Chapter 9 More Trouble Coldfire watched, in pity, to those poor goblins that were getting clobbered and beaten by their own generals. Some special goblins, blessed with skill, or who happened to be related to one of the two generals, were able to wield spears into battle. The village Coldfire was entering was known only as goblin village. The buildings were poorly built and falling to ruins, the very soil must have been tainted because of the color it turned. The whole village, it seemed, was infested by rats and other unwelcome vermin. The village was surrounded by two sides of cliffs and a large, menacing looking fence. Coldfire looked on top of the hill. There lay a small building possessed by the Zamkorkian warrior monks. He decided to trek up there and explore. He swung round and headed to the stairs to climb the hill. He saw a vicious, feral bear half-way up the mountain. When Coldfire tried to pass the foul animal, it tried to maul and bite the warrior, with his maw-wielding bone-crushing power. Coldfire obviously realized he was not going to be able to pass, one of the two beings was going to have critical injuries. The bear had the upper hand: strength, speed, and now, the first strike. Coldfire had barley come up to this fearsome opponent and he was already swiping at him. Coldfire dodged the initial attack and the bear was unable to pull back in time. His claws buried deep writhing in ancient oak tree, his other hand still failing around trying to hit the so-called attacker. Instead of being greedy and slaying the animal, Coldfire took pity on the being and turned his back to the animal and once again, started up the path to the warrior monk's abode. A great wail of defeat from the bear came to Coldfire as he took back to the path, his back still turned to the bear, which had already almost fully wriggled his claws from the tree. There were unusual scatterings of rock around. There was an altar, increasingly old by the cracks visible on the top rock, underneath the over-grown foliage. Under the cracks, a small picture of a face, gouged into the rock. Coldfire took an immediate liking to these rocks and stopped and studied them. Something was mysteriously pulling him into them. He found himself gazing at the strange rocks. Another roar from the bear finally woke him up to his senses, he had come to see the Zamkorkian warrior monks and he wouldn’t leave till he visited them. He needed to know more of the world about him. The earth that he waked on was grass that was dying, but the foul forces of death, despair, and the thought of being better than other people. He was, once again, close to the wilderness. The dark brown dirt was tainted by evil warriors and fallen knights. His feet feeling heavy, he plodded to the building. The building was a normal stone built building, with two stories. Inside it was anything but normal. Red seemed to be the dominant color, even against the grey of the stone. On both sides of the room were red candles, glowing an abnormal red flame. The floor he walked on was a red carpet with golden thread trimming. And on the far wall from the door, was a stone alter with a dark red piece of cloth, with extremely fine golden thread designs. But the most startling thing was not the color but what was on the alter, a pewter jug containing what Coldfire believed to be wine. Stranger yet, the inhabitants of the building seemed to worship the wine. The warrior monks weren’t as tough as he thought they would be, but there were expectations. Some had forged their own steel maces. The spikes on the maces would defiantly cause a lot of damage to a person, without much damage caused to the weapon itself. As if it were a creed, the monks were robed, from head to toe, in red robes. The monks moved about in utter silence, only stopping to mutter a brief word in the altar’s direction, doubtless a prayer of some sort. Coldfire didn’t want to create a stir inside the holy place so he sheathed his sword. The sound the sword made against the sheath wrung out like a bell, and was seemingly magnified by the lack of noise. All the monks turned to see what direction of the noise had come from. They didn’t really take kindly to intruders defiling their sacred building. “The time has come to flee” Coldfire decided. He turned quickly, as the monks closed in on him, brandishing their maces before his face. Coldfire raced out and down the path to varrock. He needed to go under cover for a while. Coldfire’s situation was a difficult one, he’s lost his friends, everything in his path seemed to have a will to defeat him, even peaceful things and strange things were happening around him. He continued to speed down the path, only to slow down once the defiled and demented temple was out of view. He slowed down to a walk, he past those rocks again. He must come back here to find out the mystery behind those rocks, he thought to himself. The grass was beginning to retain its lush green glow about it and evergreen and oak trees were beginning to be more popular amongst the grass as he headed away from the Wilderness. A sudden roar reminded him about his next problem, the bear. This time, he won’t be lucky enough to just slip pas or distract him. The time had come to fight this powerful adversary. The forest was getting dense, so Coldfire did not know the bear was three meters from him, but the bear did, thanks to his keen séance of smell. Coldfire started to get weary from walking for 2 days without rest. "Why now?" he thought. Even though he was tired, he strained his ears as best he could. He heard rustling to his left. Turning, he found nothing but a snake, slithering away. He had let his guard down. The bear did not understand this, but attacked Coldfire from behind, anyway. Meanwhile... The squire had been quite curious as to where the 4th member of his guardian angel squad was. He had been missing for quite a while now. The mysterious seer had gone to look for him, he had taken the squire with him to the others' distaste. The others tried everything to keep him, but Yoda would rather he follow him, rather than others. They trudged though blood-stained mud at Barbarian Village. Yoda seemed to know the way. He led him though Falador. He saw the west bank of Fallador, but they trudged right past. A grand mansion, host to many raging parties, and claimed by the community, National Guard of Runescape, lives here. The squire heard many rumours of this place, during some of the parties, a poor farmer went in there, an hour or two later, he came out, with a runite plate, and enough lobsters to last him at least a month. And the host of the party, an even more mysterious stranger, supplies the goods. Some say he’s a master thief. Others say he has no life. The squire wanted to meet him someday. The door of the mansion opened, and Yoda and the squire walked in, and straight up the stairs. He turned abruptly, something made a noise in the room to the left, Yoda just kept walking, though. He trusted in Yoda's confidence, and followed him. He walked right into the room, and objects on the wall glittered and shone bright. He never saw the trap quickly enough.. |

Same thing I always told anyone else. I don't read the chapters until I am editing them. That way I save the time because I am going to be setting the verbal colors as I read it, instead of reading it over and over. Not saying it isn't good, just when you are running a site, time is money. |

Yeah, well it's true. I can make about 1m a night as soon as Crashm100 gets 5k more lobsters from me, and can then cook my sharks for me to sell. Okay, read the chapter now, and fully edited it and might have edited a few words due to repetition. |
