Canon/Original: Canon Pre-Made by Angel Codename: Invisible Woman Real Name: Susan Storm Nickname: Sue, Susie, Susie Q Age: 32 Gender: Female Race: Mutate Appearance: Sue is of average height and weight for a woman her age, approximately 5’6” and 130lbs. With piercing blue eyes and vibrant blonde locks, she is generally considered to be beautiful by those she encounters. Clothing: Sue is a sophisticated woman and as such her clothing remains true to that. Whether it is a casual blouse and dress pants or skirts, or even jeans with heels, she dresses with class. Still, that isn’t to say that she doesn’t love her running shoes when going for a jog or simply running errands. As long as it’s comfortable and not demeaning in any way to her character, and of course something she likes, she’ll wear it. When training or during combat her suit is the same Fantastic Four uniform worn by her team. Due to her powers however, her clothing has to be modified to meet her abilities. The unstable molecules engineered into the fabric allow whatever she’s wearing to become invisible when she does. Weapons / Armor / Gear: Her Fantastic Four costume consists of unstable molecules that will turn invisible when she does. The costume also has sensors that could track her location if anything bad were to happen. Skills / Education/ Training: Through training, Sue has become a capable unarmed combatant. She also has some experience in the field of acting. Powers: Invisibility: Sue is able to render herself (either wholly or partially) and objects or people she touches completely invisible by bending the various wavelengths of light hitting her body or the target in question. Even in her invisible state, enough undistorted light is directed to her eyes and as such she retains the same visibility she would have when visible. The largest volume she can as yet turn invisible at a single time is approximately 40,000 cubic feet of volume (1,133 cubic meters), which is the equivalent of a small swimming pool. Objects rendered invisible by physical means can be detected and using her abilities, Sue is able to render them visible once more, using her powers to counter their imposed invisibility. However she is unable to sense objects made invisible by psionic or magical means. Psionic Force Fields/ Objects: With the cells in her brain possessing an even more potent power than those in her body, she is able to project psionic force fields that can be manipulated into simple shapes including but not limited to: barriers, cones, darts, columns, platforms, rams, etc. The only limitation is her own mental ability to visualize the object enough to maintain its form as it is invisible even to her. The surface of the field’s rigidity can also be controlled. The smallest force projection she can visualize (and maintain the visualization) is the size of a marble. The largest solid force projection she can visualize and maintain is about 100 feet in diameter. She can project larger force-objects if they are hollow. For instance, she could visualize and project a dome of 1 foot thick about a mile in diameter (5,280 feet) and a dome 1 inch in thickness she can project for about 3.2 miles. Small objects at high speeds become missiles; large objects at slow speeds become rams. She can make these objects grow or shrink as desired, up to a size of 100 feet (30 meters). Flight up to 25 m/h is achieved by using her projections to form rising columns beneath her feet, expanding and shrinking as needed to catch her. Due to the concentration required for this feat however, she is usually fatigued after about 4 hours. Because her power is an extension of her body, and especially her mind she can be affected by forces acting upon her projections; feeling both mental and/or physical pain based on the strength of the attack. Weakness: Sue’s main weakness seems to be her own self-imposed limitations as she is only willing to push the boundaries of her powers if absolutely necessary. Also, due to the psionic nature of her abilities, a great deal of focus is required to maintain force fields, the invisible objects created and even her own invisibility to an extent. For example if she somehow manages to get caught when invisible, with her focus now on freeing herself her invisibility can be compromised. Personality: Being the one to take care of her younger brother when she was still a child herself, Sue was forced to mature very quickly. Because of this she is very protective of her family and friends and always ready to lend a hand wherever she could. She is also a smart and confident person, and usually a voice of reason when needed. History: Born to a physician named Franklin Storm and Mary Storm, Susan was the eldest and their only girl. She and her younger brother Jonathan lived a typically mundane life in the town of Glenville, Long Island and this remained true until the events of one unfateful night. Leaving the Storm siblings at home, their parents were on their way to a dinner honouring Dr. Storm when the tire blew out, causing injury to Mary. Being the doctor he was, Dr. Storm insisted on operating on his wife, but failed to save her life. His guilt over her death led him to spiral into depression, booze and gambling, which would also lead to the loss of his practice and the accidental killing of a loan shark. Resigning himself to his fate and with the guilt of his wife’s death still plaguing him, Sue’s father did not defend himself in court, ultimately accepting his prison sentence for murder. These events forced Sue to mature quickly as she now needed to take care of her brother and herself with both of their parents gone. Eventually going to live with her Aunt Marygay, it was there that she first met Reed Richards, an honours student attending college, developing a crush on him as well. It didn’t matter that he was older than her. After graduating as the award winning captain of her Varsity Swim Team of her High School, Sue chose to pursue her studies in California with the knowledge of Reed being there as well. She even went as far as to try to commit to a career in acting. When their paths crossed again, it was then that the two pursued a romantic relationship with each other. Before long they were engaged, and Sue was helping him with his latest project. When he decided to launch the ship early, reassuring her that everything would go smoothly, she persuaded him to allow herself and her brother Johnny to accompany him and his pilot/old roommate and friend Ben Grimm. In space the quartet was exposed to cosmic radiation, with a solar flare intensifying that radiation. Needing to abort the mission, the ship headed back to Earth, crash landing after entering Earth’s atmosphere. Realizing immediately that something was different, Sue knew from that day on their lives would all be changed forever.
