The website layout looks fantastic and everything goes very well together. Anyway: 1. The forums is huge. If you have to spin the mouse wheel more than 10 times to reach the bottom, than it's considered big. Here's what I suggest have: (The three-dashed subjects are the main headings. Each two-dashed subject are sections, and each 1 dashed subject are subforums.) --- NEWS -- NEWS - Runescape (RS) News - Community News - World News (Why have a section for each news? It would be better to classify all of it as 'News', and then subforum each one.) --- Recruits And Clans -- Recruitment Applications -- Clan Database (The other things seemed irrelevant to this section's purpose. The 'Questions' section should become a sticky in the Recruit Applications) --- Community Issues -- Introductions/Departures -- General Discussions -- Pub Tales -- Events - Donations -- Help/Technical Support -- Comments/Suggestions (Donations is basically an event-related section, which is why I decided it should be a subforum. The Introduction section should always go at the top of the area. Polls/Votes should really be classified under General Discussion. I added a few others that beloing in the Community Area, Help/Technical Support and Comments/Suggestions. They both are community-based.) --- Runescape (RS2) -- Game Assistance -- Price Guide/Item Database -- Marketplace (Nothing needs to be changed here.) --- Digital Art -- Graphics Marketplace -- Showcase (I took out quite a bit from Community Support. Report Abuse should always be kept private and never open to the public. Reporting A Webiste problem should really be classified under 'Comments/Suggestions' in Community Issues.) --- Staff Applications -- Training -- Chat This would greatly decrease the size, and make the topics organized. If you need any help in doing this, let me know. I think that it's a great idea. My next suggestion: Descriptions should be kept plain and simple. For several of the suggestions (Under each topic), you guys have paragraphs and what-not. Keep them 1 to 2 lined. Anything else should become a sticky in that section explaining it. I, personally hope all of these are considered. It can only be benifitual in the long-run. Thanks (>^_^)> *punch* Vaerox - Ngor Member |

Lol, I don't know if he meant to ask to become a Forum Admin to edit the forums, but the idea was something we been working on. Coil101 condensed our forums 2 times thus far. But I have told him to keep the majority of it as is. You can't really condense some things more than it is, suchc as being a community that covers all of the major online games currently active. But yeah, I am looking to always take into consideration simplifying 2 forum categories into 1, should it not pose a problem. But as we found when I condensed the links at NGoR HQ, it caused even more confusion by making dropdown menus, than when we just listed them plan out, into their own categories, with section sub-titles (community, custom guides, official guides, other). So, as for our forum, I will review your listed suggestion, and try owrking time to get our forums sized down a little futher, while not removing necessary major busy zones, which the majority of NGoR use on a daily basis. |
