I've seen enough of Kevin Russo. HE FECKIN SUCKS ! (.196ba, .260obp, 0hr, 4rbi)... The guy is not a ML starter and Arod's hip is liable to act up at any time, leaving us stuck with this loser playing third every day.

Wigginton plays a number of positions (all the infield positions plus LF, RF and DH) and hits well (currently .274ba .361obp 13hr 39rbi). He would give us a lot of versatility plus a strong bat off the bench. And if one of the "stars" gets injured, he could fill in admirably.

Baltimore is in (perpetual) sell mode so we should be able to get him pretty reasonably. :peace:

I was thinking about Wigginton a few weeks ago. He would be a nice pick up for the right price.

Wigginton makes sense, but not if Baltimore asks for too much.

The reason I didn't agree with Francesa with Byrd is, at this stage of his career, he's a starter. They don't need a starting outfielder, not to mention Chicago will ask for way too much.

Our great teams of the past had starters on the bench who would start a few times a week, if you can get him , do it.

Jeff Keppinger in Houston would be a nice fit for that role too.
