Moves the Yanks should make: Sign Cliff Lee Get Rick Peterson as the pitching coach Bring back Pettite Sign at least 2 good relievers such as Balfour or Kerry Wood etc Sign Carl Crawford Move Posada to DH and Montero takes over at catcher Move Gardner to CF and Granderson to right. Trade Swisher Eat $$$ and trade Burnette Move Gardner to leadoff and Jeter to 8th or 9th Nova to the rotation Bring back Thames Bring in a versatile pitcher who can effectively start or relieve Sign a versatile guy like Wiggington, Hairston or Derosa for bench Unfortunately no Dunn as we need to keep DH open for Posada +old timers Gardner Crawford Tex Arod Canoo Montero Granderson Posada Jeter Cliff Lee ZZ Sabathia Pettite Hughes Nova Mo Balfour or equivalent Wood or equivalent Joba Robertson Logan Swing man who can start or relieve Thames Wiggington or DeRosa or Hairston or equivalent (SuperUtil) Golson (for speed & defense)? Nunez (utility infielder) This would give us awesome defense in the outfield and solid defense in the infield (although Jeter's range suckS). Offensively, a great running game at the top of the lineup plus the usual power. The running game is key to manufacture runs when the bats are quiet... Also very solid pitching and a flexible bench. I'd go to war with this lineup ! |

Ty Wiggington has a .313 obp the past two years playing for Baltimore and for a desired "supersub" he doesn't play good defense anywhere. Most Yankee fans want him and I have no idea why. I also doubt he'd be hyped to come to the Yankees and not play. Swisher: .288 BA, .359 OBP, .511 SLG, .870 OPS, 130 OPS+ Crawford:.307 BA, .356 OBP, .495 SLG, .851 OPS, 134 OPS+ Granderson:.247 BA, .324 OBP, .468 SLG, .792 OPS, 109 OPS+ If you were going to trade Swisher or Granderson in order to sign Crawford, why would you trade Swisher? And if you have faith that Granderson will play as good as Swisher than why would you want to waste the money on Crawford who pretty much had a career year and will be disturbingly overpaid because speed is overrated? Signing middle relievers coming off good/great years is usually a bad idea and always a gamble. Wood I would like back. |

Stop it with the SLUG obsession. He is a choke artists and I'm tired of his stupid antics. I'm not a big believer in teams being motivated because of trash talk, but judging by their post game comments the Texas Rangers sure seemed to be motivated by SLUG's stupid moronic trash talk before game 6. I would not shed a tear if SLUG is traded. If the Yanks do sign Coonford, I'd play him in LF, Gertner in CF, and Grandercoon in RF. Let SLUG DH and backup 1B and RF when needed. |

I'd love to have Kerry Wood back but I can't see him coming back as a setup man when he can close elsewhere. Without him, our pen is putrid so we need to bring in at least two decent relievers. I'd LOVE to get Rafael Soriano if he'd agree to pitch setup for a year and then take over as closer when Mo retires, but again "I dought that" ! Regarding Swisher, he can't be the DH because we're stuck with Posada. So either he or Granderson has to go if you bring in Crawford. Granderson is a much better defender than Swisher. However Grandy had a subpar year offensively compared to Swisher's career year. I'd rather sell high on Swisher than sell low on Granderson... :peace: |

f*ck Posada. I'd much rather have SLUG DH instead than Posada. Posada needs to split catcher with Montero. We owe Posada nothing. |

I get the feeling that it's Cliff Lee or Carl Crawford. If that's the case I think almost everyone would agree the guy to get is Lee. The offense could be improved but it isn't going to mean jack if we don't get another front line starter. |
