I believe the forums need to be changed around, and I’m not talking about appearance. I’m talking about the staff. Erik (Dominion/Kire667) has been neglecting the forums. Sorry Erik, but it’s the truth. I’m not the only one to feel that way either. Even look at what YOU told me:

Now, it may not seem like much, but it can really add up. Alex321 is a forum mod. I’m asking everyone: why is that? Or better yet, why is he STILL a forum mod? The rules state that if a forum admin/mod doesn’t log onto the forums in seven days, they will be demoted unless they post an away topic. Alex has been inactive for 22 days. Yeah, he has an away topic… posted in JULY. It was about him getting surgery, and that it was rescheduled for August. I’m sure he has healed since then, considering the last time he logged on was in November. Now, Alex if you read this… I mean no disrespect to you. But rules are rules, and you need to be demoted. I informed Erik of this… and nothing was done. Shocking. We have an inactive staff member.

Then there are some other forum staff members that don’t do much besides log in and post in achievement topics. Wow that’s really helpful towards the forums. (That was sarcastic.)

I propose this… we have one Forum Leader, and one CC Leader. Truthfully Erik, I know you started the National Guard of RuneScape and everything, but I don’t believe you should be the Forum Leader if you’re all about RScc these days. Yeah, you’re changing the site around because 2010 is coming up, but that seems to be it. You’d be better off as the CC Leader.

We should also have only three forum admins and three forum mods. Clearly, we can lose some if there are people that don’t do anything.

I demoted Alex but he was reinstated by someone so i do agree there does need to be some sort of re-adjustment to some degree

Myke: The forum could be reworked. My friend already had an idea of making our own forum, and removing the Google ads. That way the forum could be set up based on how we want it, and any ads we put there would be directly funding the forum and website, not some host like InvisionFree.

I can speak with my friend if that is something we are willing to consider as an option. Though I was unsure if members here would be prepared for such a change, and also my fear for forum security, as shown with the last change, of how it was manipulated by the host of that forum, and somehow he managed to hack 30+ users before we returned back to this forum.

I also informed you that if members of staff on Forum or Chat prove to be inactive, they shall be replaced.

Working 6 days per week doesn't make this job any easier, as I don't get any funds for being here. But perhaps with the said idea above, a forum funded by our ads, rather than a forum host getting paid from all of our time and posting, perhaps it would encourage me to spend less time at work and more time on forums.

I shall issue a vote in the section Forum Staff, and await the 7-day limit for feedback from fellow members of NGoR to make a post. Those failing to inbox me directly, or post a response on the topic, shall be demoted from NGoR staff and replaced with new Forum Admins and Forum Mods.

Thanks for your concern in this matter. And your motion for having something done about it.

Bobbydown01: When you demoted Alex321, I don't remember the notice sent my way.

I was inboxed by RAy20ray08 in regards to this, and he informed me there are only 4 Forum Mods, and yet the staff list shows 5 names, so I set him back as the list shows.

I wasn't aware he was inactive, as he was designing the new website for NGoR, and after that I haven't heard much from him.

I'll set the change back, and issue a vote for a new Forum Mod to be voted in.

I told you he was inactive.

Regardless, what about the other things I've proposed? 5 & 5 seems a bit much, because like I said, barely anyone does anything on the forums except post a picture of them leveling up.

3 & 3 would be better.

When we had over 1000 members, our staff was 10 and 10 on here.

After Liam| deleted 750+ members whom didn't post in past 30-day span, we were below 300 members, and as such we voted that we only needed 5 and 5 to run that many users.

So you are thinking we would be able to maintain users such as Infinde6 with a mere 3 and 3 on?

Perhaps so. And as such, just let me know and we will down size following the active check, and until we drop to 3 Admin 3 Mod on forum, we shall demote without replacing such ranks of staff, if and when they prove to be "inactive" for a 7-day span.

We would require feedback from those active members of Forum Admin and Forum Mod ranks if they agree with the change, before taking affect.

At any rate, I got work in the morning, and I'm heading to bed for 3 hours of sleep. I'll be back tomorrow to discuss this further. And thanks for bringing this to my attention, though otherwise wasn't fully taken as serious as it should have been.

**As for RScc, the generals maintain that, all I have to do is issue bans and set ranks, which again, is all based on forum activity such as inbox image reports and forum requests for ranking. I've more than proven my time devoted on forum when I spent 24 hours redesigning simple backgrounds, updating the banner, editing buttons, and attempting to make the forum easier on the eyes. ;)

Considering the only ones really doing anything about Infinde6's spam are myself, you, Bobby, Golem, and Campie... yes, I believe we can keep the members in check with a 3 & 3 staff.

Thing is, not everyone is like Infinde6... they're smart and they don't spam. I don't know if there are reports anymore and they're filed... but if they were, then Infinde6 should be suspended for a month already I believe. But that is not the point.

The forums are mostly about RuneScape and Achievement topics. Which aren't bad, but there is the occasional spammer (Infinde6) and people that can start fights with one another. Those need to be moderated and watched over. We can do that with a 3 & 3 staff.

Keep Erik as the Forum leader and have someone just as experienced in the CC as the CC leader. Let the other person just handle all CC problems and give Erik a report at the end of the month or something.

Or.. Forum Guardian and Forum leader could be 2 different things? Erik could handle both, Forum leader could handle the forum and CC leader could handle the CC?
