Barbarian Assault
A team-based strategy game for high levels.

Risk of Item Loss: None
Multi-Combat Game: Yes

Just outside of the Barbarian Agility Outpost, is a small structure, which houses a warzone in its basement. This mini-game is accessible free of charge, to any whom seek free experience points.

Up to 5 players per game, so it isn't hard to do with a few people showing up for any events hosted there. And the best feature, no wait time at all!

Getting Started
Upon entering the ladder of Barbarian Assault, you will see 10 numbered rooms, each room representative of a wave. Waves are more or less stages as you progress with each success, onto the next numbered room.

To begin, walk to the far back, and enter room 1. From here, you will grab the recruitment scroll from the table (team leader), and then use it on 4 other players, until you have a team of 5 players (including yourself).

Posted ImageEach player will choose a role to perform (attacker, defender, collector, healer). And the leader will have the option to accept or deny such roles.

Posted ImageOnce the team is ready (all roles accepted for the 5 team members), enter the ladder to proceed into the wave 1 arena.

(The above shall be performed every wave. If you wish to change your role, simply exit the room, and re-enter it.)

The In-Game Display

Monsters: The current wave/round (1-10).
Ear (Latest Command Heard): Your current task you are assigned to do. This is what you heard from your teammates.
Mouth (Your Command): Right-click your horn, and click the option shown beside this, to give proper commands to your teammates.
Horn (Who Hears You): This shows which member of the team you are giving the information/command to. (Attacker informs collector, collector informs attacker, defender informs healer, healer informs defender.)

During gameplay, watch for command updates from your fellow teammates. This is vital in your success through each wave of monsters. And giving proper information to your team is also esential for them to successfully recieve honour points for the most successful actions, and the least failures.

When the Penance changed defense style (shown beside the mouth icon), right-click the horn from your inventory, and click the listed weakness of the Penance. Get it right, or lose honour points for giving improper commands to your teammates.

Wave 10: The Final Battle
Once the first 9 waves have been successfully completed, you will move on to the final battle with the Penance Queen. But don't worry, these simple steps will help you learn the way to survival, even before entering the battlefield and experiencing her firsthand.

  • Clear the room of all Penance presence, in order to be allowed to attack the Penance Queen.
  • Gather the yellow eggs which is laid by the Penance Queen.
  • Pass this egg throughout the team, each member with a different task to perform, in order to make the omega egg. (This is the only type of egg which shall harm the Penance Queen.)
    - Attacker: Take the poisoned yellow egg to any spiked mushroom. Attach spikes. Give the spiked poisoned yellow egg to the defender.
    - Defender: Take the spiked poisoned yellow egg to the nearby lava (red liquid), to make the omega egg. Give the omega egg to the collector.
    - Collector: Collect the yellow egg from the Penance Queen. Give it to the healer. Gather the omega egg from the defender, load it into the egg launcher, and fire it at the Penance Queen.
    - Healer: Take the yellow egg to the poison pool (green liquid), and dip the egg in. Give the poisoned yellow egg to the attacker.
  • Fire these omega eggs from the egg launcher, until the Penance Queen has been defeated.Posted Image

Rewards

After each wave, you shall be shown a score sheet, in which both the team success and individual success are shown. Based on the individual task performed, you will be rewarded honour points (JaGeX never was very good at spelling honor, market, and a few other things). You can then talk to Commander Connad (in the main hall), to turn in these honour points for level-ups in a selected role.

There are special rewards for killing the Penance Queen, but they must be claimed after each time she is slain (wave 10 completed).

You can only store a maximum of 500 honour points in each role (attacker, defender, collector, healer). So spend them before the maximum limit is reached, in order to ensure you don't lose any.

Extra Features

After completion of wave 10, you will have the ability to spend honour points on special Barbarian Assault armors, as well have the ability to use a feature known only as "gambling" your points.
