K-Rod. The Schmets are done with him and are looking for someone to take on the salary. Yanks aren't concerned about the $. They'll take K-Rod (& his salary) and let him set up Mariano Riviera next year then take over as closer when Mo retires... and if the Mets throw in a good prospect and they might even be able to pry away Joba Chamberlain who has been underwhelming in the AL East but would probably dominate in the NL. Win-Win. :peace: (Of course, we would need to first see Krod's fully recovered from his minor surgery). |

If he can be had for close to nothing, why not. But he cannot be taking over for Mariano. K-Rod will be 29 next year, by the time Mariano retires K-Rod will be 30 or 31. K-Rod's fastball is already fallen off, what used to be 93-96 is now 91. He is a small guy with a lot of miles on his arm already. |
