Chapter Two:
A Long Ride to Civilization

The ship to Lumbridge was full of nervous newbs, ready to be let loose on the world. The newbs, like all players, at first, would be very inquisitive and fearful. Coldfire tried to strike a conversation with one, but he flinched, and clutched his bronze long sword even tighter. It appeared that Coldfire and the captain were the only people who weren’t so jumpy. As the newb he attempted to speak with didn’t appear ready to respond, he walked over the highly polished wood, to the captain.

How many times you been doing this route?Coldfire asked.
About three years.” the captain replied.
Oh.

The captain took his hands of the wheel, and waddled over to the front of the boat, where Coldfire was standing. He pointed at a direction where a tiny piece of land was visible on the horizon.

Karjarma.” he exclaimed.

As the boat hit a wave, Coldfire heard some newbs in the background; masses of ill, pale faces, some leaning over the railing of the ship.

A newb, who Coldfire had not yet spotted, walked up to him and started talking. At first, Coldfire was surprised. He had no luck on short-term discussion with any newbs yet.

I saw how you handled yourself in the domain." he congradulated. “Those skeletons are a little too rough for me. I had to eat my entire cooking lesson-worth of food at them.
Yeah.Coldfire replied. He wasn't really prepared to talk to anyone yet.
What’s your name? I’m Bobbydown01, but you can take off the end numbers. It's just 'cuz someone already tried to take my name.Bobbydown proclaimed with great enthusiasm.
I’m Coldfire.” he mumbled.

Bobbydown pointed to the sea, at the front of the ship. There were swordfish riding in it's wake.

I’ve seen them a lot around here.” he said.
It's 'cuz we're around the island of Karjarma.Coldfire snapped.

He was trying to silence the persistant newb.

Don’t judge me just because of my level.Bobbydown shouted, as he stormed away.

The trip back was lonely, because Coldfire realized to succeed in life, he needs friends, and he just crushed his first chance of forming a friendship. He vowed not to lose any more friends, if it was within his power.

As the ship neared the dock, the newbs got even more anxious. Coldfire would have to stop thinking 'newbs', because he may slip, and verbally say it, thus getting reported. Such actions are forbidden in Runescape. It failed to even reflect them, anyhow. Their level may be low, but they are not. "Nah." he thought to himself. Perhaps he was just taking Bobbydown’s words too seriously.

As the ship entered port, he could see seaman Lorris, scrambling about, trying to weight the anchor, and get the gangway ready. After all that was prepared, the passengers made his or her way down onto the docks, and started to filter around the fish shop. Coldfire walked down the gangway aswell. At the bottom he saw Bobbydown, and quickly glanced the other way. Lorris said a quick, "Hello." and untied the boat, then moved the gangway away.

Alright everyone, we're going to go to Lumbridge, then you’re free to do whatever you want.” was shouted out, over the heads of the newcommers.

After a brief trip past Draynor Manor, then beyond the forest, they were free to do as they will.

The castle loomed overhead. Coldfire opened the door, and steped into the magnificant, glorious hall.

Raven: I believe the concept art DJ is referring to would be on paper (hand-drawn), for which he requires a scanner. But even then, he will need to upload the image files to a server site (like PhotoBucket.com).

Story grammar/wording: I think I will go back through your current stories and correct anything that I see as an issue. But if I leave anything out, someone else tell DJ so he can make the changes (because some things may be a word that I don't know yet, so I'll leave anything that seems doubtful in my mind.

DJ: Great work! I mean it, it is perhaps better than even my own stories of clan MF-D history (despite a few minor wording issues, and that it is fictional events being described).

Click oneof the chapters below if you wish to read the current history of clan MF-D in the world of Diablo II.

The Clan Wars
The v1.10 Plague

I have yet to get a chance to make the updates, and add the 2nd chapter to the clan MF-D history yet, since my home internet has been off all this time. But for now, you can check out what I got so far for the first part of it. (I know it's nothing near what DJ writes weekly, but it still has it's process. 3 pages on paper, 2 days planning and editing, and then the final result is made to HTML page.)

Keep up the good work, DJ. Hopefully in the future, you will get joint editors to help you create the weekly updates, as time progresses.

DJ: Well, if you don't mind my editing, and perhaps swaping out a few words (kind of like a Thesaurus. words with the same meaning, to make things not so repetative); I can hopefully continue to edit the stories, so they look the way the first 2 do now. But it's all up to you, DJ. You are the origional designer of the stories, figured I could help add my input if it helps any (only completed 2 years of English Composition at my college -- straight As in both. Lol. ;) ).

I enjoy editing mainly anything, especially stories such as yours. It's a nice way to spend the time when I don't have direct access to RS, and even adds to the fun of the whole game, in general.

Fellow readers: I tend to lean more to the use of commas. But if you see any errors I have left, or made myself, just let us know. Either DJ or I shall fix the problem(s) ASAP.
