f*cking losers. But it's like Rex said after the now meaningless win over the Pats 'same old Jets back in the AFC title game' only to lose. That first half was one of the most disgraceful performances I've seen ever. I am more angry at this team than I was the 2004 Yankees because at least past Yankee teams had given me great memories before that dreadful October. With the Juets, it's nightmare after nightmare. A huge chance wasted and they won't get this close again. Also gotta love how stupid ass Bart Scott didn't show up (like most of the season really). Can't stop a nosebleed? That's exactly what I was thinking in the first half and I don't even want to hear about the failed comeback attempt. They lost, as usual and I think the tone was set when Rex let his ego get in the way and gave the Steelers the ball to start. They proceeded to walk all over this overrated defense of his. He's a problem, so are all the talkers like Scott and Cromartie who never back up their words.

Giving the Steelers the ball first was a mistake. Rex totally let them set the tone and the Juets never recovered. |

Yup, looking forward to that. I don't expect the Yankees do much but at least I know there's a chance. The Juets are just losers and I really need to stop putting so much into rooting for them. This may finally be the last straw for me. I really believed this team had a chance and they totally sh*t their pants. f*ck 'em... get baseball started and if football isn't played next year hopefully something good comes out of that, like the Juets getting contracted. |

:fyou: with that gay-ass baseball sh*t. YF, if I was a Jets fan, I'd be upset about the game (that first half was pure ass product) but not really the season. Anyone who thought this was a true Super Bowl type team bought into Rex's hype and hyperbole. The talent on the roster is overrated. When you think about all the things lacking and the inconsitent play from certain people, you realize they weren't supposed to win it all. I picked against them in every round of the playoffs because I never believed in the team. For them to reach the title game was an accomplishment because they overachieved. Which other of the final four teams had an old running back, an overrated offensive line (don't let the media fool you, they're solid at 4 spots, good at 2 of them, and D'Brickashaw still can't run-block for sh*t; that's why their power runs all go off right guard), a quarterback who completed 55% and was up and down all season, inconsistent receivers who drop more than their share, a patchwork defensive line (Jenkins goes down every year and they sub in who? to play nose tackle), a linebacker group that has one guy producing consistently (David Harris), a secondary with two safeties who can't cover, and no pass rush? Your best pass-rushers were Bryan Thomas, a first-round bust, and Jason Taylor, an over-the-hill guy who isn't even a real f*cking linebacker. Throw all that sh*t together and I don't know how the season turns out, I'd see them being about a 10-6 team that gets a Wild Card spot if things break right, then loses in the first round. People expected more because Rex said so and the media made them out to be more than they are. Things like the Giants '07 Super Bowl run aren't supposed to happen - that's straight fluke. And, honestly, I think that Giants team had more all-around talent than the Jets this year. More experienced QB, better offensive line, better running game, they got production from Kiwika Mitchell and Pierce at linebacker, and they had the league's best pass rush that year. And even they were VERY lucky to reach the Super Bowl. I said back then after they beat the Cowboys that, I expected them to lose by 10 to the Packers, but I would be proud of what they did that season because they went further than their talent dictated they should've. It's the same for the Jets. You should still be pissed because, even with all that was wrong with them and everything stacked against them, the Jets still were a decent first half or a goal line TD away from winning. But this season as a whole wasn't one to be ashamed of. |

Honestly, I didn't expect them to get beyond the divisional round this year if lucky. Doesn't make me any less pissed about how they performed. For the second year in a row they were one win away from a chance to play for the big prize and they lost. Sure it would've taken pretty much everything to continue to break right for the Jets to have won the whole thing but it's happened for flawed teams before, for once I'd like that team to be the one I root for. If the stupid asses hadn't come out flat, if the stupid fat moron of a head coach doesn't let the Steelers start with the ball, if the idiot o.c. doesn't call for f*cking passes at the goal line and countless other dumb things don't happen maybe they win. If they had lost 24-3 or even worse, I could've dealt with it a little better, still would've been pissed but at least I would've known this team had no shot. The fact is the Jets did have a shot but they pissed it away because of stupidity.

It was a good season, more highs than lows, but ultimately we failed. The bottom line is championships, and this team is still waiting. It's now 43 years and counting, Knicks fans I guess can feel me to a degree, they've almost been waiting as long. It's tough, I'm still not over this loss, I really thought we were going to beat Pittsburgh, but ultimately I don't know if we would have beaten Green Bay and if you lose in the Super Bowl it's just as bad as losing in the AFC Championship, but I sure would have liked the chance. I don't really have a problem with deferring and giving Pittsburgh the ball, but the defense just didn't do the job and couldn't stop Mendenhall, plus the Cromartie penatly on that opening drive killed us. You can't play one half of football and expect to win up in Pittsburgh in that atmosphere, and that's what this team did. The best thing I take from this season is that I'm truly convinced now that we have a QB. I love this kid, I don't think he's every going to put up gaudy stats, but I think he['s a winner and has what it takes to lead this team to an eventual title. But oh man, that loss to Pittsburgh still hurts, thank god this season is now over and I can start to pick up the pieces and move on to baseball season and eventually and hopefully next football season. |

Yeah, I think Green Bay would've beat us but unfortunately we'll never know. My anger has subsided a little bit but I still do get a little pissed off when I think about that loss. What bothers me the most is the offense was left on the sideline... As bad as that first half went if the f*cking jackovs on defense make a play and get us the ball back with over a minute to go I think we win that game, we had some momentum and our offense was moving the ball pretty well. I'm still not completely sold on Sanchez but he did improve a lot this past season, was usually real good late in games and played well in the playoffs. We'll see where goes he from here but my opinion of him is much higher than it originally was.

You hit the nail on the head, I really thought we had a good chance of moving that ball down the field and having a chance at winning if the defense could have made a stop. Unfortunately it didn't happen and we'll never know, I still think about that a lot. :no1: |
