Chapter Four: Trouble Brewing When they got back to Varrock, Coldfire examined his wares. He had a Bronze Long Sword, missing a huge section at the top, and a wooden shield, which looked like it would splinter if the wind blew too hard. He rested the shield upon the dummy, near the bank, and took a swipe at it. All that was left after his powerful swipe was the iron bracket, for holding the wood together. The chunk at the end was gone, and he was holding a short sword now. Bobby saw this, and feeling sympathy for Coldfire, gave him the full set of Steel that he PKed from the ambush. Bobby, now equipped with full Adamanite, walked down the path first, followed by Purekilling, and then Coldfire. They headed about Varrock for a while, but couldn’t find anything to do. Purekilling muttered to Coldfire that he still needed to make some money. He told this to Bobby, and they headed to Barbarian Village. Bobbydown wouldn’t tell them how they’d get some money, yet. All three picked up Bronze pickaxes, and Bobbydown whirled his about his head. Purekilling threw his up in the air and caught it, feeling the weight of his new tool. All of a sudden, Purekilling lunged forward, and a brownish blur was barley visible. A Barbarian woman collapsed, 20 feet away, impaled with a Bronze pickaxe head. Coldfire picked up the handle, and gave it to Purekilling. He walked over, and pulled the axe head out of the lifeless body. Coldfire fixed the head on the handle, and wiped the blood of the axe. ”Bloody arrogant showoff,” Coldfire muttered to Purekilling, then he grinned. ”Lets head off now,” Bobbydown said, now smiling. The company walked towards the heavily fortified town of Fallador. Along the way, they saw dwarfs, half the size of normal man, yet still pretty powerful. Coldfire peered of the cliff, and saw people walking below toward Varrock. Something didn’t seem right. There were clouds that filled up the once blue, clear sky. The clouds had a tint of purple about them. Coldfire took little notice of it, and continued down the pathway. When they got there, they didn’t stop in the town, but kept going south. They were getting tied, when they reached a place where Bobbydown signaled to stop. The sight that beheld them was amazing. People mining rocky outcrops. Bobbydown had Purekilling and Coldfire mine tin and copper, whilst he went to start on some gold. After about an hour of mining, and banking the ores, they had a large supply that would put a small mining company to shame. Bobbydown led them to a small building, with nothing but a large furnace inside. Bobbydown took a tin and copper ore, and showed them how to make a bar. He carefully put a tin and copper ore on top of each other and watched them slowly melt away. After a while, all that was left was a single bar of bronze on the bottom of the furnace. Coldfire found this boring, but he saw he was slowly getting better. Bobbydown decided, after they had smelt all the bars, they were ready for the money-making part of this excursion. He headed up to a small hut made of melted clay, on the outskirts of Falador. Inside lived a dwarf named Doric. He tried to stop them from entering his house, but the force of three people was too much for even the toughest dwarf. Bobbydown snarled at him, then asked nicely for some hammers. The dwarf was scared but resistant. “No,” he was able to stumble out. Before Bobbydown was able to raise his axe, a Mithril dagger point stuck out from the dwarf’s stomach. The dwarf collapsed, with his hands still behind his back. ”He was about to draw a Runite battleaxe,” the stranger stated. This figure was dressed in a long garment, though not much Coldfire viewed, because the stranger seemed to have some attractive power to his face. Coldfire, though grateful to see the troublesome dwarf dead, was getting tired of other people saving him. The three thanked this mysterious stranger, and introduced themselves. ”I am…,” Coldfire started, but was suddenly cut off by the stranger. The stranger held out his hand, and moved it across the three adventurers. “Coldfire, Bobbydown, and Purekilling,” he said, in a misty voice. His hand moved again to Coldfire, then stopped. ”I know you hate mages, but behold, I am more of a seer. I cannot see you making friend with anyone with the magical powers that flow though their veins, but I am different. Just give me a chance, for, I did save your lives.” Coldfire thought about it again. ”Forgive me. My name is Yoda Sabre. It would be best to do what you must do here, then flee this place, because it will become a center for conversations for many months to come.” ”Thank you for this information. And yes, you may join this fellowship of friendship,” Bobbydown said, for Coldfire. The four smithed their Bronze bars, then headed back to Varrock. Already, the news was spreading. They sold their hand-made weapons to the local shop, and deposited some money in the bank. They headed to the Blue Moon Inn, and paid the inn keeper for four rooms. For the night that followed, Coldfire tossed and turned throughout his dreams… |

Okay, I just finished proofreading, 'voice' coloring, editing, and bolding character names. Good chapter. Glad to see your storyline comming along nicely. ![]() Oh, and I heard word of about 3 others who claim they plan to write their own story (after reading yours), but they lack the 'motivation' to overcome their bordom of writing. :\ (C1, Hellhound_89, PureKilling2) |

Dude, I got it perfect for the story! I was thinking about the end, and how I so wanted to see more of the story, yet I know people have their lives top priority, and games 2nd. But um, yeah. I wrote your 5th chapter, just it would be a perfect interlude, going from Coldfire's dream, and then back to reality in the 6th chapter. But I need your approvial for it first! Just I don't have time to type it up now. I got homework due tomorrow morning at 10AM. Which is an hour drive.. so yeah. If you could hold the next installment until perhaps tomorrow night, I'll have time to type mine, and send it to your forum PM box. That wy you can tell me if it would go along with what you wrote (unless you too have wrote where the previous left off.. how Coldfire couldn't sleep easy.. and if you wrote about a dream he had).

Okay, I sent a copy to both DJ and Nick, that way maybe if he wants some ideas on building a setting around the characters or plot of his chapter, he can check if he likes mine.
