is the response to people saying the Yankees don't need any more offense. I was listening to the Michael Kay Show and he and several callers were saying the Yankees don't need Berkman because they're leading the league in runs. Sure, they don't need him. But games like these last two are an almost perfect synopsis of this offense. 11+2 = 13 / 2 = 6.5 runs. They get shut down by good pitching and little shits fresh up from Single A who'll pitch to a 6.53 ERA the rest of the season and be out of the league by 2013. They need a middle of the pack starter they've faced several times and a crap bullpen to tee off on and pad the totals. |
