NY POST: If the Yankees don’t land Cliff Lee this offseason, they can blame their fans. Lee’s wife, Kristen, told USA Today she was disturbed by the treatment she received at Yankee Stadium when the Rangers were playing in the ALCS. She complained about taunting, cursing, spitting, and having beer thrown in her direction while sitting in the family section. "The fans did not do good things in my heart," Kristen told the newspaper. "When people are staring at you, and saying horrible things, it's hard not to take it personal." The money the Yankees likely will throw at the lefty, who will be a free agent after the season, may erase any negative memories of harsh treatment. But Kristen also said she enjoys living in Texas because it's convenient to the couple's hometown of Little Rock, Ark. "That's the greatest thing, being so close to home," she said. "Cliff can fit in anywhere, but it makes my life a lot easier. We've never had a short commute before. Having a direct flight from Little Rock is great." Lee's agent told ESPN.com that the Stadium experience would not eliminate the Yankees as a free-agent option. "The story is not an issue to us," Darek Braunecker said. "Her experience in New York is certainly a non-issue. She enjoys New York as much as anyone enjoys New York." Lee threw eight shutout innings, striking out 13 Yankees, in the Rangers’ Game 3 win of the ALCS in The Bronx on the way to the World Series. Lee will start Game 1 of the Fall Classic on Wednesday against the Giants. "I love this city," Cliff said of the Dallas area. "I love my teammates. It's going to be a good team for years to come. For my family, this couldn't be a better situation. "Free agency is when a player finally gets a choice, and I'm looking forward to that. There are so many things that can happen. I'm just more focused on helping this team win a World Series." While the Yankees focus on prying him away from Texas. :wall: |

Some fans are so moronic, I would never act like that towards any opponents wife or family member or even opponent for that matter, especially one I'm trying to court in free agency the following year. Some people are just retarded. |
