West Coast Avengers - Unity Division Roster Iron Man Black Panther Rescue Rogue Scarlet Witch Storm Wolverine The Uncanny Avengers and Mighty Avengers have one, so I thought I'd get a plotting thread up for the West Coast Avengers as well. Now I'm really excited about this team as for the first time on AND, an entire group that focuses on both Avenger and X-Men ordeals. Should be fun as we'll not only be dealing with Avenger type villains, but X-Men villains as well. And lets not forget the different personalities that should result in fun threads to come. So, anyone have any ideas on what plots could kick off the West Coast Avengers? |

Also, lets not forget character relationships. Lets see what each of us come up with to make the team even more dynamic. Here are Storm's current status with the fellow Avengers... Iron Man - Ororo is more neutral towards Tony, but with that, does not fully trust him. He did after all lead the Registration Act and that also played a bit with the MRA. She respects him, but finds him to be too full of himself. Black Panther - Her husband. She loves and cares for him. They just are not on the same page right now. With this team being formed, it's a chance for the two to rekindle what's happened after the Genosha-Wakanda deal (behind her back). She's still upset about that and for the first time in a long time, does not know what she needs to do. She'd like to avoid speaking to him for the moment, but knows that's not possible - they run a country together and are on an Avengers team together. Rescue - Ororo is neutral towards Pepper Potts. She admires the fact that she puts up with Tony Stark. She is also aware that she has recently become a new super hero. She would not mind showing the young woman the ropes if needed. Wolverine - One of her best friends and is going to be the Maid of Honor in his and Jean's wedding. Besides Rogue, he is someone who she feels that she could confide in the most. Rogue - As said before, Storm confides in Rogue. She's going to need her friends with her to help adapt to this team although she wonders herself how Rogue would feel being on this team, especially with Magneto's daughter. Scarlet Witch- This one is an interesting one. From the thread in Avengers Tower, there already appears to be a little animosity between the two. Storm does not hold anything against her. Her time with the Brotherhood is in the past and she's proven herself as a hero. She respects that. I think this one could go either way. I'm thinking that maybe we should get a thread going on the West Coast. Perhaps everyone getting into the compound for the first time. |

Tony understands the reasoning for this team. It's to bridge a better relationship between the Avengers and the X-Men. He likes that and likes that this was why the team was created. However, he's really here to keep an eye on Pepper. He won't say that out loud though, but he fears of losing her and doesn't really know how he feels with her being on a team that consists of some of the more popular mutants. Not that he has anything against mutants, but he knows they have a target on their back as well. So even if he is in New York and is controlling one of his empty armors in California (or vise-versa), he at least could keep a much easier eye on her. Black Panther - A good friend of Tony's. He is looking forward to working with the man on this new team. He's also happy to have him back as an Avenger. Rescue - Tony won't admit it, but the only real reason why he is on this team is to keep a close eye on Pepper. He understands that she wants to be a hero. He also wants to be sure to protect her. This may or may not ruffle some feathers on the team. Rogue - Tony hasn't had that much interaction with Rogue. There was that time where she was a villain and apart of the Brotherhood. He's also well familiar with her. Be sure to check for touching jokes. Scarlet Witch - Another good friend of Tony's. However, their relationship may have become estranged post-Civil War. They would without a doubt need to have a good talk with one another. She trusted he and Cap enough to re-join the Avengers. Now to see what's to come next. Storm - Another person he respects, but also has not had much interaction with. He sees himself as being on good terms with her. Wolverine - A friend indeed. However, one that he does not mind sharing a word or two with. He thinks he knows how to get under his skin when needed. He also knows that he is a very valuable person as either an Avenger or an X-Man. He does concern himself as wondering if his killing ways are actually behind him, or in secret. Maybe we could work on a plot in regards to that? Now for plots. I don't have this fully sketched out, but just an idea to chew on. One of Tony's oldest rivals, Aldrich Killian works with A.I.M. to capture mutants and test a new form of Extremis on them, as well as to gain control of them. Perhaps this makes one of the West Coast Avenger mutants to be a target? Thoughts? Also, I have another idea for the future, but it's more of a cross-team plotting idea that would involve Jean Grey, the Shi'ar, Guardians of the Galaxy....the Phoenix. You know, all that jazz. |

