm when I posted this. And I do feel as though I went over the boundaries with it, but you know me; I speak my mind and can be controversial. For hurting your feelings / insulting you, I truly am sorry.

As for saying that you seem to be all about RScc… once again, I am sorry. I know it’s not true, but you cannot stop people from feeling that way. I am not the only one that feels this way, yet I won’t mention names. If they want to say they feel it, they can, however I’ll gladly take the fall for anyone in the community that feels you’re more about RScc. Just know this: topics about RuneScape on the forums can help contribute to people feeling that you’re all about RScc/RuneScape. Ignoring your pinned topics, your last 20 topics would be… 5 topics about NGoR, 13 topics about RScc/RuneScape, and 2 topics that are miscellaneous. I know we’re the National Guard of RUNESCAPE, but seeing the creator post more topics that aren’t just about RuneScape would make this place more interesting to be honest.
