A Reminder about Illegal Ads; Don't always trust ads

Recently I spotted an add on Ngor that didn't strike me as right so I cautiously clicked and read and was shocked to see that it was for a cheat site promising free bots for RS but was really geared to get you to give them your password and RS ID. I reported the add to the staff at Ngor and they took as much action as they could and explained to me that the adds on this site are randomly generated from google and that they have no control over them. So I just wanted to take a minute to remind all that just because an add is on Ngor or any other site you trust doesn't mean its safe and you should never give you password out no matter what they want to give you

I fully give my support for the removal of these ads, if not for the fact they are shown by Google to pay for our forum, which is hosted by InvisionFree with a gracious price of $0.

Yet, InvisionFree gets us in the fact, if I wish to pay $0.99 per 100 ads not shown, I will be would have paid a grand total of $0.99 per 1000000 page views, as shown by the BraveNet free counter (which as of the past 2 days, has changed, and they have yet to give me a new link to use).

I have just calculated the grand total, and if we wish to begin funding such as SwiftKit uses, led by Strider3282 (even though he long quit the game of RuneScape), asking for donations, while he still houses ads for such matters of other games not a part of RuneScape, and for a few ads that I have to report to him to have removed from his RS client..

We are seeking $990 000 in donations, since this forum began on December 4th 2003, just to never have a single ad shown in OUR forum.

I can live with a few random ads, generated based on the context of the post being viewed, so long as the forum members understand my position of no control, other than informing the world, keep on reporting illegal ads to Google, for they fund InvisionFree, not us. :)

Thank you all, and I leave you with the words I've made along with the first bad advertisement ever viewed, back in 2004.

Holy: Love the sarcasm. Keep up the spirit. :)

basool83876: Another thanks for posting this so the world is aware. Only trust what you know, or the world shall forever live in fear, much as JaGeX does ever since 2005, marking all websites as illegal, simply because they don't have the know how to discern the good from the evil, and stereotype the few as the whole.

But a few of us, the few who rise above false fears imposed by JaGeX, know the difference between right and wrong. And we use our God-given choice to make the right choices in each and every day that we live and breathe.

Thanks for not being another assumptionist. And having the knowledge and rationality to think outside the box of hyped-propaganda. Our type is rare, indeed.

And another thanks, yet again, for making this sort of thing public, so more people don't fall victim to illegal Google ads.
