But the Dodgers pulled him back..........

They're out of it. Why wouldn't the Dodgers want to trade him for some talent plus salary relief??? What good does it do them to keep him (or Karoda for that matter!)??? :wtf: :wall:

Word has it Joe Torre had a hand in this. Since when is he the assistant GM?! He most likely won't even be the Dodgers manager next year!

He's a spiteful old bird if that's true. And I think it's true. He's riding the fence with the Dodgers, bullshitting with his maybes. They're probably hoping he comes back and this here could've been a small appeasement token. "Joe really wants Ted Lilly on the staff next year. Maybe this means Joe's leaning towards staying." Pfft. That leaching f*ck is gone and he'll do any little thing to needle the Yankees a bit.

Tell you one thing, too. For somebody with the public persona of a wise, sweet old man; and for somebody who has the media and fans swinging from his wrinkled old balls. Joe Torre really thinks who he is.

We all talked about this when he got that job. The Dodgers were the PERFECT team to take over when he took them over. Young stud talent all over the field and he's done nothing there. How is he even granted the luxury of "maybe"?
