Guide to Starting a Level 3 Skiller By: Lvl 3 Neeb Updates: I0__0I, NGoR46 Note: This is a guide to skill (anti-combat) pures. Some aspects of this guide are available exclusively to membership players. Table of Contents: 1.0 - Picking a name 1.1 - First few levels 1.2 - Pets & Summoning 1.3 - Major Training Spots and Equipment 1.4 - Helpful Quests 1.5 - Cool Outfits 1.6 - Avoiding Trouble 1.7 - Questions and Answers 1.8 - Tips and Tricks 1.9 - Credits 1.0 Picking a Name for your Skiller: To start off your skiller, you will have to pick a name. Names are important because you're going to have to live with that name as long as you're using your skiller. I Personally recommend not using numbers after your name, this makes it hard for people to remember you. Also try making a creative one, not something like teh skiller or teh ownage. Try to come up with a name you like and is original. Remember, all that matters is if you like it. 1.1 Gaining your First Few Levels: Knife: Just south of Lumbridge Castle, in the Lumbridge Swamp. Bronze Woodcut Axe: On the floor, 2nd floor of Falador furnace house. Bronze Pickaxe: In house at Barbarian Village center. After collecting items from the various locations, you should think about which skill you want to train first. I recommend picking some which you have the tools for (for example woodcutting). There are a few skills that are located near lumbridge: Woodcutting: A woodcutting axe - Trees above pig pen in Draynor (recommended if you want to bank logs) - Forest west of Lumbridge general store (recommended for selling logs to the shop) Fishing: Small fishing net - Shrimp spots south of Draynor bank (watch out for the dark wizards!) Crafting: Needle/thread and some cow hides - Al kharid and Cow farm (there are usually people killing cows near Al Kharid gate, pick up the hides from here and you can get them tanned and crafted in Al Kharid) Mining: A pickaxe - South east/South west of varrock (start of with tin/copper and work your way up to iron) - Rimmington Mine south of falador After you've trained these skills to a decent level, you are ready to move on to the second set of skills. Recommended Stats before moving to second set of skills: 30 Woodcutting 20 Fishing 20 Crafting 15 Mining Second Set of Skills: Firemaking: Tinderbox - You can easily get your firemaking skill up by using the logs you cut down from training Woodcutting. Cooking: Range/fire - Cooking is also easy to train with the shrimp/herring/sardine you've caught from training Fishing. Smithing: Hammer/bars - Using the tin and copper retrieved from training Mining, you can train your Smithing. Runecrafting: Talisman/tiara - You can also mine rune essence to get this skill up (rune mysteries quest required) After you've trained all of these, you can go back to training the First set of skills. EXCEPT, this time you can train at the major training spots. 1.2 Pets & Summoning: There are pets you can own and still be a pure anti-combat fame of game. The following pets require no summoning, so you won't ruin your purity. ** - Cat (Kitten/Cat/Overgrown/Wiley/Lazy) - Fish ** If you do the required quest to begin summoning, you will earn summoning level 4, and combat level 4, thus ruining your fame as a pure anti-combat player. 1.4 Training at the Major Training Spots: Now that you have decent skill levels, you can move on to certain training areas: Woodcutting: A woodcutting axe ![]() - Willows, South of Draynor Bank (again make sure to watch out for dark wizards) - Willows, West of Draynor Bank, other side of the Draynor/Port Sarim wall (less of a crowd here, if you like to have some privacy) - Willows, Near Rimmington General Store (sell the willows to the general store for a little profit) Fishing: Fly fishing rod/feathers ![]() - Fly Fishing, the river east of Barbarian Village (you can bank at Edgeville bank) - Fly Fishing, the river near goblin house in Lumbridge (no bank available, you can sell fish to general store) Crafting: Needle/thread OR and Amulet mould - The crafting training area is still Al Kharid, except you can go to mine silver to the North (watch out for scorpions) Mining: A pickaxe ![]() - Iron and Silver, South west/South of Varrock east mining camps - Iron Dwarven Mines (the farther into the cave, the more powerful the enemies get) After this you may use the resources you retrieved to train your second set of skills. 1.3 List of Helpful Quests: 1. Cooks Assistant (300 cooking exp) 2. Doric's Quest (1,300 mining exp) 3. Goblin Diplomacy (200 crafting exp) 4. The Knight's Sword (12,725 smithing exp) --- WARNING: you have to run past hobgoblins, ice warriors and ice giants. 5. Rune Mysteries (ability to runecraft) 6. Sheep Shearer (150 crafting exp) Make sure you do not do quests that give combat stat rewards: imp catcher, witch's potion, vampire slayer etc... 1.5 Cool Looking Outfits: For a level 3, you are limited to what you can wear. I suggest using random event clothing, its stylish and FREE (woot ). However, if you want to look classy and rich, you could consider wizard robes (t) and (g). Also theres always the Full iron look (but its sorta dull ). Light Boots: It IS possible to get light boots on a level 3! The minimum food you should bring is salmon (salmon are as good as shark for a lvl 3 ). Make sure when you get the levels 70-80s that you strategicly make a run for it, and take as little damage as possible. 1.6 How to Avoid Trouble: At times, some level 40-60s come up and start being disrespectful towards level 3s. Especially when you have wizard (g) or (t), why? because they're jealous. The best thing to do is ignore them, OR if they use offensive language, you can report them and hopefully they will get banned. Whatever you do, don't lose your temper. Remember, they are probly 8 year olds in real life. Common level 50: Level 50: Are you selling your hat? Me: No Level 50: Please? i offer alot of money! Me: *sigh* fine, whats your offer? Level 50: 2491 gp! Me: Sorry, no. Level 50: NOOB! *runs away* 1.7 Questions and Answers: Q: When training at willows south of draynor bank, is it dangerous with the dark wizards and all? A: It can be, however if you training there stay to the southern trees or fishing spots (this way the wizards can't reach you). Q: If I did all the quests possible for a level 3, could I enter the Champions Guild? A: Sorry but no, all the non-combat quests add up to 29 QP and the champions guild requires 32 . Q: Can the high levels in Stronghold of security 1 hit me? A: No, the highest I've ever been hit by them is 8 (however a friend says he got hit 9). Q: What happens if I get a random event while training? A: This is sometimes a problem, randoms events can kill level 3s easily. This is why you should follow the rules and NEVER leave the computer with out logging out. Also do not bring rares or valuables when training, just to be safe. 1.8 Tips and Tricks: 1. Always have auto-retaliate OFF (so you don't accidentally get combat experience) 2. After you make a bit of cash (around 100k-200k), you can try merchanting to get more money. However, you can also use skills to make cash. 3. Good things to merchant: - Rune Essence - Runes - Full Rune sets, and separate pieces 4. If you really want to be cautious about not getting combat experience, wield a bow/cross-bow without any ammo. This way you cannot attack NPCs. 1.9 Credits: 'Liam Dominion I0__0I Lvl 3 Neeb NGoR46 This guide is used, with full permissions, from NGoR HQ.
