It seems like giving up on McAllister after his bad season at SWB, but coming off a great one at Trenton as the Yankees Minor League Pitcher of the Year is a lot for two months of Austin Kearns, even though Kearns was a good pickup and is playing well. Chad Jennings explains that it may be because the Yankees thought they'd lose him in the Rule 5 Draft this winter. We shall see. http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2010/08/21/pitching-depth-on-display-in-kearns-trade/ Homie, what are your thoughts? Cue Rob's reply: "McAllister sucks." |

He's been passed by so many pitchers, he's become a non factor to the Yankees. The Indians probably think he can be a poor mans Jake Westbrook. The way Betances, Brackman, Banuelos, Nova, Ramirez, Noesi ... Have been pitching McAllisters value became helping add role players. |

Ain't Brackman 25 and still in Single A? Is he pitching well now? sh*t, he should be, being a first-round pick three years ago against 19-year-olds who won't amount to nothing. |

He's 3-7 in AA while giving up 9 hits and 4 BBs per 9 innings. He also posted a 5.10 ERA in A ball earlier in the year. He sucks. |

Only dumb ***** and Mike Franscesa callers think wins and losses matter for minor leaguers. 3.53 era in AA, 115K to 36 walks (3:1 K/BB ratio) in 123 innings and he's getting a bunch of ground balls, but f*ck the stats. More importantly he's 6'10", throws hard and isn't walking everybody anymore. When a dude is 6'10" you can subtract 2 or 3 years to their development because their tall goofy asses are like bambi getting used to their legs. Take a look at Randy Johnson's minor league stats sometime. Is he pitching great? No. Does the fact that he's 6'10", throws hard, gets ground balls, and isn't walking everybody make him more valuable than Zack McAllister. Yeah. Thats my only point, because thats what we're talking about. |

He is walking 4 batters per 9 innings since being promoted to AA, he has been going downhill this season. The big 25 year doofus started off decent in A ball facing a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds. Now, in AA, he is walking the ballpark again while giving up over a hit an inning. His K/BB ratio was a ridiculous 6.22 facing free-swinging Dominican rails at A ball, in AA it's a pedestrian 2.19. Zach McAllister sucks, but so does Andrew Brackman. |
