Chapter Three: Brothers in Arms The castle was huge, with rats around every corridor. Coldfire turned the corner, and opened the door, to see a cook in distress. He seemed to be hurrily pouring ingredients into a clay bowl. Coldfire closed the door, then stepped outside. He couldn’t think of what to do. He might go train combat on cows for a while. He started out of the castle cloister. On his way to the cow pen, he saw people fishing; ducks and chickens all joyous. He was at the cow pen for about an hour when he realized his level was high enough to train on something else. He started down the path to goblin village. The goblins were much harder than cows, some of them even carried spears, and they were going to cause his wooden shield to break. After a while, he decided to earn some money. "How?" he thought. "Mining, smithing, woodcutting or combat?" Since he only was training on strength, he decided to go Player Killing. PKing was a adrenaline rush at first, but got easier as time progressed. At level 25, he could find plenty of people to attack. The player type he hated the most were mages. He found a archer to team with, and they agreed to share the plunder. Coldfire added PureKilling2, the first friend on his list. He continued to try to find someone his level to attack. After a while of futile search, he decided to go deeper into the wilderness. The team headed up to the training ground of the Greater Demons, but were careful not to venture too close, because the hulking figures around the broken-down building could kill a level 25 easily. Soon as they reached the training ground, four white dots appeared on his map. Coldfire got ready to run, because if they were strong, then they wouldn’t have much of a chance. He took a glace at one of the characters. The figure was clad in black robes, with a gnarled staff, with a white orb on the top. He was only level 15. “Great. A mage.” he whispered to PureKilling2. “I’ll take him.” PureKilling2 whispered back. By this time, all four of them were in sight. There were 2 mages, an archer and a close-combat specialist. They were all under level 15, but numbers could be decisive. PureKilling2 shot off three steel-tiped arrows at the mage. The mage conjured up a shield. A moment too late, as the arrows hit his midriff and legs. The figure crumpled on a blasted hill. Now, with three versus two, the numbers were going to prove decisive in this battle. “Team up on the archer!” PureKilling2 said to Coldfire. PureKilling2 was now silently wishing that he had not teamed with Coldfire. Coldfire charged toward the archer, and made a swipe. But the close-combat specialist was up behind him, waiting for this opening. Coldfire saw a swish of pale blue, out of the corner of his eye. He felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder. Coldfire, overcome by the pain, fell down in a heap. He wouldn’t die now. Overhead, he saw another PKer joining the fray, PureKilling2 and this new combatant working together. He could barely make out a level, and the name... Level 40, BobbyDown01. Pitch black overcame Coldfire, as the world waded away. He come to. Two silhouettes were leaning over him, pouring wine over him. He now realized what happened. He was suffered a major wound, from a Mithril two-handed sword at the right shoulder, and lost conciousness. The battle still raged abroad, while he was out cold. BobbyDown01 saved his skin. “Thanks.” Coldfire and PureKilling2 said in unison. “Well, I hate to see newbs dying.” Bobby shot back, looking at Coldfire. “I’m sorry about that. Would you accept my humble apology?” Coldfire asked. Coldfire extended an outstretched hand to Bobby. Bobby, who was stunned, thought about it for a while. Coldfire started to withdraw his offer, because he realized Bobby wouldn’t accept. Bobby lunged forward, and grabbed his hand, pulling Coldfire off the dusty, black soil of the Wilderness, and shook his hand vigorously. The three started back toward Varrock. |

DJ: Nice story. I'll continue to see if I can get time to edit them, so the majority can read them in full color verbals, and edited paragraph formation and layout. Keep up the good work. Also, ironic how one of the clans I am currently allied with on Diablo II in clan MF-D is clan BiA (Brothers in Arms). But very nice avatar this time, as last one. So, channel bot. Nice.

Yeah, I was so looking forward to the next installment being posted by now. Oh well, at least I did 1 show so far on RS, with private mode off while I fished, to begin to slowly let all NGoR know I'm back finally!
