The change has been made. No vote necessary, because I entirely approve of it, and already took the time to open 3 tabs at once in order to make the task a lot easier of copy and paste HTML from Admin CP to Board Wrappers here on NGoR. Sakkath: Thanks for the suggestion. Can you do me a favor in return? The website is no longer hosted through NameCheap.com or Geocities.com, and as such, I would like it if you didn't have my personal details up for public access from what ever program it is people use that they type in the URL NationalGuardOfRunescape.com, and it comes out with my first name, last name, street address, fax number, phone number, zip code, city, and state. I altered all of my details from YouTube and MySpace, after the mishap with former user Emerald709, and we haven't had a problem until the return of the whole "I can hack your group, I got all of your RS account information from your website address" from recent ban against RS clan chat user Puffins_Dad (former ban as Slayer1862 and Pug 204 Gte, and also known as Liam (the second user by that real life name.. which is giving a bad reputation for all future members at NGoR whom claim to be that name in reality). So yeah, if you get the time, edit your server with the website, so that data isn't up for public knowledge to any and all whom type in our web address. |

Dom, I will certainly take care of that. Check your PM for my response. Aside from that, you should know how I feel about unnecessarily closing topics. I think the users should still be able to give their input on this idea and give feedback. I also believe they should be able to comment on a significant change that will become NGoR history. I understand why you put the z3.invisionfree.com link, for reliability, but I would have thought the real domain would have looked better. It's completely understandable and I'm not trying to suggest you change it. I'm glad I actually did something for us again, it's been a long time since all of my chat work. This summer I should have a lot of time and I can rework the entire site and give the chat page a really nice modern web 2.0 feel. Any users interested in helping develop the website, positions are open for recruit. I will grant those interested "Site Mod" status, since it has not been in use for quite some time. All work will go through me, since I am a Site admin and only we can access the contents directly. Requirements would be extensible HTML knowledge, and professional. I can't have people using <font> tags. You must know CSS and know how to use HTML strictly, such that it adheres to the HTML 4.01 doctype strictly and passes validation. JavaScript is a bonus and always welcome, any good 2.0 site has cool AJAX featuers. I use a lot of PHP, especially for dynamic sites that way Erik can use a CP to add information to the news section, organize links possibly, etc, rather than editing the source code by hand. If you believe a CMS would benefit us, you will have to provide a compelling argument since I do not like the idea of CMSs. All feedback is welcome, and I hope to find out NGoR has some talented web developers! Unfortunately because this is a non-profit organization, we cannot pay for your work (maybe some professionally done images, but probably not much more than that). You will get out of it nice experience, especially for helping develop a very active and popular website. You will be respected in this community forever and most likely become an Honored Member because time spent to help us become a better place for all is never forgotten. Such is the reason I have somewhat of a grandfather clause and am always able to retain my administrator positions even though I'm not the most active user. Also, I will do a real lot for help in the chat division. We have enough users now where some are looking for ways to help our community. I'm looking for people who are interested in a position on the IRC channel. I need people to be there to welcome users who come on IRC for their first time. Many users have come on, but because noone was there to talk with them, they end up leaving and never returning. If there is someone to talk with them and they enjoy themselves, they will stay, and this chain will continue exponentially because every newcomer will have more regulars to talk to! I am in desperate need for help and recruiting you guys is the only way I can help rebuild the once-strong IRC channel. If you ask any old-school members, they can inform you about how much fun the IRC was and how much of a useful resource it was to the community. And no, I'm not just trying to get more users for my network, the net's main channel is popular enough and I'm not looking to expand. We have our own little group and it's fun. If anyone is interested in meeting the AtlantisIRC people, all of my very good friends, you may join us at #Lobby where there is always people to talk to. |

Sakkath: It's nothing personal, I like everything you've done by hosting our website, IRC, and helping with the InvisionFree forum. Just with the times that the main website is down, it also downtimes all links on forum which route through the redirect of forums.nationalguardofrunescape.com. As such, I am working to convert ALL forum links and references over to the z3.invisionfree.com/ngor, simply to ensure that even though forums.nationalguardofrunescape.com may be downtime, that doesn't ruin the way people navigate easily and quickly around the forum itself. The redirects I use more or less as the easy of entry to our website, from either www.nationalguardofrunescape.com or forums.nationalguardofrunescape.com, and from there on out, using the default URL for all links and topics. It just makes life easier during rough times. I also have both forums.nationalguardofrunescape.com and z3.invisionfree.com/ngor listed for YouTube and MySpace, so all potential daily recruits and visitors or guests can still access the website or forum, should NameCheap.com give us anymore gruff in regards to back payments or no payments, at that. Just ruling out all potential of lost recruits, since I work my *** off daily for RuneScape, and I hope the forum and website works just as hard, so we don't miss daily new members and traffic we tend to get, naturally or evoked. ;-) DragonBro002: You were the first to discover the newly added User Group, "Outlawed". So I felt it was only right to now include the new User Group in the forum footer links. I have edited the users banned yet still able to post 1 Ban Appeal under renamed User Group of "Suspended". I have altered the users whom were denied their Ban Appeal under that new User Group, now renamed as "Banned". I hope these new terms shall become second nature, as time progresses. And it is explain here and now, for all current and future members at NGoR. "Banned" shall be used for those whom already requested a Ban Appeal, but it was denied. Or for those whom spam the Ban Appeal forum area, and abuse the right to such function. |

All right, cool. I will use those terms from here on out. What do you think about my help requests? |

Okay so, another sort of suggestion. Seeing as some of us have several staff positions, is there any sort of way to inherit a user group from another or some way to denote that a particular user is C/F/S admin per se? Right now I'm only on the list when you click Forum Maintenance, which by the way is incredibly hard to read on the stone background, but I'm also a chat admin, forum admin, and site admin. While I'm not necessarily complaining about my position, it should be known that I host the entirety of NGoR (at least I would like it to be known, that way I can have the respect I deserve despite the fact I cannot be as active as others due to a busy real life). |
