Bigger than Jeter's 6 year deal? I am shocked at Cashman.

Cashman already had a spring training hat on! :bc:

I can't believe re-signing Retardi is actually his first priority. How ridiculous.

Seriously, why on Earth would this be a priority at all? Retardi has done nothing here, I don't want to hear about the WS Championship, they won inspite of his stupidity, the fact they made it this far this season with him at the helm is a miracle. How can Cashman not see this?

Matsui helped win that series and if Matsui was in this lineup he would have been more clutch than ARod. No doubt about it. Even Slug was in slow motion this whole series. Matsui has cool ice in his blood and would have been more clutch as the 6th batter. Definately much better than Posada.

I don't think Matsui would've made that much of a difference and Slug's performance was typical Slug, he sucks and needs to be moved this offseason. I can see why he was hated in Chicago.

How does Slug suck? He improved to .288/29 this season and his swing looks more fluid than it had in the past. There's reason to think he can maintain a level comparable. And his walks were down this year, so maybe he combines the improved contact hitting with that and gets the OBP up to the .380-.390 range. I'm not saying he's some star or anything like that. But he was one of the more consistent players in the lineup this year; maybe behind only Cano. If you're talking playoffs: outside of Cano, who didn't suck? This whole f*cking team failed so you can't single him out. I had a bigger problem with Teshera being a cu*t again, A-Rod not coming through and Jeter looking overmatched. At least Swisher makes like $7M year; not bad for overall value. It's the cocksuckers who made a combined $70M this season who didn't contribute who most of my ire would be directed at. They're supposed to be the offensive leaders. Swisher is a tag-along player, not a difference-maker. He's the SAM linebacker. He's not the QB or the RB or the WR, not even the middle linebacker stuffing the run or a pass-rusher. He's the guy who lines up over the tight end and fills the 'C' gap and his job is to not give us reason to notice him. (I would've gone with right guard for the analogy, it's more typical, but if you're watching football right, you're supposed to notice offensive linemen.) If the stars were doing what they were supposed to, nobody would've given a sh*t what Swisher was doing.

And good job by Hughes sucking. Hey, Rob, f*cking Cashman with that skipped start in May, right? Otherwise, in the ALCS 6 months later, he'd have been lights out.

 I gotta agree with tha token Negro. Swisher was the least of our worries. Charmin Tesheria was particularly horriful.