The Witch is ready to get back into the hero game now with her old friends by her side. She's been gone for a while now, trying to gather her wits around her after a hard time, but perhaps new and old faces, as well as the responsibility of once again being the Scarlet Witch will bring out the best in Wanda. Iron Man - Tony is perhaps the Avenger on the team she's most familiar with, but also unsure about. It was his backing of the Registration Acts that pushed her over the brink into a bad state of mind for a while, estranging her from her friends. Now that that is over, she wants to forgive him, but not sure she can manage it. What Wanda really needs is to work out what anger she has towards him, somehow. Black Panther - She knows T'Challa as a fellow Avenger and thinks of him as a noble king of Wakanda, but also knows there's a much more serious side to him than a lot of the other Avengers because of it. If she finds out anything involving the Wakanda-Genosha deal, she'd question it, but it wouldn't bother her that much. Rescue - Wanda recognizes Pepper as Tony's close friend and assistant from years past, and figures she can count on her as a friend now that they're fellow Avengers. Rogue - And X-Men member that Wanda isn't entirely familiar with personally speaking, but recognizes. They were both involved with the Brotherhood at different points in their lives and share that in common, and could probably be good friends given the time and opportunity. Wanda wants to push past the area she finds herself in where the X-Men seem intimidating or distant from her. Storm - Another X-Men member, and one who Wanda is definitely unsure about because of lack of familiarity and her anxiety about the X-Men. They could probably be friendly once Wanda gets past the habit of shying away from them. Wolverine - Wanda is much more familiar with Logan, who has been an Avenger before, and thinks of him as a nice guy, if a bit gruff, violent, and strange. Definitely no problem with him, and perhaps he can help her work out her shyness with the other X-Men teammates. As far as plot ideas go, the AIM idea sounds like fun. What kind of effects would a new strain of Extremis have on mutants other than mind control and possibly greatly empowering them? Maybe some kind of instability? Maybe, to start, they start investigating the disappearance of mutants, then encounter a few of these Extremis-empowered test subjects, and then some of the mutant members find themselves targeted. Build it up. I also have an idea where Los Angeles is targeted by Nightmare, with a significant portion of the population find themselves trapped in a terrible state of sleep brought on by him. The only way for the WCA to help is to go to sleep as well and take on Nightmare in the dream-scape, facing their biggest fears along the way. |

It's a great idea that there is a team mixed with The X-Men and Avengers. I think it would be a great plot to have the two teams respective villains do a team up also. Not all the major villains but some minors with a major all working together for a goal, or to retrieve a powerful item or something. Rogue's attitude towards her teammates is as follows: Iron Man: Rogue really doesn't know how to feel about Tony. They've never really had any interaction. Maybe a thread to get to know each other needs to happen. Black Panther: The husband of Rogue's best friend Storm. Haven't had a chance to really be around Panther. They traveled in different teams. Though he seems to love Storm so, he's okay in Rogue's book. Rescue: Haven't met her, but hopes to interact with her soon. Don't know if Rescue is up for the challenge of being a hero because she hasn't been a hero long enough. Storm: Rogue's best friend. A lot of problems that Rogue had to deal with Storm was there. If it wasn't for Storm, there's no telling how Rogue would have turned out. It's great to have Someone on the team that Rogue can confide in. Wolverine: Another great friend. Rogue feels that Logan treats her like a little sister. He's always looked out for her. Though rough at times, he's like a big teddy bear to Rogue. |

It should definitely be some kind of instability. Maybe without much control, the mutant would die from the experiment. I know in the films, Extremis ended up turning the test subjects to ash if they overheated. It would be a great intro for the team. You guys want to do this now? |

Iron Man: T'Challa gets along pretty well with Tony, but sees him as irresponsible. Rescue: T'Challa has met Pepper but doesn't really know her. Understands that she's the one that keeps Stark's business afloat. Rogue: the Panther hasn't met Rogue but knows she's one of Ororo's good friends. Scarlet Witch: he knows Wanda pretty well and is attempting to understand her hex powers better. Storm: things are a bit rocky between the married couple, but he's confident they'll work it out. Wolverine: respects Logan, but is not a fan. |

I was hoping MVP could be on or join the Unity squad, he's quite literally perfectly human and I feel bad having two people on the Young Avengers. He's also a year off retirement from the team anyway, because he'll soon be reaching their cut off date. He'd also bring with him the opportunity to go for the clone angle, I'm sure A.I.M would love a perfect genetic profile that allows for any added bonuses or super powers. We could KIA or a different variation on the theme, or couple it with something else etc. |

I have an idea for a time-traveling plot with the Avengers and X-Men it's along the lines of Tony's and Storms, maybe Rogue gets captured and her power to take others powers is increased beyond her control and she mistakely sends the avengers into 100 years into the future where the city of New York is destroyed and the avengers have been killed because of Doom and Magneto's artifact they gave them unlimited power. Any thoughts? |

We have a Magneto, but he's not in a particularly conquering mood. We also don't have a Loki. Doom isn't in a large position to trick Magneto into doing anything right now, and time travel is difficult. An Avengers+X-Men plot involving Apocalypse does sound interesting, though, without the time-travel. And of course Falcon's standing as an Uncanny Avenger would allow him to help out if he happened to be visiting the team when everything does down ![]() Maybe a bit further down the road, however? This doesn't seem like something we can easily just slap together. |
