It's looking like the Twins if we get the WC, Texas if we somehow pull out the Division. I don't know who I'd rather the Yanks face. I don't care what history says, last year in the playoffs it said Boston would beat the Angels and we know how that series went. Minnesota has been playing much better than us of late and are tough to play in that new ball park of theirs. On the other hand, Texas has Cliff Lee. It's not going to be easy either way.

The Twins struggle against lefties and if Retardi wasn't such a moron, he would start CC and Pettitte in games 1 and 2 and hope for a 2-0 lead coming back home. Also, playing the Twins means we only need 3 starters. Game 1 - CC Game 2 - Pettitte Off Day Game 3 - Hughes Game 4 - Sabathia (3 days rest) Off Day Game 5 - Pettitte (normal rest because of the 2 off days) Either way, I could see the Yanks losing to the Twins or the Rangers, so it matters not. Now that they are in, they better play well and that's all I'm hoping for. |

I really don't know why Girardi just wouldn't start Pettitte game two he's obviously the second best pitcher on the staff. Give him the ball put him in line for Game 5 like Rob said. This has been discussed all day today on radio but Girardi has his own 'master plan' and he's trying again to show he's smarter than everybody else. He lucked out last year that his stupidity didn't burn him in the playoffs and he's lucky his idiocy of the last month didn't burn him though it came close. I hope the players can once again over come him but he sure as hell doesn't make anything easy for his guys. |
