Should Staff have donation rating?; Or should we focus on helping others?

I was considering all of the listed moderator groups we had to set every time we add a new section to the forums, being 6 per user group, JUST because every group has normal, and donation rating 1-5, for it.

So, in a community-wide vote, I wanted to see if perhaps we could limit the NG Staff to the basics, and retaining an actual posted list, of who gave what. That way everyone can see it on a listing.

But furthermore, I was hoping to bring about more change, in something that would benefit the users, and not be so much geared toward the NG Staff this time. And my idea is this.

After a user reaches a certain combination of listed donation value (in gp), as well as have a required number of game aid listed (explained later in this post), then that user shall be moved up in status. The icon for donation status would be replaced, by actual ranking (still with numbers, in a sort).. which is based not on how much one person gives to keep the game holidays alive, but also as to how many players they can help along the way.

The idea is simple (here come sthe explination). When a user helps a fellow community member, either with learning a skill, completing a quest, or even helping with a problem that involves social interaction or supporting fairness in rules (rs the game, of course).. the user being helped shall make a new post in the Game Aid section. And then the person who did the helping, shall post a reply to the thread, claiming that s/he actually did the act of kindness.

In this, the helper gains +1 to his/her total "Ggme Aid."

With this new format, we hope to better the community, as well as in-game morale and standards. For lately, there is a growing problem on a daily basis, where people only care for one's own, and reject assisting a fellow user (be them recruited already, or a possible future addition to the NG). But we, as a gaming family, need to help one another, and make this a better place to hang at.

And remember, it may be the hardest thing to simply remind others of the game rules. And to report once, then ignore list, if the user wishes to persure a path of disobedience. For if we respond to such users, it only prolongs the time until they move along, and have time to reflect on their lack of friendships, and hopefully mature from such experiences. (And, for our sake, let's hope that is sooner than later.)

I think a combo. Because like take people like Hamtaro or Akito. They have donated over 10M to ngor. And have worked hard to achieve that Dx5 status. And if we remove how fair is it to them? I love the Idea of Game_Aid points. I think it would be something that we could install on the forums called Reputation points. Like everytime someone helps you, you could post they helped you and manualy adjust there rep. If this was to be abused we could suspend the user(s). I believe they do this in WNx, but not post about giving rep.

I say those members that do have the Dx5 or their donation rank, if they like could be added to their little Rank Title under their avatar. I think as far as Staff goes, it's not really essential. Just change to like Donator, High Donator, or something to that affect ( That would be under Rank Title, not the group).
And a list as above mention by you, Erik. It will just cut back on having so many groups.

As for aiding members, whether it be in game, or out of game, it shouldn't be individually recognized, it is part of the NGoR Staff mission I would say. All NGoR Staff should be helping whenever possible, it is what is expected.

I've made donations and dropped my own items at parties and I did not get credit for them, nor do I ask for it. But I think it's a great idea, Erik. And I like your vision.

PS: I dontated stuff this week, remember? And I randomly give to the people of Catherby... I don't do it for credit, I do it out of kindness and for love of the game.

Under the current system I like how it shows who actually helps around here cause if you only see like x 1 or nothing at all it shows they dont do much to help the DP even if we did change it I would continue to drop my own stuff and donate what I can
